Ron Paul in Victoria on Oil Spill & Nuclear Power

BAY CITY - Congressman Ron Paul said Friday the oil drilling companies should be held responsible for the oil spill in the Gulf and they should help those affected by it.

Paul, whose district 14 includes Matagorda County, spoke to a full house at Friday's Bay City Lions Club weekly luncheon. He also discussed the economy, the deficit and nuclear power.

He questioned the oil company's motive for drilling in such deep waters.

"Those being affected by the oil spill, like fishermen and restaurant owners, should be reimbursed under the principal of private property by those who injured the property," the Clute Republican said.

"The ironic thing that may come out of the accident in the Gulf is that they might come to their senses and say, 'if we can't get the oil, then maybe we need more nuclear power for more electricity' and replace it," he said.

He said he is a long-time strong supporter of nuclear power.

Deep water drilling & lack of regulations.

Free Market Decided, "No!, No!, No!"

No!

No insurance. Nuclear risk is excluded. Check your home insurance policy.

Paper insurancee is a promise.

Nuclear waste is forever.

Please read my post from a few minutes ago to learn the folly of boiling water to thousands of degrees.... Aliced in Wonderland would be shocked.

You will be paying loans the rest of your taxpaying life to build what you may never use. Takes 20 years to so to build these nuclear monsters.

Nuclear waste is forever.

THAT,

I absolutely agree with.

WE all LOVE the Doc, but must respectfully disagree, unless we come out with a proper bio-degradable solution to the utterly non-bio-degradable nuclear waste.

Besides, the degenerate scum of England, Lizzy Crazy II, the heir to the most murderous strain of DNA the world has ever seen, in cohoots with the nazis at Vatican, is the largest land owner, along with her Rio Tinto mines, which owns the majority of Uranium mines and holdings.

Bad, bad news. Just ask the fine citizens of Nevada, which the Fed gvt has been trying dump nuke waste into a never ending tunnels, which has HIGH risk of leaking into their water tables. No matter how deep ya dig, with half-life into millions of years, would DESTROY everything.

Looking into MIT.Prof.Eugene Malove(RIP) whom quit, with disgust to which the Fed.& MIT lackeys, funded by Mil.Ind.Complex totally RIGGED all the Cold Fusion experiment analyses, which contrary to popular belief, were repeatable, and successful. With no secret that that is precisely the reason why Japan, France, England, Germany, and israel have been doing ColdFusion research since the late-80's.

But the goal should be sustainable completely de-centralized energy solutions. Without the utter abolition of monopoly of central distribution of energy resource, WE CANNOT BE FREE, ever. Just ask what Tesla would have said about his encounter with JP Morgan.

I wish Dr. Paul would mention the NASA study on...

microwaving solar power from the moon. It's a heck of lot safer than nuclear power and deep water drilling.

"2001: A Space Odyssey" Much better than "US Apollo." Kubrick

Moon Hoax
- [ このページを訳す ]
About continuing the obvious hoax:
"Initially Kubrick declined, as "2001: A Space Odyssey" was in post-production at the time, but NASA sweetened the deal ... Mr. Kubrick refused to direct the Apollo 13 mission, however, because NASA officials rejected his screenplay in...."

Do not trust NASA. Do not pass go. Kubrick made out like a bandit. Apollo taxpayer money paid him to fake the Apollo program.

Then, he made a much better movie with his Apollo contract payments.

Was The Apollo Moon Landing Fake?
(And why haven't we been back to the moon in 41 years?)

Apollo Follies: "Apollo Sun" "Kubrick" "Moon Hoax"

He said little... but note his refusal to fake Apollo 13... His movie "The Shining" has one scene with a little boy wearing an "Apollo" sweater. Perhaps hand knitted.

Russians knew Apollo Moon landing was a hoax. Even at the speed of light, two way radio transmissions take 2.6 seconds round trip to the Moon and back.

"One small step for man. One giant leap for mankind."
(missing 2.6 second delay)
"Roger."

One giant fraud.

I think Dr. Paul might better say

"let the free market decide." I for one would rather not support either nuclear energy or the deep water drilling of the BP disaster. I'm willing to downgrade my lifestyle for less toxic waste and risk.

Are there private nuclear power plants? Would a free market really support that?

Lord, I hope not.

"Are there private nuclear power plants? Would a free market really support that?"

Lord, I hope not.

. @ @ . Power to the People!
@ O @ -----> PEOPLE
. @ @ . NOT Corporate Entities!

