“The most important element of a free society, where individual rights are held in the highest esteem, is the rejection of the initiation of violence.” Dr. Ron Paul
no doubt here. Granny is a con artist
she ripped me off plain and simple. she also never paid for that "liberty bus" and its now been repainted and hidden.
Linda hunnicutt apparently fooled you and many others with her false patriotism.

woo hoo!
Music, Magic, Truth, etc...
The efforts of Chris and Corey in this film are exactly what this revolution is about. It is so well done for what it is intended to do and that is get more people on board with a blast of the true magic that was/is us. The more stuff like this, the more chance we have to overpower the negative forces on the planet and in our country. I got lost in self importance and emotion thinking the music of the time should have been better represented. When it's important enough, it will be. Truth. Passion is what has pushed me on with RP and sometimes I let it push me into bad regrettable choices. I complained about the music track in the film. I wish I could take it back. It was not justified and as I get further outside myself, I look at all my fellow revolutionaries doing exactly what I am trying to do, just like we always did - push this liberty movement as far as is humanly possilbe. Supporters of my songs came to my rescue and were so kind. I awakened. I wrote to Chris and apologized for any unwarranted distractions. I'll write better songs and get included or not. I can't stop. I mentioned they talked down to me in my lowest moment. Mistake and not so. I love what I'm doing and want to continue. I can't write without the love connection of the great people in this movement. Thanks to DP and it's faithful, my friends and fans. It must only grow and GROW from here thru 2012.

that would be Steve Dore taking the high road again
who here has not been absolutely thrilled or inspired by Steve's musical message?
so today, he shares another message with us: passion and devotion can lead us to moments of wistful thinking or "what ifs" and even some smidge of regret....
when we feel the need to share doubts, frustrations, or questions on our path to renewal and revitalation....
it can always be to a positive purpose...
and enlightenment of many....
ultimately allowing us to keep moving forward
again inspired and rededicated to our purpose
to take that high road...
with the support of friends and the faithful
what a powerful message from Steve, again
bless you doll and thank you

I just love it
I've watched it numerous times...but want to know if there is a way to view it online other than through youtube. I hate the great firewall of china...we must never let such happen in America!
DP was one of the original candles
I watched about a third of it before the thing hung up on my laptop, not bad, I guess. But Carlson annoys me, re-runs bore me, and the damn sound track is off. It did get me thinking though –
I remember when Nystrom was considering starting the Daily Paul. Michael wanted to do something constructive and thought this might be useful. Jesus, it’s amazing to think about what has transpired since. At the time, when I heard Ron Paul was running for president, my first reaction was “No Way – he can’t do that!” Historically, presidents that support honest money end up with pieces of eight on their eyelids. I was sure he was flying into hell on wings of wax.
Many (of the few) people that have an understanding of what’s going on behind the scenes have a downright condescending attitude to those that don’t quite get it; stupid sheeple, etc. And I can relate to that. But, as people go about their lives, how in the hell are they supposed to get this without the good fortune of the right information at the right time. I mean, bullshit emissions are at toxic levels. It’s more than just a desire to know – opportunity counts for a lot;
…because the current social construction of reality is a complex fabric. You got the ghost of Edward Bernays running through the entire curtain. That finely honed science of advertising has been turned into a weapon of mass deception. Hell, people don’t even realize the information collection that transpires through the forwarding of emails designed specifically for that purpose; you’d think it was obvious.
I guess part of my point here is the public service that this site provided; directly and indirectly. It gave folks the opportunity to reconsider unexamined beliefs. Whether they carry that to further levels is up to them. But this was one of the original candles; countless others were illuminated here first.
A truly wonderful post
Thank you.
Michael doing this is indeed a blessing. I don't think any of us realized in the beginning of the DP how far this would go.
The DP is a home for all of us to get news, say hi and share all kinds of good stuff.
It is a HUB. It is the HUB of The Ron Paul Revolution!
Here's to you Michael and here's to all of us who make this one, big, happy,
liberty loving family!
Ron Paul is My President
Great flick but only covers 1/10,000th of what actually occurred
This is no one's fault as you can not even begin to get to the depths of the WORLDWIDE RON PAUL movement in 1 1/2 hours.
It would be like trying to take a 20 foot bass boat out to sea to the site of the BP disaster in hopes of trying to get full shots of the busted pipe and giant oil plumes miles below the surface. Its just not going to happen.
The boat would run out of gas on the surface before even criss crossing a fraction of the length of the spill with no way to see even a hundred feet, much less a thousand feet or mile below the surface.
The RON PAUL MOVEMENT is too deep and too wide ranging for anyone or even a focused group to fully grasp. All we can do is guess how far it has penetrated into American society the past years.
My guess is that if Ron Paul runs in 2012 (with Senator Rand Paul as VP) there will be an uprising 100 times greater than what we even began to see in 2007/2008.
Many many people have awoken to the truth over the past two years; and the establishment media will be completely overwhelmed beginning with the forthcoming December 16, 2010 money bomb.
RON PAUL has the possibility to completely and utterly expose and discredit the corporate special interests in the mainstream media this time around.
It will again be up to everyone of us to make it happen in 2011/2012.
Just do it!
*****
(Also... I dislike Tucker Carlson almost as much as I dislike Glenn Beck. Tucker the jerk [and controlled opposition] stabbed Ron Paul in the back in 2007 by doing a report on a whore house and claiming all the prostitutes loved Ron Paul because Ron supported prostitution. This was/is a complete fabrication and a lie. Why is Tucker Carlson featured prominently and favorably multiple times in For Liberty? He is a two faced paid idiot actor and traitor who models his pundit work after double agent Glenn Beck.)

