For RJ Harris. Thank you.

There is no shame in trying, and in giving it all you've got. That goes for every one of us here.

We're just warming up.

Thank you for your inspiration, from me, and all of us here at the Daily Paul.

The true beauty of that clip is...(spoiler alert)

For those of you that have neither read nor seen Cuckoo's Nest, McMurphy (Nicholson) hatches a plan to escape the tyranny of the asylum with the Chief (big, silent guy holding the mop). McMurphy fails again, is rendered brain dead, and will never escape; the Chief, inspired by his friend's commitment, walks into the tub room, rips the fixture from the ground, and hurls it through the window. The movie ends with the Chief lumbering towards the horizon.

Keep it up Liberty candidates, don't get discouraged. Someday, in the not too distant future, you will break through Washington's window; and we'll be there beside you, lumbering towards freedom.

Thanks RJ...

Our fight continues every day with every post and in every conversation we have. We're rebuilding the conversation that the founders had in an environment and culture that's negative to it. I say in every way and in a very short time we've made great strides. $10 dollars for liberty, every candidate, everywhere, every time.

The only security for freedom is security through freedom.

Don't give up!

Thank you.

Thank you, RJ. You'll win next time. BJ Lawson found that out this year.

Thank You to Everyone

I wanted to thank everyone for the support and warm words.

From RJ:

"My heartfelt thanks to all of you that worked so hard on this campaign and for those that donated and voted to and for RJ Harris 2010. Raising just over 62K we ran a great race and put up a respectable showing against an opponent with 10 times that amount to spend against us. While you remain, so will I to fight for Liberty."

PS: Michael ... your video helped me to laugh away the apathy. Thank you for all that you do and everyone here at the Daily Paul!

Good clip. It's a nice way

Good clip. It's a nice way to sum up the progress of the liberty candidates, and that's not an insult. At least they tried. Here at the DP, we've witnessed the fall of Debra Medina, Adam Kokesh, and now RJ Harris, and they've all been as true as a liberty candidate can get. They've been chewed up, beat up, and spit out, but remain a big inspiration for the promotion of liberty.

Thank you RJ for giving it a go. The education that you provided to the people during your campaign will soon resonate with those who may have scoffed you in the past.

Thank you RJ for giving me a vote I could feel good about.

Thank you RJ for giving me a vote I could feel good about. I only wish it would have been a victory. RJ you stuck your neck out when not even a democrat would...the only challenge to Tom Cole the 4 term career politician was one solitary man...RJ Harris and he worked hard.

By the way 9,592 votes with virtually no advertising at all. I never saw a sign or commercial and can only imagine what your votes would have been with more finances to get your name out there and if more folks would have put signs out. I wish I had.

If more people knew about you, could hear you speak, and know you it would have been a landslide. Cole is liked by very few republicans, but his name was simply familiar to them.

My friends all voted for you though and I know for a fact more would have had they known.

Incumbents on both sides won in Oklahoma...sad.

You are very accurate here

Oklahoma is a tough state, regardless of how "conservative" it is perceived. Witness the big victory by Mary Fallin for governor, a pretty, fair-haired establishment politician who looks good and says all the right things, but is completely ineffective. Sure she will be better than the liberal Jari Askins, but this state, like the 49 other states, must face very hard economic choices over the next 4 years. I don't think Mary has the spine to make the right decisions.

The 4th district is prime ground for someone like Cole, who can snake his way around issues and still get people to support him. The 4th has two major military bases, and is prime picking for a neocon.

Republicans in the district are extremely ignorant. I spoke with two elderly ladies in the 4th the other day, one of whom had a Tom Cole sign in her yard. I asked them if they were aware of Cole's voting record on several key issues, and they told me they were not. When I informed them, they were shocked, and indicated they would vote for RJ.

I guarantee you that of the 32,000 that voted for Cole, probably 20,000 don't have a clue how this man has voted on major issues over the last two years.

