Secret **HUGE** Project Happening in LA - MORE DETAILS!!!!

There is something going on huge in LA tonight. I am not sure what it is but I heard that it involves a big hollywood studio, 5 semi-trucks of gear, a makeup person and the Ron Paul campaign (not sure if this is grassroots or official). They also hinted that if Sunday is as big as they think, something HUGE will be announced!!

Could this be the super endorsement we've been waiting for?

I'm dying to know what it is... stay tuned.

Why On Earth Has this thread turned into a disccusion

About Mein Kamp, Nazis and Hitler???? Can someone explain this to me? start another thread, if this is even something we should discuss on a Ron Paul forum. Don't we have enough heat from people? Come on folks... Focus on raising some money and getting people into Paul.

A great empire, like a great cake, is most easily diminished at the edges. - Ben Franklin

I was just reading Mein Kampf

Hitler wrote that "propaganda is a means, not an end since "the end must be the principle."

As we've all seen, in today's world, money is central to American Propaganda (status, wealth, reward, punishment);

Thus, TeaParty07 will resonate with all americans because everyone understands the power and importance of money in their lives.

And, if we're smart, we get their attention (the goal of propaganda) and we can talk about Ron Paul.

The more I see Lyman's work, the more impressed I am. The blimp says; "who is ron paul;" so far, we're getting wonderful newspaper picture that invite people to "come on over" and "see the blimp."

Hopefully, by the time they leave, they'll say: "Now I know Ron Paul and I'm voting for him."

So Lyman got the emotional connection down perfectly since people come to see the blimp out of emotion and leave happy to know about Ron Paul!

And then there are the TeaParty07 and nov15th websites. The shear pile of cash raised is making Paulian Politics into an addicative game show and, once again, when we get people's attention-- the goal of good propaganda, we then have the opportunity talk to talk about Ron Paul....

And the propaganda is aligned to our principle since "people paid attention because of the money" and Ron Paul's principle is "sound money." So people won't feel tricked and taken advantage of.

Disclaimer

I am a peacenik who supports Ron Paul because, as MLK noted, war, poverty and racism go together.

As a philsopher, I believe that every experience is valid (I'll avoid waterboarding if possible) and that's why I read things like Mein Kampf.

After reading part of it, I was happy to have read it because I understood a little more about what was happening in Germany and Europe and got a better sense about why man turned against himself.

People should study history.

Most people would be amazed to hear how "Christian" The Nazi's sounded. They even had "God is on our side" on the Nazi Beltbuckles.

People would wake up and see that we are going down a similar path as germany, toward Facism.

With that Said, NAZI's Suck. And this Pro Israel, 1 State Solution Semite supports Ron Paul.

The Palestinians are more tortured and abused by the Syrains and Jordanians than anything else. Those 1 million Arabs who chose to become part of Israel live very good lives.

Israel has the right to defend itself. That is one reason I support Ron PAul. America is too concerned about the palestinians when the Arabs keep them in the camps too stir up problems for Israel and make them give up land.

nice repsonse

very level headed and thoughtful. thanks.

Given the number of times

Given the number of times Ron Paul supporters have been called anti-Semites etc, if you bring up Hitler or his book you should always throw in an appropriate caveat. I highly doubt you were reading it for its "principles", but instead were reading it, like I did, to understand the enemy better. That kind of thing needs to be clarified just for the sake of civil discourse.

"Freedom suppressed and again regained bites with keener fangs than freedom never endangered." -- Cicero

Why I read It

Because the pastor I listened to last week at church talked about it. i.e. He observed the poor in India reading it and felt that, if they had more money, they'd be reading something else...

Hitler talked about "understanding the enemy" but I believe that "we're our own worst enemy."

I don't mind being called an antisemite because I know it's hard to unravel politics and religion. i.e. Just because I feel sad about the state of palestinian poverty and honor Rachel Corrie, I become antisemetic since I'm told "Israel has the right to defend itself from terrorists."

I only read "Mein Kampf" for about 30 minutes but I really thought it was a great work that described the tormented mind of man. All too often I lose compassion and "self preservation" becomes more important than empathy.

Many people have criticized Jim Cramer because they see him as someone who only cares about money and I remind them: "that might be the case but he's a tormented man who wants to find peace."

As I look at the 60's, it amazes me how many folks went from "peace loving hippies" to people who got older, saw their mortality and pretty much forgot themselves in order to build up a retirement, etc.... "at all costs" to ensure that their retirement was noble.

The only bad part of "Mein Kampf," in my mind, was the torment, which Hitler describes, is still part of our lives.

I think that people need to look at WWII from a different angle and see Hitler as a tormented man, like we all are; Unless we do that, I don't think we'll get over our disposition to fight wars since we won't connect it to a tormented soul.

I hate censorship but....

I hate censorship, but I hate nazis more than anything. Rachel Corrie was tragic and the treatment of Palestinians is too but please shut up about Hitler. Ron Paul is antifascist. I love Israel and Jewish people and the Palestinians. If you mention Hitler and the Israel & Palestinians in the same paragraph then you sound like a nazi and I would gladly fight you any day of the week.

-A former liberal for Ron Paul.

peace bro, don't fight me

and I would gladly fight you any day of the week.

rage isn't a good thing...