'nuff said. I have two new RP songs I don't know what to do with yet. He still gets me cranked up. :-)
SD
The first thing that struck me after I watched it...
Was that Steve Dore was not in it. I feel badly for you Steve! I met you at the first End the Fed march and rally and you are such a great guy. Don't feel bad my friend. Aimee Allen and Jimmie Vaughn, weren't in it either, so you are in excellent company. Do not despair my friend, you will always be a huge part of our history for me and I am sure for tens of thousands of others as well. I look forward to your great music in 2012.
Music
Ronuloid... Unbelievable, they left the music support out of the thing! All generic background sound pieces. When I get outside my own hurt ego about all this, I realize ALL the RP songs and artists are missing as you point out -especially the ones there at the very beginning and before! There's a soundbite and a few words about Marc, but he came in much later on... The RP Revolution without it's music support... It still was life/nation changing, profound and significant with the passion of the 60's for so many of us. Just shows how great/powerful it all really was. For all of us passionate grassroots Ron Paul Revolutionary songwriters/artists, I MISS US! :-) I won't watch this again. I don't think the producers of this were even there at birthing and early days... Imagine the 60s without the music. Lol You had to be there.
SD
I'll say something to Micheal Maresco.
I'm sure there can be a remastered soundtrack.
It's possible. I was thinking about Amy Allen as well as yourself definitely being a part of the documentary.
I agree, music is part of the magic Steve.
"I have sworn upon the altar of God, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man."
-- Thomas Jefferson
I hear you...
and hope that original music is better featured in the sequel... :D
I do know that there were licensing issues going on (elsewhere) at the time and suspect these issues played a part in the decision to use the donated library for most of the score... You can send me a PM on FB, or RPFs, about it, but I'd rather look forward...
Ron Paul himself stated that for r3VOLution to succeed we need music and young people. We certainly have both.
ONWARD!
It's done.
It's history. It's like a song. You re-write and re-write until it's done, then you let her run her course. Then write a new one if there's more to say. I don't want to see the doc changed now because of some hurt feelings or even a good logical presentation to do so. They made their choices and it's done. I needed to say something. It is more apparent as time goes on, that this happened as an experience that those of us who lived it remember well. Nothing will ever change that. :-)
SD
Yes, Steve D, your music was very much woven into. . .
our feverish "GET RON PAUL's name out in public view" early phase of the campaign. When Spokane, WA, had a sign-painting event in Dec. '07, one young visiting student volunteered to bring a CD (oops, "counterfeit" one, I'm afraid) of your songs to be played in the background. YOU WERE WITH US as we spray-painted some 250 signs of "Google RP" "Legalize Liberty" etc.
I won't be too harsh on these DVD makers, though. . . Some people are more visually inclined, some musically, and yet some theologically. We can only do so much as an individual :-)
:-)
Totally glad to hear this. Guess I'm needy right now. Lol. I know/cherish how we all worked together 24/7. Every breath/moment. Every new chance to meet a new virtual co-revolutionary. I never met some of my very best friends early on! Amazing. Trust and energy like I've never felt. Every opportunity to network and advance the cause. Fantastic highlight times of my life so far. I made it pretty clear to everyone that ALL my music was free for use in the Liberty movement. A counterfeit CD is a huge compliment. :-) I have written to the guys who did this to find a deeper connection/understanding why they left All the music out. They are talking down to me about it. Oh well. It's done. It's history. There will be a new thing. Maybe. The things that seem to change don't really change too awful much. But I'll always be a dreamer. :-)
Good days to you!
SD
hey Steve Dore
still play your tunes all the time....still remember every moment
remember those early days and the electricity generated...those heady wonderful times
with your musical talent inspiring us...moving us...and think I speak for all who received your cd's from my little "share" effort...
you will always be a treasure...
and although I may not have spoken to you in a few years, you remain a huge huge hugely important part of my life.....and of the Ron Paul "liberation" movement and revolution...
just thinking how blessed we are to have had those moments and to be moved so by your music....
wonder how many know of your total generosity in allowing the music to move throughout the country for free....as a truly patriotic and selfless gesture on your part...
cee cee
My dear cee cee
So good to "see" you again. I've wondered and wondered how you were.
SD
Great to "see" you too.....Steve D.
Ditto!!! We have much catching up to do...have been traveling hither thither and yon...always with your tunes with me!
Same old email but new phone...so just contact me anytime you get the urge...depart Wednesday for Montevideo, but will be back in LaLa Land by fall....assuming they let me back in. (lol)
Your fan and friend forever.........still inspired by all you create and do. (and also responded below)
cee cee
eh...
you have been here a while too haven't you.
Apologies on my behalf, I'm just furious at the destruction of the gulf.
"I have sworn upon the altar of God, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man."
