Nullify Now!

Did you know that states don’t have to obey unconstitutional federal legislation forced upon them?

Virginia, Utah, Idaho, and other states are fighting the federal healthcare law. Arizona is protecting its borders. Washington State, Oklahoma, and Tennessee are fighting cap-and-trade legislation. Eight states are standing up for gun rights. Twenty-five states have effectively blocked the 2005 Real ID Act…

When a state ‘nullifies’ a federal law, it is proclaiming that the law in question is void and inoperative, or ‘non-effective,’ within the boundaries of that state; or, in other words, not a law as far as that state is concerned.

Nullify Now! is a multi-city event tour focused on education and activism on a state level to say NO to unconstitutional federal “laws” – which, in reality, are not laws at all.

World-class speakers like Thomas E. Woods will be on hand to explain just what nullification is, and how it works – both in history and right now.

Woods, who is the NY Times Best-selling author of Meltdown and The Politically-Incorrect Guide to American History, has his latest book on sale now. In Nullification: How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21 Century, he explains:

  • How we can roll back Obamacare, cap and trade, and other unconstitutional expansions of federal power through nullification
  • Why the Founding Fathers believed that nullification was the “moderate middle ground,” not the road to secession
  • Why the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution gives the states the power to nullify unconstitutional laws
  • Why states – not the Supreme Court – should arbitrate disputes between the states and the federal government over the constitutionality of the federal government’s actions.

Other speakers in various locations include Jack Hunter of the American Conservative Magazine, and Jim Babka, president of DownsizeDC.

As Thomas Jefferson said, there is a “rightful remedy” to the federal government’s uncontrollable quest for power – it’s called Nullification

Defending United States Federalism Act of 2011

Defending United States Federalism Act of 2011

In order to defend the liberties and rights of Citizens of the United States of America, the Attorney Generals of the fifty United States may nullify a federal law passed by the Congress or a President's Executive Order by a simple majority vote.

Executive orders from the

Executive orders from the President need to be ignored, other than by people under the Executive Branch of the federal government. The last time I looked, the president wasn't proclaimed dictator yet.

Read your Constitution: ALL legislative authority is in the hands of the Congress. Any any law that is not authorized by the specific powers enumerated in Article 1, Section 8 needs to be NULLIFIED by the various states. Let's restore Constitutional government.

Really? I was referring to

Really? I was referring to the E.O. that have effect on whatever State's citizens. And E.O.s aren't "ignored" now, so I don't know what counter-solution you are offering (I suppose none).

Read my Constitution? How about use your brain. The idea for the AGs to nullify unconstitutional federal laws was not my idea -- was recently on TV somewhere. I was just writing it satirically.

I think your problem is that

I think your problem is that you don't know how to communicate. I pointed out that the Constitution states that ALL legislative power is in the hands of the Congress. That means that there is NO legislative power in the Executive Branch. Do I have to make that clearer to you?

Since this president, and previous presidents seem to ignore the Constitution, it is up to the states to bring the limitations on his authority to his attention.

Is this clear now?

Repeal the 17th Amendment before giving legislative veto

power to the State executive branches. It was set up for the Senate to represent the States, and as it is, States have no representation in Congress. I think it would be wiser to give that a chance prior to trying some new concept.

Undo what Wilson did

I agree, this is the most critical issue for regaining control. But the only time I've ever seen it mentioned on national TV was the other day on Comedy Central.

Jon Stewart threw it in, something like "he believes state legislatures should elect US Senators", in between all sorts of crazy and discriminatory positions on immigration from some national politician.

Either way, my point isn't one or the other. However, the issue of nullification and a Protect Federalism Law is MUCH MORE LIKELY to gain support at the moment, especially considering Missouri's recent vote.

I agree!

Our Marxists Governor of WI

Our Marxists Governor of WI is not running for re-election and we have a great chance of getting a Nullification Governor in Mark Neumann. Nuemann was a Congressman during the Contract with America and stood up to Newt and his bullies and took them head on.

Mark Neumann for Governor in Wisconsin! Tom Woods will be in Eau Claire WI on August 28th speaking about Nullification and I can't go :(
