Is it a "religous" thread?

Is it just history?

And Elohim spoke all these Words:

1. ‘I am YaHUaH your Elohim, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

You shall have no other elohim before My face.

2. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the Earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, Yahuah your Elohim, am a jealous Elohim, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments.

3. You shall not cast the Name of Yahuah your Elohim to ruin, for Yahuah will not hold anyone guiltless who casts His Name to ruin.

4. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it qodesh.

Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahuah your Elohim.

On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days Yahuah made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and He rested on the seventh day.

Therefore Yahuah blessed the Sabbath day and made it qodesh.

5. Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land Yahuah your Elohim is giving you.

6. You shall not murder.

7. You shall not adulterate.

8. You shall not steal.

9. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

10. You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

"If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve Me; if you utter worthy, not worthless, words, you will be My spokesman.” - Jer (YermeYahu) 15:19

Repost- cultural Marxists here at the Daily Paul

"Sometimes the conspiracies are real"
And sometimes they are merely incidental:
I wonder about many of the cultural Marxists here at the Daily Paul who fashion themselves libertarian.
For example, stridently international free-trade and open borders positions are anti-sovereignty and globalist (or anarchistic), and have nothing to do with actual Constitutional liberty.
Another much more common example includes any of the various and venomous anti-religious or pro-deviant positions (where opponents are "-phobes" of one sort or another) are dupes of the ongoing Marxist deconstructionist cultural revolution with its roots in places like the Frankfurt School.
These positions, frequently and understandably confused with support for liberty, enforce a view that nothing is wrong except that which opposes the permanent revolution that will ultimately dissolve nations, families, and other institutions in which our freedoms were cultivated in the first place.

sorry..cough..choke..got

sorry..cough..choke..got gagged with a spoon..YES yet another religious thread spouting concepts and ideas that hold no weight in reality. PLEASE stop. Like someone said, our religions or non religions do not matter in a free society. Please go post them on some other site. PLEASE. I beg u..

This is obviously a religious thread

So I am not sure why it is posted here except for controversy. However, I do have to say that the 10 commandments are actually quite relevant and should hold weight in reality. Just think if they, at least the last 6, were faithfully followed. The world would be a much better place. :)

You forgot some "history"

What about his parents, Brahma and Ishtar? What about the other 7 commandments on the first set of stones and the 12 new ones on the second set? Where are the punishments? Why did you leave out part of #1 about being jealous of the other gods? Come to think of it, why did you not mention Brahma and his commandments given to the Sumerians? Why did Yahuah break from his creator gods?

So many unanswered questions....

Look, I can appreciate your intent. But, to be completely frank, you really cannot claim something is "history" without first hand accounts or some evidence (like, oh, the stone tablets that Yahuah wrote on (instead of giving the people paper-wouldn't that have been a pain-saver for Moses)). And, we all know that these stories were written down long after they supposedly happened. I understand the axiom that anything written long ago was by the "hand of God" through humans after they developed writing - but you cannot claim it is history.

I know there is a rash of religiosity lately on DP - but, and I could be wrong, I think most of us here are old enough to have already solidified our religous or nonreligious points of view. Not saying you can't or shouldn't - just saying it may be a waste of your time.

Always your friend in Liberty,

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

Thanks for your thoughts

You can find the other commandments as well as the punishments(Cause/Effect) in what we call the Hebrew Scripture.

Yes, I know there are parallels between these laws and the laws of other people. I also know the treasure of Truth in His Name. Is there salvation in the names of those other "mighty ones" you mentioned? I don't think so.

Hear, O Israel: YHUH our God YHUH one. And thou shalt love YHUH thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Thanks for acknowledging the missing writings

But, truth be told, I do not need salvation - I am a Libertarian and a freethinker - the idea of salvation is the way to slavery and servitude to the church/state.
And, I don't need to be born again - I was born right the first time.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

The chuch/state

had me by the balls. I was their slave because I was under oath. Truth IS salvation. And we all need it.

You can serve them, you can serve your body, you can serve your individual self.

I want to be a servant of truth. So as for me I will serve יהוה[YaHUaH].

3 Choices(at least for me):

Obey the state/church
Obey the self
Obey יהוה[the "I AM"]

Hear, O Israel: YHUH our God YHUH one. And thou shalt love YHUH thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

it's always been easy for me to see the wisdom . . .

in the 10 commandments, but I can't see how following them could hurt anyone--

ah well--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

I have heard it said...

