RT- "Afghan war is lost and US government has to face it."
Submitted by meekandmild on Tue, 06/22/2010 - 16:29U.S. taxpayer dollars are finding their way to the pockets of the Taliban, according to a new 75-page congressional report about the military's use of Afghan security firms. The firms are used to ensure the safe passage of supply convoys. If the U.S. doesn't pay up, almost without fail the convoy gets attacked. Brian Becker, Director of the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition says Afghanistan case is hopeless.

How could they "win"?
There is no "winning" in Afghanistan. That was apparent from the start.
They didn't do anything to anybody. They were just invaded under a stupid pretense that they were "harboring OBL", without even any confirmation of it.
Bush says,"We think OBL is there, so we'll invade".
It was probably the most stupid thing ever. It destroyed any credibility for the US, if it even had any credibility left.
What would winning be?
Taking over the country?
Making it a puppet-state?
Killing all the Afghani people?
What?
They can't even say what "winning" might even be.
They don't even know, or at least they can't say, because it's an ulteriorly evil imperial exploitation.
It is imbecilic and evil beyond belief.
A good one.
It's amazing to see the walls of the palace crumbling before our eyes. The federal government has lost so much credibility in the past 2 years because of blatant incompetence and bare-faced corruption that the people cannot ignore the fallacy that it really is. How wonderful this is, but at such a heavy cost. The government have their pants down and everyone's laughing, but my only concern is what the government's retaliation will be.
The USG is riddled with "Baghdad Bobs"
Admitting to a mistake is simply not possible for these delusional psychopaths. Hence, the troops will eventually be deserted and Americans will be starving in the streets.

Who do you support?
If you grow your own or make your own?
Your just evil at that point.
Your just evil at that point. No one can "benefit" from you.
My Neo-Con Relatives
A link to the Washington Post article, and this video, will be sent to all my neo-con "wave the flag and support the troops by supporting foolhardy and needless undeclared war" relatives.
The sad part is that the points raised in these links won't be addressed by any of them. Instead, they will take issue with the video being produced by a media outlet with "Russia" in the title, and the news article is found in a "liberal rag" like the Washington Post.
It would be funny if it weren't so sad.
U.S. indirectly paying Afghan warlords
U.S. indirectly paying Afghan warlords as part of security contract
By Karen DeYoung
Tuesday, June 22, 2010
The U.S. military is funding a massive protection racket in Afghanistan, indirectly paying tens of millions of dollars to warlords, corrupt public officials and the Taliban to ensure safe passage of its supply convoys throughout the country, according to congressional investigators.
The security arrangements, part of a $2.16 billion transport contract, violate laws on the use of private contractors, as well as Defense Department regulations, and “dramatically undermine” larger U.S. objectives of curtailing corruption and strengthening effective governance in Afghanistan, a report released late Monday said.
The report describes a Defense Department that is well aware that some of the money paid to contractors winds up in the hands of warlords and insurgents. Military logisticians on the ground are focused on getting supplies where they are needed and have “virtually no understanding of how security is actually provided” for the local truck convoys that transport more than 70 percent of all goods and materials used by U.S. troops. Alarms raised by prime trucking contractors were met by the military “with indifference and inaction,” the report said.
“The findings of this report range from sobering to shocking,” Rep. John Tierney (D-Mass.) wrote in an introduction to the 79-page report, titled “Warlord, Inc., Extortion and Corruption Along the U.S. Supply Chain in Afghanistan.”

