EARLY START for the 16th of Dec???

Hi, It's the 16th of December in Japan. Since last week the RP campaign started allowing donations from overseas US citizens, have these people started to donate? I am asking because the donations are starting to take off!!! This is a great sign to see a 72 hour total of around $10M+ Go!GO!Go!RP! What's your take on this? RS » |

The campaign sent out an e-mail. That's why donations are up (plus the added exposure yesterday in the old media--I hope).
The clock goes by the time shown on the RonPaul2008.com site to count for the 24 donation period.
Of course, if it hits $20 million, it won't matter what day it was.

US Citizens anywhere can donate using a credit card. Before that I used Paypal. BUT, now anyone with a CC can do it.
The 234th anniversay of the Boston Tea Party is the 16th of December, and reflecting the International TIME LINE, now in Asia and Australia, where the currencies are doing VERY WELL against the DOLLAR, it's time to donate.

Are you sure about that?
I thought I read somewhere that the donations were to be made between 00:00-23:59 EST on Dec. 16. In an hour it will be Dec. 16 where I live. However, if I make my donation in 1 hour, Ron Paul's website is going to chalk it up to a Dec. 15th donation regardless of the time zone where I am physically present. They don't know where I am.

POINT ONE: As far as I am concerned, the 16th extends world wide.
POINT TWO: To quote the last total of $4.3 mil raised, which equals money sent by check that was added by campaign headquarters.
How are they going to add up postal mail from Sunday? Depost checks on Sunday? They will have to do it on Monday.
Should they count all that? I hope so. That's when the PRESS will take note.
POINT THREE: It's a real party for RP. Let's enjoy it. Give some slack. Make the 24 hours go a bit more, like 36 or 48. B>)

PLEASE go to https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate/ and read section #6. What you are proposing is a self-inflicted wound! The media is going to get ahold of posts like yours and rip us to shreds. If someone investigates and finds out that non US citizens have donated to the official campaign, the Tea Party will be a bust. Please don't do this to everyone who has planned and gotten the word out. We have to do this right or not at all. You are putting our credibility on the line.

Holy frijoles! If this is fact someone needs to announce it so we can spread the word. We could triple the amount of donations!
I've been telling folks in other countries (noncitizens) who want to donate, to get a friend or family member in the States to donate for them and then reimburse them by mail.
Someone let me know how to make this announcement and quick!

You have to be a citizen to contribute to the official campaign. That, or a legal permanent resident. Citizens who are overseas can donate, but not foreign nationals.
On the ronpaul2008.com website, you specifically have to check a box that says you are a US person and you also have to check that you will not be reimbursed by someone else for making the donation, so please don't ask noncitizens to contribute. Encourage them to give to the blimp or the billboard project in Iowa instead.
Let's not give them any reason to criticize the grassroots effort!!!

wait until midnight eastern time in the US
It's going to be December 16th in one hour where I live, but I'm going to set my alarm for 7 am and donate then, which is 12 midnight on the east coast in the States.
If you donate before midnight EST, your donation will count for Dec. 15.

I received a fund raising e-mail from the campaign today. That may be why the contributions have started to pick up.
