ACLU to Monitor Las Vegas Tea Party
Submitted by MCS on Fri, 12/14/2007 - 22:35
I just got word that the ACLU has agreed to monitor the Las Vegas Tea Party to make sure the rights of all attendees are respected.

Paul supporters are among the most informed
concerning their own civil liberties. The ACLU might serve well as a looming figure to cause law enforcement to think twice before limiting our free speech, but otherwise they could probably learn a thing or two from us on what our rights and privileges are and the difference between the two.
I have no interest/respect
I have no interest/respect for the ACLU and it has nothing to do with there supposed reasons for which they say the stand!
Think About This When You Think About ACLU
When you hear "conservative" pundits badmouthing the ACLU, ask them where the conservative organization is that will help Ron Paul supporters with a fight for their first amendment rights. Their answer? "There's a first amendment?"

Is this a joke?
The ACLU is there to monitor Paul supporters. Don't kid yourselves. They are not your friends!
I resent that!
As a card-carrying ALCU member and RP supporter.
"Fight wars for a just cause, not just because!"
Ambiguity?
Sorry if there was some confusion, but the organizers of the Las Vegas Tea Party asked the ACLU to come and monitor the event. Many of you outside of Las Vegas do not know the history of the Fremont Street Experience (where this event is to be held). The city has repeatedly attempted to squash free speech at this location. The ACLU has been instrumental in getting the courts to strike down any attempt by the city to harass or intimidate folks. You might not like the ACLU; however, we are very grateful to them for agreeing to come out and make sure that Ron Paul supporters have a lot of fun in Vegas this weekend.
Cops
Hey xntryk1 -Ha Ha There will probably be more people at this event then there are Las Vegas cops :)
Hu?
I'm in Seattle, and while the local meetup has some canvasing and a get together planned for sunday, why do you think you need the ACLU in Vegas?
Sounds like my kind of party. I'm starting to think I need to hop on plane and get down to Vegas. Should I throw down the 1k I plan to donate in the casino and see if I can double up for Ron Paul?
I hope to see you all on Sunday.
no don't
I'm a sea ite too and Ron needs ALL THE MONEY we can give him!!
Where is the Tea Party around here??? i"m in auburn!
Come to Vegas!
It's a short plane ride from Seatac. Anyway, as a local Las Vegan, I'd suggest donating the grand to the campaign for the tea party instead of counting on doubling your money here at the tables. LOL.
So we've done research and there are NO LAWS on the books preventing an event such as our tea party Sunday. The ACLU will be on standby to make sure we're not harassed.
If you need to contact us for anything go to www.lasvegasteaparty07.com and you can find our contact info there.
Thanks for the invite!
And, considering I've never donated to a political campaign in my life, I don't really have any intention of really giving it to a casino instead ;) On the other hand, if I came up big at the table, I would give every cent of it to Ron Paul for supporting my right to be bad at math and good at luck;)
