Rand Paul challenges Conway to 6 U.S. Senate debates

Rand Paul is challenging Jack Conway to a half-dozen debates before the general election this November.

Paul, a libertarian-leaning Republican with Tea Party connections, sent out a news release Wednesday announcing the challenge to Conway, the state's Democratic attorney general.

Paul's campaign offered six scenarios, including one to appear on national television via Fox News.

Allison Haley, spokeswoman for the Conway campaign, said the Democrat is looking forward to debates “which will show voters the clear contrast between Rand Paul's risky ideology and Jack Conway's fight to protect Kentucky families.”

Haley said the Conway campaign would discuss the debates with Paul's campaign.
