People should use the idiot media

We should set the media up for free coverage.
Find a good candidate getting ignored and say he did something then laugh as the media tries to smear him, while I go to a different outlet and say that media source lied.

Rand needs to learn from his dad (in many ways)

and not let himself be sandbagged like this. He can just make a short statement of how off-topic such inanities are, in the context of the real problems this country faces;

The anonymous attack deserves no credibility and should just be labeled a lie and MOVE ONE to the issues that are important and that these status quo reporters don't talk about, but waste tv time on distracting trivialities.

Rand needs to go a bit more in attack mode, in a nice way like his father, and demand better interviewing, focused on the true issues where he does have some strength compared to his opponents. In other words he need to LEAD the conversation, not be led wherever the interviewer wants it to go.

Cavuto is garbage who lacks

Cavuto is garbage who lacks complete journalistic integrity

Easy on the name calling pardner! Neil is one of the fairest of the fair. He is more of a friend than you apparently know. How long have you been a member here?

Are you being sarcastic?

Cavuto wants to bring up petty dirt and be the first to do it. That's why you never hear any of these petty claims in any other TV interviews.

Remember this? How petty was this attack?

But hey, if you like Cavuto, then you're by yourself on this one. He may pretend to side with Ron/Rand but he is always looking for a way to take them down. He wants to do it so badly so he can one-up all his colleagues who failed.

Come on

Have you seen what we have out there? Cavuto is one of the better ones, and he comes down on the side of the likes of RP on the vast majority of issues.

I did not think this interview was unfair, and Rand handled it fine.

I think Rand did well

in this interview! Cavuto and other MSM actors try to bring everything down to a 'Jerry Springer' 'National Enquirer' level and call it 'news' I wish they would spend the air time asking intelligent questions about real issues!

"I think we are living in a world of lies: lies that don't even know they are lies, because they are the children and grandchildren of lies." ~ Chris Floyd

Cavuto had more journalistic class on these issues than others

Rand was better able to field Neil's questions because they were well pitched. Not softballs, nor spitballs, Cavuto kept sending them across the plate, inside the strike zone. And Rand was up to the challenge. I agree, he did well.

I believe the press deserves a legal spanking for falsely accusing Rand of a crime, kidnapping, for which even the anonymous witness did not accuse him of, but then even bothering to fight it gives it a life of its own.

I thought he did OK, but needs some rhetorical training

Rand lacks the polish of a professional politician, but who here wants more professional politicians?!

If Cavuto spoke to me that way in a studio, I'd be tempted to lean across the desk and grab his larynx. Fortunately, Rand keeps his cool while still allowing through an appropriate degree of genuine revulsion and indignation.

He needs to learn the art of responding to questions without affirming the question. His being manipulated by Cavuto into repeatedly denying having kidnapped someone is unacceptably dangerous. He really needs training on how to re-frame and re-direct a discussion while making an inappropriate questioner look sleazy for hitting below the belt.

Electorally, the lack of polish is a challenge, but a lot of unpolished candidates do win. People are pretty hard on him, here included. What we get in a Paul, Schiff, Didier, etc. is the unpolished masses trying to take our government back. It's not always pretty, but the alternative is a Palin or a Romney. It's excruciatingly hard work: Give the guy a break.

Television: Why do you think they call it "programming"?

I'm no Fox fan, but Cavuto did alright by me

You have got to expect that things would get dicey for both of them to do what each had to do in running the "news" gauntlet that, I believe, neither wanted to run.

I don't think Cavuto had it out for Rand in any way, but Rand's candor didn't flow well at times, making their banter over these hit pieces less effective at redirecting attention to the promoting of Rand's ideas.

Clarity and sincerity on the things that really matter give Rand and others the advantage, while polished acting only makes Progs and Neo-cons less openly offensive.

yikes, why respond at all

One anonymous accuser - IGNORE IT.

Every time you deny it, you look like an idiot, and you are reminding everyone what you are accused of.

k, I don't know what the hell

k, I don't know what the hell this accusation is all about but Rand, like in every stinkin interview, handled it horribly. I've said it once and I'll say it again, Rand Paul is the WORST thing that ever could've happened to the Liberty movement.

Disagreement is one thing, trashing Ron's son here on this site is another.

It's not that you voiced an opinion and got banned, It is the way you chose to voice it in this and the other comment you left about him.

That could have been done with a little more eloquence and consideration.

Hey Revere -

I may be letting my personal feelings influence this reply, but you have a big mouth.

What are you doing for the liberty movement other than typing trash about someone who is making a real impact?

You don't know Rand Paul. I do. His understanding of liberty, the proper role of government, and his devotion to constitutional rule of law is unparalleled.

If you wish he would lose, then you really don't have much to offer us here at DailyPaul...so go take a long walk off a short plank, punk.

You can go and send your $20 to the DNC and enjoy your healthcare. We will continue the good fight.

Wow! Matt!,When I see a post from this gentleman,

I know something serious has been said. Thanks,How are things in the Paul camp?

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

Yep, makes sense. Ron Paul's

Yep, makes sense. Ron Paul's son (Who agrees with Ron 95%+ of the time) likely to be elected as U.S. Senator is the worst thing that has ever happened to the liberty movement. Right. Makes sense. Not. What liberty movement are YOU talking about? Not mine.

Why does Hannity have to badger

him like that, Rand did well..considering :p

The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!

Actually that was Cavuto.

Actually that was Cavuto.

Cavuto has always treated Rand poorly. He'll badger him and he'll call him names. In another interview, Cavuto said to Rand "why do people call you and your family cheap?"

see at 4:50
Rand plays it off well, takes no umbrage, and doesn't react heatedly like I would.

I would like to ask Cavuto, why are you asking me that? and what does that have anything to do with the news? If Cavuto wants to run a gossip column--go for it! Cavuto is not news-worthy. He should be doing the weather or something. He's a dirtbag. His show sucks and Fox would do well to pull him.

Problem is, Rand probably did

Problem is, Rand probably did do some silly thing, and UNlike most politicians he will not just flippantly lie about anything. That's why he comes off like this. He is an honest man, and I would LOVE and lOVE to have him win.

I do get them mixed up.

I agree, the best medium for his journalistic tripe is in a news rag.

As long as a person like him

As long as a person like him can make headlines or provoke guests into blowing up on their program, they keep their job.

I liked that interview

from the reactions of Rand I get the feeling the Aqua Buddha stuff is true, which I think is funny as hell. Kidnapping, no way.
