The Cato Institute is a Fraud!

The Cato Institute, "libertarian think tank" in Washington D.C., is a complete and utter fraud. I smelled a rat back in 2007 when these guys went out of their way to discredit Ron Paul and refused to endorse him but now the truth is revealed. Here's what they thought of Ron Paul back in 2007: http://www.antiwar.com/blog/2007/12/07/cato-institute-vp-sne...

Watch the video below. The man admits on CNN that Cato's research is funded by oil interests of around 40%! That means Haliburton and other war and oil related interests have their claws in a "libertarian" think tank that's no more libertarian than Fareed Zakaria is a unbiased moderator.

Also note, what a fraud this CNN "debate" really is. The only sincere person sitting at this table is the guy not wearing a suit because he's probably gullible enough to actually believe what the IPCC has forced fed him over the years.

This is the most fraudulent display I have ever witnessed on CNN, but what could we expect when it's hosted by Fareed Zakaria a higher level CFR and Trilateral Commission policy maker.

Sources?

Are you just speculating when you assert, "That means Haliburton and other war and oil related interests have their claws in a "libertarian" think tank," or do you have some sources to back it up?

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

An Acid Test

I use education to determine the veracity of any individual or org. If there is no policy to get the Feds OUT of education, that is a great big red flag for me. Cato passes the test: http://www.downsizinggovernment.org/education/spending-cuts

I figured it out during the

I simply do not get it

People want a free and open society yet when some one disagrees with them they attack.
Cato is different than Mises. But Mises wasn't that much Mises and Rothbard even embraced the far left to help end the Vietnam War..

I used to read Cato all the

I used to read Cato all the time, then I found other websites, like Mises and FEE.

There sure is a difference when reading those websites. Cato seems to toe the Republican Party line. In fact, I think they loved Fred Thompson, rather than Ron Paul.

Nonetheless, I still read some of their articles, esp. Gene Healy--who I think is the best there.

Cato has nice articles about Paul too.

My favorite people in the world: Ron Paul, Glenn Beck, Peter Schiff, Judge Napolitano, Milton Friedman, Bob Barr, and John Stossel

Where does "Barry" fit?

And how about Sean Hannity, Bill Kristol, Henry Kissinger, Zbignew Brzezinski... I could go on and on. In a nutshell I can think of a whole lot of people worse than your "worst" list.

I'm curious, are you like 40 years old living in your mother's basement with no job?

Just asking... because looking at your footer I would swear that my guess is spot on.

You can't base condemn awhole think tank on ONE person.

Paul seems likes Cato. He cites their studies a lot, and he spoke there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yKVukFR7fU

CATO Institute would never even put Alex Snitker on TV....

And Alex Snitker is a REAL libertarian, so CATO's priorities are at the least entirely backwards.

CATO's founder, neocon Ed Koch, loves Obama Care:
http://prwatch.org/node/9396

And now there seems to be the real problem. Neocons don't want to allow anti-neocons to be on the news, because they fear if they were, the whole debate of the neocons would be torn to shreds in the public eye.

Just came across this.

My buddy Bob Barr endorsed Snitker: http://libertarianviewpoint.com/blog/?p=2086

Just thought you might like to know, since you're a fan.

Bottom line is we can't dillute the message....

Even if you disagree with everything Snitker stands for, his view should be allowed to be heard.

Snitker is very concerned about Agenda 21, a form of corporate take over by the United Nations as well as the proposal of a North American Union. Including the right to free speech against this.

Don't Floridians deserve to hear his natural views on these issues, in their own state of Florida?

You bet they do!!! And neocon riddled havens like the CATO institute think they do not....

CATO is definitely not neocon.

There are many non-interventionists in Cato.

Only a few duped stragglers now...

Did you read this yet?
"you must know about Maurice Strong from the Beck show...He works with Koch at Aspen Institute. But, Beck didn't tell you that did he?

Beck likes to provide cover for the neo-cons while stealing from episodes of Conspiracy Theory that Jesse Ventura did."

Same for the supposed "left" as Keith Olbermann is tied into this outfit as well. Did you know that many of these neocons duped dumb people to setup CATO?

I saw some from the left on Aspen's Boards...

but I didn't notice Olbermann. I don't know the history behind Cato, that sounds interesting. I used to watch Beck and fact-check him...needless to say the facts never added up the way he said they did. I find the Koch brothers under ever rock I turn over!

I agree, that was the weirdest thing yet...

http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/will-olbermann-graduat...

Olbermann & Beck singing carols together.....Yeah right? He actually entertains the school.

All of them are neoliberal clowns, NOT libertarians. These circus-clowns are all neocons who belong to the same club, never pretend to be a "libertarian" as the real libertarians will out you in a heartbeat.

More proof...

that the left and right are really one and the same. A real libertarian would never accept Obamacare either, especially after spending so much money to pretent to fight it. They should just pay for their employee's healthcare...but they don't want to do that when they can pass the cost off to the rest of us.

Wouldn't one of the richest companies in the US

Koch Industries, want to pay for their worker's retiree healthcare benefits rather than allowing the government (aka the taxpayers) to pay for it?

They are part of the problem.

CATO appear to be welfarists....

They are just welfarists that subsidize Israel, Egypt, and Military dictatorships like Saudi Arabia's King Abdul rather than Medicare and big-government state forced education.

They're all the same thing though....CATO should change its name to "the welfarists society" and join their friends John Bolton, Nancy Pelosi, Steve Simpson, Bishop Ratzinger and the rest of the frauds up on Mount Sinai to throw a pow wow.

Check this one out

Aspen Institute = American Tavistock

Belly of the beast.

Why don't you explain why Cato's

founder signed up for Obamacare.

Says the Glenn Beck defender....

You are defending the fake, totaltarian neo-liberal agenda of the Cato Institute?

Ron Paul isn't the only one who sees them as a hoax.

http://world.std.com/~mhuben/cato.html

There's an entire association which condemns these blatant statists.

http://mises.org

Cato isn't just a fraud, Cato is a joke who does not care for libertine philosophy at all.

I think that Dr. Paul is

using the term "demagogue" in a negative way in referring to Glenn Beck and I agree with Dr. Paul.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYSeHMEjRy0

Where is your proof that Paul sees them

as a hoax? When has he ever criticized them?

Do you realize that the site you linked to is from the guy who wrote Criticism of Libertarianism FAQ?

It's an anti-libertarian site.

Must be a joke.

He's come down on their tactics plenty of times..
http://www.takimag.com/site/article/why_the_beltway_libertar...

While nobody fully "distances" themselves from the Cato group, they don't agree with their sucking up. Lew Rockwell has taken issue with Cato many times.

It's another fake "libertarian when it suits them" outfit and quite well known.

No evidence of course.

The Cato Institute is not "fake" libertarian. It's the real thing. And libertarians are allowed to disagree with other.

Lew Rockwell is a moron, spoke against Ron Paul supporters being involved in politics at the Rally for the Republic (he is against voting) and wrote racist newsletters under Paul's name. And he doesn't like competing libertarian think tanks. Lew Rockwell is no friend of liberty. The guy is rotten to the core, a bitter, dishonest, cowardly, wicked man.