I also was very disappointed that RJ's TV ads did not run. If you are going to beat an establishment incumbent like Cole, you have to run constant TV and radio ads and hit HARD. Otherwise, you have no chance.

This is an important lesson for candidates to be. As Gary North says, you cannot beat something with nothing. It takes MAJOR DOLLARS to win these campaigns. To simply run for "educational purposes" is a waste of time. We are running out of time for this nation, and sadly it is just about too late for "education." It's about like teaching a soldier at the Alamo or the Little Big Horn how to use a rifle just prior to the battle; it's a little too late for that.

R Harris

Why did RJ'S TV ads not run?

I noticed above that you wrote TV ads did not run. Was that a decision made by the campaign? Did you have TV ads ready to run but not run them?

Look, anyone can candy coat things. But the fact is getting beaten more than 3-1 is a major whipping. Those are the types of spreads Castro used to win by in Cuba. That means RJ Harris didn't show up on the radar at all. The way campaign pros figure it, in a two way race about 15% are going to trip on their way into the voting booth and hit your name by accident. No candidate in a two way race gets less than 15%. Then there are always a small number of protest votes, which vary on the top end but are always about 10 percent at the low end. So, that's about what the campaign got.

That means maybe a handful of people actively voted for RJ Harris. And that's abysmal. With TV ads, that number would have to increase dramatically. I've seen some video of the candidate and he's a good candidate. So, the original question stands. What did the campaign do with 60,000 plus dollars to essentially get the number of votes they'd get if no campaign was run at all?

Thank you

Everything starts with a beginning. The "shot heard 'round the world." Dr Paul has said over and over once you become aware of the truth you have a responsibility to spread the message. RJ you really embody that ideal and I'm very thankful for everything you've done. I'm proud to say I contributed to your campaign and I hope I have the opportunity to do so again and to help you go for the win. Think of all the people you've touched with the message of freedom. Thank you.

I second that notion..Thank you!

Not sure what we have to do going forward but somehow the message has to get through. The establishment has a stanglehold on our country. Anyway to RJ you did an excellent job and certainly laid the way for future liberty candidates. Similar to Medina in Texas. Our numbers will continue to grow if not just little slower than we would like.
Good luck in the future in all your endeavors.

AGREE to FIGHT!

Stop strategizing and arm-chair-quarterbacking HOW "We The People" will respond to the LIBERTY message!

JUST SAY IT!

"Come out from among them and be ye separate"!

Time to break out the "Don't

Time to break out the "Don't Blame Me I Voted for RJ Harris" bumper stickers

Thank YOU RJ!

Thank you for taking it to the next level by standing up and entering the political arena to fight for We The People thru education and conviction.

It takes a very special person to do what you have done. You are truly a very honorable man in my book. And the video clip you put on the thread shows indeed that giving it all you got is indeed honorable - regardless of the outcome. You did your best and for that you need to rest easy. You made a difference - a big difference. Of all the dumbed down that still don't get it there are many that do, because of you.

You worked hard - so very hard. And yes it is the beginning and yes we will prevail. Truth always does and it will always be a battle to be fought.

Look how long it has taken the GOOD doctor to be recognized for his philosophies, wisdom, common sense and dogged determination and commitment. It took years. We're not going to win this war overnight AND I truly believe the tide IS turning.

And because of your efforts RJ - it is indeed!

You have done accomplished a mighty endeavor - Thank you!

Thank you for your efforts, we really appreciate it.

Prepare & Share the Message of Freedom through Positive-Peaceful-Activism.

Running for any public office is a new

job and skill which takes time to not only learn but time to build name recognition. The reality is, it often takes more than one run to be successful, (take Reagan for example).

It also takes courage and guts to not only run, but to be able to loose and come back. Give it some time and see if you still have those stirrings in your heart.

Also think about those dark times during the Revolutionary War and all the physical and mental challenges they endured and overcame. I know the Daily Paul people admire and respect you and greatly appreciated your herculean effort.

Thanks R.J. for your great effort and sacrifice.