You are right the market should decide.

But first we need free, open and honest markets.

Nuclear materials are highly regulated, Not just the radioactive stuff, but some elements used for construction.

A hot button topic for me. As a Process/Manufacturing Engineer I would rather be living next to a natural gas power plant if someone makes a fatal error or something breaks. I am between the Fermi and Cook Nuclear plants, at 100 and 150 miles, those plants are my neighbors in the event of an accident.

In my lifetime, I'm 56, the oil in the current Gulf of Mexico spill will be gone like the paint on my house.

There is nothing except time that can reduce bio-hazardous radioactive elements dispersed into the environment. Time on a geologic scale, millions of years.

What will the market decide. How much does it cost to have our DOE Department of Energy regulate the nuclear industry?

Do we see the cost in the product cost or is it hidden in Income Taxes and Federal Debt?

If the insurance to cover the risk is tax-deductible its another way true costs are hidden.

If the true cost were paid by usage could Nuclear Energy even compete?

I suspect not. The cleanup and disposal of spent nuclear reactors is a cost postponed until the future. Who will pay that cost. My bet is that taxpayer sill get stuck again.

I can't make a case for nuclear power no matter how hard I try.

Free includes debt-free!

Good points Paul_S and Mark Twain

"If the true costs were paid by usage could Nuclear Energy even compete?

I hope the Paul staffers will read this thread and back their guys off from further statements in areas they haven't adequately researched and considered.

Please find "Alice in Blunderland" (was in US Congress Record

Thanks.

"Alice in Blunderland" was entered into the US Congressional Record sometime around 1965. It explainded the folly of Nucleasr power and waste. It was written at about a high school graduate level in the hope that a few Congressmen could comprehend it.

"Allice..." seems to have wandered away and got lost. I can not find her anywhere. I thought, once in the Congressional Record, she would stay there. Free spirt I guess.

Ask Dr Paul, "Do things disappear from the Congressional Record?"

Write again soon. I am learning quite a bit from you and Paul-S

Nuclear Insurance? Unbelievable! No Market! No Way!

I generally agree with you and Dr Paul on letting the market decide; please see that the market wants no part of insuring this nuclear nonsense.

Please, no nuclear to boil water. All nuclear electric plants boil water to turn a dynamo turbine.

Would any reasnoable man boil a kettle of water to several thousand degrees, just to turn a dynamo turbine? Beyond "Alice in Wonderland."

Nuclear plants being planned today, are not planning any useful output for 20 years. Then their useful life is short. Their waste is forever.

Stay up wind and away from Nuclear!
Pretty sad. The closer you live, the worse it gets...

By the way, nuclear hazzard is an unbelievable insurance risk.
There is no policy that will cover more than a token, "Sorry" notice to any survivors. Review your "Excluded Risks: Nuclear" in all homeowner policies.

Even if you paid for a paper pomise to cover damages.... I do not believe you would be covered in any acceptable fashion. Dead or alive.

Say no to nuclear power.

Dumbest thing I've heard him say!

Oil is biodegradable and solar radiation degradable and is handled by the environment in one human lifetime.

Not even the surface of the sun can change the half life and degrade radioactive wastes, tens of thousand of years to to get rid of half the amount.

Chernobyl_disaster
International spread of radioactivity
Four hundred times more radioactive material was released than had been by the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.[70] The fallout was detected over all of Europe except for the Iberian Peninsula.

Piper Alpha disaster

I agree...

No nuclear power!

one of the smartest things I

one of the smartest things I have heard him say.. there is NOTHING wrong with Nuclear power.. grow up hippies!

Oh how I wonder, oh how I worry
And I would dearly like to know
How all this squander of earthly plunder
will leave us anything to show

It's a nice opinion, but just hot air.

.

Free includes debt-free!

I agree

Nuke power is dangerous as hell, I figured Dr. Paul would know that!

Maybe oil leaks have done

Maybe oil leaks have done more damage than nuclear plants?

At least to public opinion.

The there was more coverup at Three Mile Island than the current GOM problem.

Free includes debt-free!

there is absolutly NOTHING

there is absolutly NOTHING wrong with nuclear power..

Oh how I wonder, oh how I worry
And I would dearly like to know
How all this squander of earthly plunder
will leave us anything to show

what nuclear power plant was

what nuclear power plant was built and ran without massive government intervention and subsidies? a very dangerous alternative, although using some of our nuclear arsenal for electric power certainly would be nice...

Just the people that run it and dangerous wastes.
