Peter Schiff becoming a profit-less prophet (politician) makes
no sense to me.
He should become a radio and television personality -- he'd have more influence, make lots of investment money on the side (no one investigating him) and he'll get paid $5M per year (on radio/t.v)

Unless there's a lot of hidden profit to be made as a politician -- become a liberty lobbyist maybe?
It's not a free-market decision and we don't need another welfare recipient on the doles; there must be a hidden reason and I don't think it's to benefit the nation.
None of these goons had the idea to become a "self-less" politician untill they saw RP's (OUR) politicial war chest.
Besides if we want a free-society we must eliminate welfarism and there's no better place to start then political salaries and budgetary allowance.

Many of you do not know the Peter Schiff back story(some do)..
..cause if you did you would realize how much he is to be trusted completely! (the key in this is to see what motivates his heart) Speaking that Schiff is not to be trusted is just plain ignorance! (does he make a profit if you buy gold from his company..yes--HELLO THAT IS CAPITALISM!!)
Here is proof!! (remember Peter observed, and grew up around his father...) He witnessed firsthand what the gov did to him! So, he has a heart filled with some type of a vendetta for the FEDS, based on what they did to his dad)
His father (one of the original tax protesters) was stripped of his First Amendment right!! Then railroaded into prison! His book was banned from being sold in the USA !( why would the gov. ban a book, if it was not a threat to them?)
The Federal Mafia is a book written in prison[18] by Schiff. In the book, Schiff contended that the income tax system and Internal Revenue Service were illegal. On August 9, 2004, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld an injunction issued by a U.S. District Court in Nevada under 26 U.S.C. § 7408 against Irwin Schiff and associates Cynthia Neun and Lawrence Cohen, against the sale of this book by those persons.[19] This prohibition does not extend to other sellers of the book. The court rejected Schiff's contention on appeal that the First Amendment protects sales of the book, as the court found that the information it contains is fraudulent.
Schiff, Neun and Cohen are currently barred under the preliminary injunction from selling or advertising material advocating nonpayment of tax, preparing a tax return for others, and from otherwise providing assistance or encouragement to others in violating tax law. Schiff and his associates are additionally required to provide a copy of the injunction to each of their customers, to post it on their website, and to provide the government with a customer list.

If politics were a war ...Peter Schiff would be a neutron bomb!!
Think about it..he will leave the buildings standing (in Washington DC) but the people who are corrupt will be put to shame so bad that they may resign, quit, get impeached, or be forced out by their peers!! (in other words only the non-corrupt politicians will be left standing!!)
His (Peter) ethics are that impeccable!! (its hard for a person who is a known traitor to the USA to be able to stand in the same room as Peter Schiff!) This is what will happen when he goes to Washington DC!!

It seems to me that it would be a bad idea to trust Peter Schiff about ANYTHING, when he stands to profit by giving advice on gold, like he does. I makes me wonder about everything else he would stand to to profit from, through our votes and our hard earned money.

It's capitalism ... so, in the end - we have to DEMAND a better "product" - in our politicians, in our schools, and in our media!
Ted Andersen has the gold ... he gives us Alex Jones ... Kent Hovind gets tons of donations; and the IRS comes and takes away his property and throws him in Federal Prison because he is MORE persuasive about what it will take to CLEAN UP the corruption in our nation!

I half agree with you ... but I haven't seen Peter Schiff WASTE money stalling America with distractions and Marxist dogma that tears down our leaders to the point that people QUIT VOTING...
I just hope some capitalists would want to put me on the air to inspire people ... because I take it to the HEART of the BEAST...the fake Judeo-Christian ethic being enthroned to run America!

What you say makes good sense, but let's take time to use good discernment when replacing those gatekeepers. I'd hate to see one replaced by what might turn out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing, so to speak. Like someone else said earlier, fear based gold pushing is the free market at its worst. They are obscure, unorganized, inarticulate, each one getting along as best he can. They need to be encouraged and braced up because when everything has gone completely to the dogs, they are the ones who will come back and build up a new society. In the meantime, why make it worse by helping someone into office who has already shown that his loyalty lies with the greedy accumulation of GOLD and the selfish mindset that follows along with that?