...the PURPOSE of the 10 commandments was to PROVE we couldn't obey them! We're a sinful lot; so, since everyone is equal - and subject to the Laws of nature's God equally - let's SEE who knows more, and has political views more in line with REVERENCE for obeying the Creator's laws.

What did Ron Paul say?

"Defiance of God's Law will eventually bring havoc to a society.”

I am NOT perfect either - but I HATE, and I am at WAR with lying Republicans and their Christian charlatan circus of supporters who serve MONEY, not God; and certainly NOT our posterity!

I do this in DEFENSE of my children!!!

Where are the other 600 or so commandments? :)

I got these gems. The obviously genius laws lend credibility to the less obvious. Remember the Name is key.

"Magnify Yahuah with me; let us exalt his name together." (Psalm 34)

Hear, O Israel: YHUH our God YHUH one. And thou shalt love YHUH thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Yah-hu-uah is supposed to translate into

"I am who I am"

But the Hebrew words here are Ahayah-Asher-Ahayah (Yah-Hu-Yah and thus Yah-Hu-Uah both derive from this older spelling and pronunciation)

Ahayah comes from Sanskrit and means "snake." (which is probably why a snake was used in the story of Original Sin - the act of self awareness through eating the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge. "I am" is not possible without knowledge of the self's existence.)

Asher is the male form of Asherah, a female fertility goddess of the Canaanites that the Hebrews at the time were also worshiping. (from this we derive Isis, Esther and Easter, hence bunnies which are very fertile as symbols during the Spring Equinox)

By the time of Moses and the Ten Commandments, Asherah (the consort of Baal) had become a generic term for goddess. (just as Baal had) It is something like trying to make a present person a generic term like the phrase "the Bill Gates of this world" or "he's a Warren Buffet." Moses comes down from the mountain at one point and admonishes the Hebrews against worshiping the Baals and Asherahs of this world. (they were a polytheistic bunch at this time and remained so until sometime during the Babylonian captivity)

So Asherah means "goddess", and Asher being the male form means "god" or "lord."

Thus Ahayah-Asher-Ahayah which allegedly means "I am who I am" also translates to more ancient language into:

Snake, Father of Snakes

or

Snake, Lord of Snakes

Yep, it is all in a name...

Clear proof

They are all just a bunch of snakes.

Interesting

I was not aware of the snake translation. I was under the impression that יהוה[YaHUaH] meant the "He is" Elohim. I was thinking it was a reference to the Ahayah of Exodus 3:14. You have given me much to think about! Do you have any resources you could point me toward?

'Have You Eaten of the Tree?'
--- by Paul Hoover
. . And the fourth river is the Euphrates
The first day was a long day
and the first night nearly eternal.
No thing existed, and only One was present
to perceive what wasn’t there.
No meaning as we know it;
difference was bound in the All.
On the first day, water,
on the second day, land,
on the third day, two kinds of light,
one of them night.
On the fourth day, laughter,
and darkness saw it was good.
But when God laughed,
a crack ran through creation.
On the fourth night, sorrow,
staring away from heaven,
torn in its ownness.
No evidence then of nothing,
but worlds upon worlds,
underwritten, overflowing:
the worlds of fear and of longing,
lacking in belief,
and the pitiful world of love,
forever granting its own wishes.
Out of dust, like golems,
God created man and woman,
and cast them into chance.
And man was subdued in those days.
All that could leap, leapt;
all that could weep, wept.
First of all places, Eden;
last of all places, Cleveland;
and a river flowed out of Eden,
inspiring in the dry land
a panic of growth and harvest season.
The newly formed creation
took from flesh its beast
and from each word its sentence.
And early loves and hatreds blew
from thistle to thorn.
Each thing that God created,
he placed before man
so that he may name it:
cloudbank, hawk’s eye, lambkin,
and for each thing that man made,
God provided the name:
andiron, Nietzsche, corporation.
All speak of pain
subtle in its clamor,
as when the child, dying,
sinks into its skin
as under public snow.
Heartrending, each termination;
God-shaken, each beginning.
At the dawn of smoke,
pungent as creation,
the long chaos rises over these trees.
For we opened our eyes in Eden,
with the taste of fruit on our lips.
