HR 1553 introduced : Green light for Israeli strike on Iran
Republicans in the US House of Representatives have introduced a measure that would green-light a possible Israeli bombing campaign against Iran.
Resolution 1553 provides explicit support for military strikes against Iran, stating that Congress backs Israel's use of 'all means necessary' against Iran, "including the use of military force," BBC Persian reported.

This is all about Congress being able to play War without having to do it themselves. Why do we even have to "green light" this. We obviously support pre-emptive attacks with Iraq, right? Just like Dr. Paul said. Other countries will use our bad example as their example on why they should attack and say its a morally right thing to do.

I wonder if we could be in the making of an instant 1-2-3! attack, due to many reasons:
1) Remember the warships off the coast of China, Costa Rica and Iran?
2) Venezuela and North Korea are peparing for any funny business and the media constantly smears Iran for having military exercises but not when the USA is doing the same thing.
3) Let's get hypothetical: curious enough, Costa Rica neighbors Panama, where the Panama Canal is located. BTW, Colombia is on the border with Panama and they allowed U.S. air bases months ago. I recall someone either stating or pointing out that the Panama Canal can be up for grabs and whoever controls that will in fact control trade from the Atlantic and Pacific. Iran neighbors Afghanistan and Iraq, which is where our troops are located. Remember, Iran and Iraq duked it out at each other approximately 20 years ago for... wait for it... OIL! And North Korea because it borders South Korea, which still has U.S. bases and troops, and China, the role model of a country everyone's going to want to follow.
Just keep your eyes and ears open to anything that sounds like war propaganda.

and strong allies...who need not join the "fight" directly to "assist" Iran

How do you know Iran has an "incredible military arsenal"? Do you think you might actually hear the truth from any source in the media if they didn't. The US has a "huge standing military force" - the Iranians have the army of the mullahs, but a "huge" force - I again would like to know how you know that.
I agree that the challenge is much bigger than we are let to believe, just like Iraq, just like Vietnam, just like Korea. It is always a challenge when we are agressive imperialists.

it is just my personal assessment....
contrary to your assertion, Iran has a very large active duty military...of around 500,000 (not including the Rep Guard)
and over a couple of million in their paramilitary (sort of comparable to our national guard)...
they have good equipment (thanks to their pals)....but better than that...
they have been focused on cyber warfare for several years
and no one has any clue how capable they may, or may not be, in the conduct of cyber war....
a hobby of mine: studying Iran....given familial ties
sorta hoping they could take down the Fed and DC from cyber land...since we can't get it done

And as we know, the United States far outdistances all other countries on military spending and military power.
Will China and Russia come to Iran's defense? I don't know. Is this the beginning of WWIII? I don't know. Whoever knows, please tell me.

Hey, MY sons aren't being drafted either. I am anti-war. It seems to me that the main reason the US is picking on Iran is because Iran said it won't trade oil for DOLLARS. I mean, it's all motivated by greed.