If you mention Hitler and the Israel & Palestinians in the same paragraph then you sound like a nazi

a response conditioned by the MSM who refuses to challenge convienient stereotypes.

Wow

... awfully quick to throw out "nazi" there, aren't we? Sheesh. Anyway, this has now gotten way off topic, so I suggest we bring this topic to a close.

I agree!

I'm going to get some tea.

Please flag

We dont need racist appeals on this constructive site.

dr. zhivago

if you think that's racist, why not go watch the movie dr. zhivago? it has a lot of interesting reflections on how people get caught up in their own revolutions. based on my research of WWII, it wasn't about racism. Mein Kampf even talks about how Germany was running out of resources (oil, coal, etc... as I've read elsewhere) and needed to justify it's imperialism by believing that germany needed to survive. If you believe in "peak oil," etc... the US is in the same pickle and, thus, created the axis of evil.

And, just like you flinched at my comments about Mein Kampf, many people have had that same reaction to Ron Paul. If you go over to the more liberal blogs, they think Ron Paul will give too much power to the Christian Right and unleash capitolistic thugs on innocent people.

I support Ron Paul simply because he loves people in ways that make me want to be more human and forget about all the bickering that goes on in the world.

Misinterpretation, Apologies

"I don't mind being called an antisemite because I know it's hard to unravel politics and religion. i.e. Just because I feel sad about the state of palestinian poverty and honor Rachel Corrie, I become antisemetic since I'm told "Israel has the right to defend itself from terrorists." This is what upset me...

But, I realize now that because you dont mind being called anti-semite does not mean you are. I sure would not want to be called one, and I would state that I was not racist. You're NOT racist are you?

Please (dont be controversial), just like you distinguish your appreciation of the book, distinguish that you are not racist. Thats all that I ask, as mentioned, do it with a caveat. Otherwise, if you are racist, please keep those positions and insinuations to yourself.

Finally, it is sad that some people are attacked as Jew haters as a means to prevent dialogue. I saw a video that called Ron Paul a Jew hater because he does not support military support of Isreal. Isreal can take care of its self, and be more sovereign. Anyway, good conversation. Please make your positions more clear.

Back to the topic!!!

You're NOT racist are you?I

You're NOT racist are you?

I don't believe so. Racism is both a behavior and something that is felt. I can only testify that I believe that my behavior--- my compassion and empathy, are at least normal.

Of course Dennis Kucinich brought back a picture, from Lebanon, of a bomb that landed there with the words "made in the USA" on it;

Cases like this are much harder to fathom since, collectively-- and like the vikings, we're all benefiting from our country's imperialism even if we deny it's good. i.e. the quality of life we enjoy didn't happen by singing kum-by-ya and most folks just filter out that fact.

This is what upset me...

I'm sorry about that. i don't respond to names since "sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me."

Finally, it is sad that some people are attacked ... as a means to prevent dialogue.

yes. people seem to think that by showing strength, their positions become more credible. gandhi and MLK have "everlasting life in our thoughts" because they understood that "violence begets violence" and that "non-violence" is the key to peace.

Please make your positions more clear.

Honestly, I have no positions. I just read Mein Kampf tonight for the first time and, subsequentyly, I did a "Bloom's Taxonomy" exercise-- I tried to apply theory to application, by seeing how Lyman's marketing techniques compared to the propaganda techniques in Mein Kampf.

I probably shouldn't have done the comparison but, in the US, military technology is commercialized all the time into peaceful applications.

And, "being a math/science/geek type," I enjoyed doing the analysis since I usually fail at reaching people emotionally since I think like spock.

Relax - it's called discourse

I think the poster makes valid points. I too have read the book in question. It's not a bad book, it gives you insight into Hitler's mind. It really does describe the torment.
I've read other books too. "The Satanic Verses", by Salmon Rushdie was good. That does not make me hate their religion, or their people. Reading that book, or any other, does not make a person anything, other than well read.
I've read the bible as well, and I'm sure you wouldn't suggest that I preface that with a statement such as, "I don't hate Jewish people"

Relax, we're just talking about books...we aren't making racist appeals...

Come on ...

Don't flag the guy just for reading a book .... he's not ADVOCATING Hitler or anything! Lots of non-anti-semites have read this, believe it or not.

1984

because people worry about the correctness of "free speech," books like 1984 were written... the conclusion that people reach after reading that book is that political correctness only makes things worse.

I'm ashamed to admit it

... but once upon a time I was the same way. Somebody who reads about a particular philosophy or whatever must subscribe to it. God Forbid somebody tries to open their mind. Glad I wised up.

Your mind can't handle the truth of this:

Forgive me ...

... my brain must be fried from being online on all night, but this is the second time I've come across this article. Forgive my ignorance, but what is it showing??

Thanks for filling me in!

my analysis

hopefully my analysis doesn't offend anyone but here it goes:

"if you look at the titles, they're all about non-sense. thus, the obvious question is: "why would ron paul supporters read non-sense." or, perhaps: "is there a 'bot network' that's reading these ron paul stories?"

that's my take.

while I don't know the answer, I'd suggest that it only takes a single ron paul supporter to post the link on digg.com and then digg readers, who like ron paul, feel compelled to read it w/o screening it first.

this theory is sort of like britney spear fans who read everything about the pop star just to say they read it.
