Out With The Speaker

The best thing that could come from Congressional elections in 2008 would be for the current Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi to be defeated. That would the the ultimate.

Should Cindy Sheehan be supported in her Independent Candidacy? I am having a hard time deciding. She seems to have quite a hybrid when it comes to her positions.

Cindy Sheehan's son died in

Cindy Sheehan's son died in Iraq. I'd say that makes her a big authority on the effects of the Iraq War. She has been arrested for protesting. She has strength in her convictions. She is not a coward.

From what I can see, she was treated very bad from both the Republican leadership and the Democratic leadership. It seems to me that she is someone that could fall within the umbrella of the Revolution.

True, I don't agree with everything she wants to do. But I don't agree 100% with anyone. Not even members of my own family.

I don't know a lot about Cindy

I don't know much about Cindy Sheehan but I would love to see Nancy Pelosi lose.

I left the Democratic party because of thier caving to Bush

Time and Time again, Fisa, imunity, war budgeting, housing bailout without fixing the problem, on and on and on really sad.. Repubs the same... actually worse.. they just laid down like little wimps on signing statments torture etc.. thier are voices in the Democratic party that are sane but they are a minority.. Just like thier are sane repubs.. um in the Ron Paul camp! :)

I

By all means,

vote Pelosi out of office, if Cindy does not perform, vote her out in the next election, but right now concentrate on the Tea Party Money Bomb starting tonight (tomorrow morning) at 12AM EST. Let's make history and help elect Dr Ron Paul President.

I'll play.

I think it would be great to send a message to the Democratic Leadership that they have lost the confidence of the country. Republican and Democrats alike. I'm not sure that it is possible to defeat Pelosi in that district. Can you provide more information?

This is her campaign

This is her campaign issues/announcement, in the form of a letter:

I admit, she sounds like she might have some socialist positions. She wants universal health care. But she is quite vague too. The thing is that Pelosi's district is made up of a lot of people that thrive on big social programs. It seems to me that Cindy Sheehan could beat Nancy Pelosi, who also has socialist positions.

However, Cindy Sheehan wants to change our foreign policy. Her son died in Iraq, and she has been up front in protesting. She has been arrested numerous times protesting the Iraq War. She also wants to end the control of this country by elites such as the military industrial complex.

I'm a little disappointed. I

I'm a little disappointed. I know everyone is pumped about other things right now. I am too. But I was really hoping for some feedback here. I think it's okay to support Ron Paul and think about upcoming Congressional races at the same time. It seems to me that kicking out the current Speaker of the House would be a HUGE priority. Am I wrong?

Oh, and I am genuinely interested in a vasy array of opinions on Cindy Sheehan. Doesn't anyone have an opinion?

Sheehan

I came across Cindy Sheehan and her Code Pink group who were protesting outside of either Pelosi or Feinstein's house in SF (not sure whose mansion it is). They were all protesting against the war and as I was walking by I said "IF you want to end the war, vote for Ron Paul." They went nuts!

"We will NEVER vote for a Republican etc etc"

Then I said, "Well then you aren't serious about ending the war because he is the only one that is going to do it!"

That's when I heard "I'm Cindy Sheehan, all I care about is ending the war!"

I said "Then you should support Ron Paul!"

A bunch of them starting yelling at me saying that they care about more things than money and greed and how Republicans are evil etc. I told them to do their homework and stop wasting their time protesting people that have proven that they have zero intention of changing anything and vote for Ron Paul.

So my read of Sheehan and Code Pink is they care about ending the war but they are misguided in their approach. Their unwillingness to recognize Ron Paul as a means to an end, even if they don't agree with his politics, is telling to me.

Any thoughts? The thing is,

Any thoughts? The thing is, Pelosi will probably win. But Sheehan has a shot in that particular district, and that would be major news. It would greatly upset the shill leadership.
