Rand's Lead over Conway Narrows: 45% - 40% w/ 4% Error Margin

Kentucky Senate GOP candidate Rand Paul may have recently been the butt of bong jokes aplenty in the national press, but so far he’s maintaining a lead - albeit a narrow one - with likely voters in the November general election race against state attorney general Jack Conway.

A new Reuters/Ipsos poll of likely voters shows Paul leading 45 percent to Conway’s 40. (Among registered voters, it’s a dead heat, 40-40 percent.)

Come on people! Are we going to let Rand lose to this guy?

Jack Conway has better hair

...so it's no wonder Rand is struggling. Don't y'all know anything?

i dont suspect vote fraud in

i dont suspect vote fraud in every election but ime suspecting it in this one. we need to humiliate conway .

Isn't it time to be cautious

Isn't it time to be cautious about the polls going on? It is almost predictable that the establishment would do anything to lessen Rand Paul's grip on the upcoming elections. Does it make sense his poll numbers would decline so rapidly but his popularity is increasing???

I have a feeling if Rand Paul

I have a feeling if Rand Paul had taken more principled stances on the issues like his father, and avoided being the stereotypical Republican candidate, and had avoided all these gaffes and media bumps, he would have a larger lead in the polls. He also would probably have more enthusiastic support and fundraising from the liberty movement....

It's good he's trying to refocus his message on the economic issues... but he's been disappointing in his rhetoric on things like foreign policy, the wars, drug policy, etc. It's like he's too afraid to make a mistake/afraid of the consequences.... It's too bad because he's articulate enough that he could probably explain and maintain strong positions on those issues.... instead he's wading into typical Republican territory with stupid unnecessary positions on things like the 'ground zero mosque', etc.

I am pretty close to kentucky.

and I would like to donate time and effort to this. do we have anything going on there?
are we all going to meet at Oruvals house?

I vote

we meet at Oruvals house. Thats on DPer I'd like to meet in person fer sure. :)

Free Beer and Pizza at Oruval's house!!

for all Rand Paul volunteers!
do you think we should let him know about it first? or would it be better to surprise him?
decisions, decisions......

Wasn't Rand leading by 10-15%

Wasn't Rand leading by 10-15% at one time?

At one time, yes

The MSM has been chipping away - hammering away at him.

The abuse will only get worse once the ads start running and the heat gets turned up after Labor day.

To be mean is never excusable, but there is some merit in knowing that one is; the most irreparable of vices is to do evil out of stupidity. - C.B.

I don't really see why what

I don't really see why what the MSM has done would drop his lead that much. The claim that he was racist and that he kidnapped some girl or something - those are really stupid allegations. We didn't see any immediate change in support after the "rand wants to repeal the civil rights act" claim... Then 3 months later after some silly allegation its all of a sudden tied. I don't buy it.

Are Rand's supporters really going to vote for Jack Conway? I don't think so. So where is the extra Conway support coming from?

But a 4% error of margin is huge. That could be 50% to 40% or 41% to 40%, etc.

Usually the error margins are a bit smaller, they choose the larger margin error to make the race look closer.

Jack is hiding out in the bushes, waiting for October

For an October surprise.

That's when he'll jump out of the bushes with a high priced media barrage of negative advertising.

Bump for Rand

I look forward to Rand's filibusters. I couldn't stand to see this clown Conway in the Senate. Someone has to talk some sense into this country, and it ain't going to be Jack.

Rand I know you'll do your father, the movement, and your country proud.

Bump ....

Let's put the EAGLE EYE out on this guy.......

IMO, it's being set-up

for a voter-fraud job.

Prior to voter-fraud attempts, it is typical for pollsters to make a line of "close-running polls", where it looks like it could go either way.
Then they swing it with their voter-fraud apparatus, and people think, "Well, it was a close race, and my guy just didn't quite make it in".

Watch for it.

Most importantly, what would

Most importantly, what would this do to Ron's possible presidential run if Rand were to lose to this scumbag?

No kidding

Who is going to help Ron Paul 2012 more?

Rand Paul, Senator from Kentucky, or
Rand Paul, eye doctor from Kentucky?

Every dollar counts!

This race will be close - Jack Conway will have special interest money from all sorts of statist groups.

We need to give Rand support!

Thank you

It will be tight. The ads will start rolling after Labor Day and it will be brutal.

We'll need as much ammo as we can get.
