Over the past years it has been becoming harder and harder to go into the business of agriculture because of three simple letters: EPA. The EPA is the worst enemy of anyone attempting to become an Agricultural entrepreneur. Their latest strike has been against the dairy industry. Recently the EPA classified milk (yes, the kind you drink) as oil (yes, the kind they spilled in the Gulf).

The negative impact that this has on the dairy farmer is not immediately apparent until you understand the kind of regulations and sanctions placed on those who store oil on the premises of their business. They must all have special spill proof storage tanks in place. The EPA stipulates that anyone who stores more than 1,320 gal. of milk at a time must have these containers.

Let’s talk numbers: It would cost approximately $2,500 for a certified engineer to secure the milk plus whatever the cost may be to actually build these containers (this cost will vary based on the amount of milk you store). With 2,299 dairy farms in the state of Michigan alone it would cost $5.1 billion to safeguard all the milk there. This is $5.1 billion that the state of Michigan cannot afford to spend.

The entire agricultural industry will be destroyed by regulations if we do not stop the madness and control the EPA and other radical environmental agencies. We have to understand that the food on the shelves of the grocery stores does not get there by magic. It is supplied by the agricultural industry of America. That is one industry we cannot afford to destroy with regulations.

i watched this video lecture recently

and found it very refreshing to hear. its well worth the watch for anyone that doesnt think too deeply about the food they do and the consequences those foods have on us.

I don't think you read what Tom wrote. The EPA has classified milk as 'oil' therefore the dairy farmers will have to fork out almost $3,000 to 'comply' with this 'collectivistic' mandate. Do you see the scam in this?

I posted this to show all of you that our country is truly communist. This is what communism is. Unelected, appointed people imposing unlawful mandates through a system of force.

One need only ask, "I would gladly comply, but where in the Constitution does it grant you any authority to think you can just impose such ludicrous mandates, huh? Show me where you, EPA, have any authority whatsoever over my business, my farm, my property?

The title is a little misleading -- In Vegan circles this

phrasing is used to mean "end the milk consumption"

Those groups are probably working with those who'd turn milk into oil.

See how much better you feel. Babies need milk. Lactose intolerance is a blessing. Milk is one of those things that has cumulative effect and symptoms can take time to emerge. That sandwich that made you sick today may have actually been that milkshake from last week. Kiss sinus and inner ear infections goodbye also on a no dairy diet. I learned about milk by dealing with sinus infections. The stuff is no good.

Raw Milk and lots of fruit make milk consumption doable.

It's how the cows are treated.

Most vegans would not be vegans if we lived in a Pre-EPA, Pre-Farm Subsidy, and Pre-Monsanto world.

Back when we did not need terms for organic, free-range, anti-biotic free, etc etc etc.

Mike, are you referring to 'pastuerized milk' or 'raw milk'?

Our family stopped drinking and using pastuerized milk years ago when my kids were small.

We have been drinking raw milk for almost a year now with wonderful health benefits. No sinus, no ear infections, no stomach aches. My husband absolutely could not drink the stuff. But he has been taking raw milk a little at a time because he was afraid of the effects. But he doesn't get that from raw milk.

Just want to say there is a massive difference between these two 'agriculture methods'.

The UN Agenda 21 are attempting to impose all kinds of creepy infringements on farmers. They have done this incrementally for the past 100 years. This is nothing but harassment and inevitably this has led to the infringement of our freedom of choice in otherwise healthy food.

(sodium fluoride)is classified by the EPA as a toxic waste, to be disposed of in a manner likened to that of nuclear waste. Sodium fluoride must be carried by truck as rail is to risky. This stuff eats glass folks
it's that corrosive. As such upon it's creation if it is to be dumped into the actual water supplies of people who will drink it, cook with it and bathe in it magically it loses the toxicity label. This might seem a tad dramatic but it is poison and it's in 70% of the water supplies in the United States, add as much drama as you like, or not !!

The Problem With Pasteurization and Milk

There are so many unfavorable reports and studies on pasteurized milk made over the past few years. The main focus of the published reports seems to be on the health issues that commercial, pasteurized milk causes such as: intestinal colic, intestinal irritation, intestinal bleeding, anemia, allergic and sinus problems, and salmonella. pollution of milk by blood and white (pus) cells as well as a variety of hormones, chemicals and insecticides is a big cause for concern.

Raw milk sours naturally, but pasteurized milk turns putrid and thus manufactures must remove the slime and pus from pasteurized milk through centrifugal clearing.

Furthermore, inspection of dairy herds for disease is not even required for pasteurized milk.
I don’t know about you but I surely don’t want to be drinking milk from an infected cow

On the topic of pasteurization (and for that matter heating any food), according to Sally Fallon of the Weston Price Foundation:

“Heat alters milk’s amino acids, lysine and tyrosine, making the whole complex of proteins less available; it promotes rancidity of unsaturated fatty acids and destruction of vitamins. Vitamin C loss in pasteurization usually exceeds 50 percent; loss of other water-soluble vitamins can run as high as 80 percent. Pasteurization alters milk’s mineral components such as calcium, chlorine, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and sulphur as well as many trace minerals, making them less available. There is some evidence that pasteurization alters lactose, making it more readily absorbable.”

When milk is pasteurized, the delicate protein molecules are changed, making them much harder for our bodies to break down and digest. Pasteurized milk then puts an unnecessary strain on the pancreas to produce digestive enzymes to break this down.

This may be partly the reason why milk consumption has been linked with diabetes. It is also the reason behind many milk allergies. It is the protein portion-the casein-that becomes difficult to digest after pasteurization, thus causing reactions.

Like any dead enzyme-void food, pasteurized milk, puts an enormous strain on your body’s digestive system. In many cases, those with milk intolerance, leaky gut, or compromised digestion, these protein molecules pass through the intestinal walls into the blood stream, not fully digested.

This is the first step in the development of allergies and a host of other systemic problems such as auto-immune disorders.
Last but not least, pasteurization destroys all of the active and healthy enzymes in milk-in fact, the test for successful pasteurization is absence of enzymes.

These enzymes help the body break down and assimilate all the healthy nutrients in milk, including calcium. That is why those who drink pasteurized milk may suffer, nonetheless, from osteoporosis.

To hit home the problem with pasteurization, calves (baby cows) fed pasteurized milk die before maturity!