-- Thomas Jefferson
apologies from me too CG
also furious at what I think is needless destruction (since I am not a disperal agent fan or government agency fan)
sick sick sick
your apology is gratefully accepted...and I extend my apologies to you too....
we are all frustrated and STYMIED by all the information and disinformation
sometimes my manner is very curt...as am always rushing...and can sound condescending, arrogant whatever....recognize and admit that
appreciate what you do for the "cause"...THIS is what matters!!!!!!!!!!
cee cee
Ha, awesome, man...
I thought I'd get a bunch of shit at best for my sentiments. Your words have snapped me back to positive reality for those who enjoyed my input in the Great RP Revolution. It is the people who lived it that matter and not who documents it. Who are they anyway? Lol. Thanks for your comments, Ronuloid, I will sleep much better tonight. Especially with a full bottle of Blackstone Merlot I have already finished in non celebration. :-) Yet, re-living all those moments is the most precious thing for all of us I know. Those bastards at the debates. Those wonderful citizens at the rallies and online. We were on fire like only we will ever know.
SD
With Respect...
Steve, in Dec. '06 I saw the potential of the internet in all this. I bought a computer for Christmas, found MeetUp, found MySpace, found you... We talked once or twice, (I think you gave me permission to use a song for something or other...) It was the selfless passion, of those like yourself I found early on, that gave me the confidence to embark on some difficult paths... I _know_ how valuable to r3VOLution your presence has been and on this solemn day remain honored to continue to walk these same paths with you.
It is with a familiar sadness that I read your words and imagine the feelings between the lines. It is a justified, yet common, lament; and there's the rub...
Try to imagine the scope of encompassing the entirety of the r3VOLution in a 90min film. Hell, try remembering half of what you knew about what was being done, much less everything else... Since the films release I have been reminded of somethings and enlightened about others that have been done for r3VOLution. All could/should have been included...
And that would take a mini-series...
I was not part of the early discussions, nor editing of the film. I can only speak of my experiences riding along on the roadtrip, helping from RPFs, and knowing the producers very well. I do know that they continually asked for input/footage and that they added activists who were on the route. As far as the music, IIRC, there were IP issues going on and the producers avoided the bog altogether by using a library donated by a NYC RP supporter (whose floor we slept on...}
The criticism is valid and will help in the future. The feelings are justified, I have shared them at times... I just felt the need to add another view, in hopes we will all work closer for the sequel...
ONWARD!
Well said...
"Try to imagine...", you say. Now if I could just not think music, it would be so much easier. Lol. My life IS and always has been music for 57 years in one way or another. Sure I see the big pic and the high road is, if anything, the one we all must choose if Dr. Paul has taught us anything. The film is exactly as I remember, except for the music. The music is me. So what can I say here. I get it and I really appreciate your words so much. They did the best job they could and it has moved many people to tears with memories. It's a great video! I can't try to lesson someone else's joy though every word I say might do that. It's a bad place for me. Bitter/sweet like nothing I've known. Thank you again for your words. That time is gone now. It's history. We lived it. We know. Thank goodness for that. :-)
SD
This documentary...
is just how I remember it except for one important though very personal thing. I can never watch it again. I can never tell my friends to watch it after all the talk I've done about being such a part of it. I lived/breathed it anyway... that is the real magic of it, right?. Now, a new and very profound deeper meaning of bitter/sweet has been handed me in my lifetime with this vid. The more things change, the more they get very much the same when history is written. Fortunately, Michael's words are like a stack of gold coins to me. I'll remember all the kind words of support and sharing from all those that like my songs in the old days, thought I made a difference and took the time to tell me so. I'd dearly love to have been in it somewhere.
SD
Mr. Dore...
I doubt you will remember me, but I met you at the Rally for the Republic. Your musical representation of Ron Paul's message has left a lasting impression on me. I thought the documentary was wonderful, but I also regret that you are not in it. However, I feel that fact is a testament to how big the freedom movement has become. Don't ever doubt your contribution or impact. Keep fighting the good fight and maybe one day we will restore the founders' vision of what a free society could be.
Beautiful...
and sincere thanks for your thoughts! "Restoring the founders' vision of what a free society should be". That trumps all! The IRS calls me, Mr. Dore. Scary. Steve is good. :-) I like how you put everything.
SD
you made SUCH a difference....
so sorry we never got that video made...or that your work is not featured in this documentary....as it is, it tells only a fraction of the story in which you played, and still play, a leading role
with much thanks and appreciation to you...can't watch it either frankly, as the music is not singing to me like yours did and does

I love you. But you know that.
