Comedian Doug Stanhope supports Ron Paul
Submitted by Acala on Sun, 12/16/2007 - 07:46I went to see comedian Doug Stanhope last night. He is hilarious (but this one is NOT for the kids). He spent at LEAST ten minutes of his show promoting Ron Paul to a packed house!!! Among other things, he talked about how foolish people are to think that just because they share skin color or genital type with a candidate that they are somehow on the same "team". He talked about how he switched his registration to Republican so he could vote for Ron Paul. Someone heckled him about being a Republican and he said "I'm also an Aries. And it means about as much." Funny stuff.
When I bought one of his cds after the show, I asked him to sign it for me and this is how he signed it: "Ron Paul '08! Doug Stanhope"

You might want to thank him. Or buy a cd. And go to his show when it comes to your town. (If you aren't easily offended). He is REALLY trying to help the campaign. And he is REALLY funny.

The person who says we should remember Doug when everyone else is on board is right. Go to his act wearing a Ron Paul shirt if you can. (Sadly, he doesn't have a road schedule for next year up on his site yet, but I'll pester the guy.)

Penn's good at upsetting conservatives, but so am I, and I'm more-conservative FISCALLY than 'bout any "conservative" I've ever met. Bar none.
Does he make B...S... episodes about the Bible? Yeah, he's an atheist. He lives a hedonistic lifestyle, too. So what? I've seen no evidence he's anything but an excellent CAPITALIST. He's sure getting MY money the next time I'm in Vegas...What socialist candidates/ideas has Penn supported?
And I would not be surprised if he and Teller supported our man, but we should not expect support like Doug's. All we get to do is want it.

I saw Doug's Orlando Backbooth show.
He's a HILARIOUS guy, and he was also VERY nice about Dr. Paul and nasty about all the others that night. I said something that caused him to go off on a rant about the Brits and socialized medicine + gun control. Did "Bingo" attend your show? Crazy = hot! ;) If you can get to one of his shows, especially wearing a RP shirt, DO IT. Unless you're easily offended, that is. Then stay home & just be glad Stanhope's not against us. ;) As Acala said, he can handle hecklers.
Doug was the first and only-so-far mention of Dr. Paul (totally-positive) on the Howard Stern show, where we're now apparently running commercials. Proof at least SOME of my official donations are going to good use. If we managed to get RP Girl Liv on the show, it would be great if Doug were there that day, too.
Stanhope rocks. IMO it takes real balls as a comic to want a man like Ron Paul in the Oval Office when he could instead be doing anything possible to get Clinton or Rudy back into the Oral Office & praying for another chubby intern to bless all comics with another decade of easy BJ material. And sexually, there's no difference between Rudy & Slick, so there's equal likelihood of a repeat-performance if America makes the same mistake twice. But with help like Stanhope's, we won't.

Feedom brings us together
Doug Stanhope is just another example of what Dr. Paul says about freedom bringing us together. Doug Stanhope has a lifestyle that is about as far away from Dr. Paul's as one could imagine. Yet Doug is very supportive of Dr. Paul because Dr. Paul stands for freedom.
The diversity of Ron Paul supporters is one of the most amazing things about this campaign. It is also one of the most promising. If SO many people with such different backgrounds come together because of the MESSAGE of freedom, doesn't that mean that the message of freedom will win eventually?

He did this one bit where he was talking about the cheese steak place in Philly that put up that sign "To order you must speak in English." he went on to say "If the guy can only speak spanish how the **** is he going to read a sign in English?"
