Not to discourage, but the average numbers are probably inflated. If you looked at Nov. 5th the average donation gradually slid downward from about 140 to 80. There's a bias upfront since some donors are dropping huge amounts. As more people donate and donate in smaller chunks, I'd expect the average to come out around 100-115 again.
Not to say the results will be any less shocking. I just think the numbers will come from more donors rather than larger donations.
Then again, I was going to double mine about, so what do I know?

both averages are skewed today because the more ardent supporters are heavily represented. The average donation will probably drop, but I expect the average hourly rate to increase during the day.

but the post is comparing all-day stats from the 5th with partial day stats for today. Apples to oranges. For instance, the hourly average on the 5th at 3am was lower than the all-day average.
