This was fascinating. That is the first I've ever heard of
the "Manager's Amendment" and how it is currently mis-used to literally re-write whole bills the night before in the Rules Committee, so they can't be read (the Patriot Act)!!! I would like to know who the Rules Committee chairman is. Dr. Paul has predicted what is going to happen in the future, and has laid out our purpose: to have enough Constitutional allies to replace the collapsed system with Constitution, sound money, free market, private property rights. We must warn our friends of the dangers and explain what we need to do.

I agree. A major collapse of the economy is coming and we should be ready for it. The collapse will provide an opportunity to address the problem that allows for the corruption we have in our government today. The Constitution itself is so flawed it needs to be scraped or amended to have a balance of power between the people/States and the Fed. The current structure of the Constitution provides the Fed with all of the power. The only rights the people and States have is what the Fed says they are. The current system of government invites the tyrants. I spoke with Tom Woods about this and his response was "exactly".
BTW: I hope you made it to the Summit in Orlando. My wife won the drawing for two tickets to the dinner with Tom Woods.

Dr. Paul say this and would have to hear more from Dr. Woods on this. The Constitution does not give the Fed all the power, what are you talking about? Have you read the 9th and 10th amendments? And C4L FL just came out with a Constitution booklet that includes the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions. You can get tyrants in any system, but the people need to be able to hold their elected officials accountable, and that is not being done. I think that can be done without a constitutional amendment. That's awesome that your wife won the tickets for the dinner with Dr. Woods!

Reality is the Fed has all of the power. They control the courts, taxes and collections, and the military. They make the rules. When the Fed has an issue with the States and people the Supreme Court (the Fed) makes the rules. Where is the balance of power? When the people and States have an issue with the Fed who is the arbitrator and judge for the people? No document has much relevance if it cannot be enforced. I wish this fact was not so. If we had a balance of power that could be enforced we would not have the problems we have today.

If he does run I hope his campaign will use the Internet to its fullest potential.
Develop a Ron Paul 2012 web site and use it to air Youtubes on all of his campaign speeches addressing the issues of the day. He could run 10 second ads on MSM using a hook to get viewers to go to the Ron Paul 2012 site for the whole story. A slick 10 second ad could double or triple the value of his advertizing dollars.

Obviously Ron wasn't going to say he would be running or confirm those rumors, but the vibe that I got from this conversation is that Ron is very open to running again. So I'm surprisingly happy. I'm not a fan of rumors, but I really hope Collins was 100% sure Ron would run when he leaked his information, otherwise that would be grossly irresponsible of him. Either way Ron's response here was encouraging.

Collins heard the same message that many other people at the FL C4L convention which is that Dr. Paul is open to running, but that it depends on the health of his wife, Carol.
It was an irresponsible message Collins communicated and highly disrespectful to Dr. Paul.
Dr. Paul is a FREE MAN and human being. Is it not Dr. Paul's prerogative to announce his OWN candidacy?
It is not our decision to make. That said, we should attempt to POLITELY and RESPECTFULLY influence him. :)
However, it should be upon no individual (including Collins) to make the announcement FOR him.

I just assumed that someone else knew him personally or thought maybe he said something at the breakfast the following morning which I didn't attend. We ran with a rumor and shouldn't have.

I attended both and didn't hear anything about it
during the whole weekend, nor was he asked about it publicly. So it was BS, but I think people are so anxious for him to run again that it seems they will grasp at any rumor to that effect.

He knows people that support him and his philosophies will go the distance.