Sickening and beyond tyranny
If this doesn't wake up the sheeple, we are doomed.
Where are the protests from the parents of the dead soldiers?
Cindy Sheehan is right.
If the government does this, then what about all of these other seeming impossibilities? Are they NOW within the realm of possibility?
BP oil leak?
911 tyranny?
Gulf of Tonkin?
Pearl Harbar?
Lousitania?
Shoe bomber?
Underwear bomber?
H1N1 vaccines?
And my favorite:
Moon landing Hoax?
You forgot the easy one
The weapons of mass destruction and the drones SH had to spray anthrax on the eastern seaboard or was it Israel (do I repeat myself).
What I find the most ironic about this one is that the Pentagon and Klangley is the ones with the drones terrorizing people.
Ironic yes, and even more sickening.
WMDs, you're right. There are more, many more.
The military industrial complex is real.
Where is the MSM on this story? The story with the Washington Post above is it so far. They seem to be in the same place as all of those WMDs.
Thanks.
An ironic story for Russia Today
innit?

I hate saying this, but if
I hate saying this, but if the war is a reason for Ron Paul to run in 2012, I hope it goes on until then. If Obama brings the troops home he'll be a lot harder to push out of office.
[!]
I completely agree with you. Who cares how many people must die for Ron Paul to be president? Freedom isn't free[!]
Listen.
Your point is very well taken. I apologize for phrasing so carelessly. But I'm saying if we come home now, and Obama is hailed as a great peace leader, he will use that as a weapon to further violate rights in our country and others, and probably start other wars anyway. A Ron Paul presidency would be a world-historical event and would bring about the end of *several* wars and countless illegal & destructive activities by the U.S. government & global corporatists. That's a good trade-off.
Another example of this is what would happen if the economy boomed right NOW. Sure, great, but it's based on government spending and cronyism and wouldn't last anyway, and it would give Obama as much power as the Clintons. I don't think a couple of years of shallow prosperity, or a slight downturn in deaths in battle, are worth putting the final nail in the coffin of a Republic.
Of course ending a war is always a good thing.
And it wouldn't offer the Left any satisfactory talking points after the long delay and obvious corrupt influences.
Also BP corruption and ineptitude is turning out to be swaying more Leftists than the faraway war. It's a variant on the old NIMBY.
If it weren't for the CIA
running the military and all that potential heroin in those poppy fields leaving might be on the list of things to do.
We need to face it our govt is corrupt to the bone. Addicted to war money, drug money..subsidiaries with govt contracts who traffic in women and children for crying out loud ?
Remember Dyne Corp they're still around, changed the name of the sellers of human sex slaves to pedophiles and murderers.
This has never been about terrorism, none of it, never has been...The only legitimate war was the Revolutionary War
Since then it's been about committing false flags, depending on the American people being fervently patriotic and sending their sons and daughters to be murdered. George Carlin had this exactly right, these rich politicos don't give a damn about you..Get it through your head, they would as soon you and your family died for all they care. Sorry to carry on but the stupidity has to stop already !!
Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow
Yea it is in there
all these vises, like I said before, comes out of the north..Russia is not broke..
bump
good to see it on the front page.

There is only one way DECLARE WAR , plus up the troops to 400,000, Remove all Rules Of Engagement, and have at it.
In the process, DESTROY all the poppy plants.
Otherwise "GET THE HECK OUT"..."JUST COME HOME"
http://wilco287.com
NOOOOOO don't destroy those pretty plants
they hurt no one. Besides if they grow enough of them they could crash the market and then who ever is trying to make profit off it wouldn't.
Best cure for low prices is...low prices.
The best cure for High prices is...high prices.
Poppy fields are important
Poppy fields supply raw opium to pharmaceutical companies.
Opiates are a vital medicine.
that's a
double edge sword!
I can't believe that...
any one man can be this stupid, president or not. His handlers must really want this nonsense to continue. He is doomed politically already for it. He has proven himself a liar publicly and a fool. He should resign immediately and take with him all the other war mongering, socialist/facist, and congressmen who are in collusion with him. He has destroyed our country and has turned the eyes of the world against "we" the American people....

We seem to lose them all,
We seem to lose them all, anyway..this murderous policy of ours, NOT to mention getting into the Middle East, is OUTRAGEOUS.
The congress is authorized to ...
declare war not some silly ass clown pretending to be president. Stop it now! We're on to you and you will be held accountable....
