Buchanan Has switched over to the Darkside,
He is talking up Huckabee right now on Cnn. Huckabee's new view on foreign policy, which is what Ron Paul said, Buchanon said Huckabee is right, he did not mention Paul's policy. He said that McCain might win New Hampshire. This is disgusting, the fact that these candidate are now saying the same thing as Paul is disgusting.
At other times Buchanan has expressed his views on Ron Paul, as his own, and suddenly he is agreeing with Huckabee's views, which are basically the same as Paul's. Than he says that if Huckabee, and Romney don't win New Hampshire that McCain will win, when McCain is not placing higher than Paul. This interview was a shot at the Paul campaign. A shot that took his views, mixed them up, spat them out, and tried to insist that Paul doesn't have a chance. Buchanan has crossed over.

check out my post about Ross Perot
It doesn't matter what these insiders do. Just remember Ross Perot. He got 19% of the vote in 92. Ron Paul can double that, which is plenty to win as a third party candidate. And the Republican elites KNOW this. They might not want to nominate him, but they want him as a third party candidate even less.
It will become clear to them in the coming months that Ron Paul is their best option and the things he stands for are the things that they'd better start standing for too.
Agreed.
Good assessment. The only hope the Republican party has of holding onto the White House is Dr. Paul. They just don't want to accept it. A good showing in Iowa and a great showing in N.H. will bring them around.
He's a Commentator
As a political commentator, he has to maintain some objectivity. He can't just go out there and plug Ron Paul every time he is on TV. He has to talk about what he thinks is newsworthy and significant to the election. Cut him some slack.
So, is Pat a prefessional flip-flopper then?
Given his history as an honest man most probably he is not. So, it must be that he is the mere messenger here, the words come from somewhere else. At least, hope so. Otherwise, this country has truly gone to the dogs. And we are the last ones that are not bought yet.

Hate povery, not the poor - Gandhi
Pat is probably trying to
Pat is probably trying to help spread the non-RP vote as evenly as possible among the other candidates; thereby splitting the vote in our favor.
We KNOW Pat is on our side. We just KNOW.

BLAHHH
I have never like this guy anywazzz... Something about him makes me kringe. Its even hard to listen to him and his voice..YIKES.. The other day I heard him say similar things. Me no likey him...
Hey, RebelRevolution78
Pat did the same thing, on The McLaughlin group, on PBS on Sunday(how many out here actually watch this show? It's been on over 25 years. Seems they have enough people watching it to keep it on PBS).
There was a deal being as by John McLaughlin(host) abot who would be best for the foreign affairs on a world wide scale(at first..something like this..he asked which candidates would be able to do the best job).
First Pat said McCain(and said he is going to win , or something...I started to turn off the t.v. right here).
JM then mentioned Iraq War(trying to see if Pat would mentioN Ron Paul..as he is opposed to it, versus the other candidates..they were talkiing of the Republicans at this moment)... he mentions Romney as being a world statesman, etc.... and I shut the t.v. off(not before he did a 10 seconds infomercial for his "top 10 book", on NY Times Best Sellers List, and yes, he mentioned some Ron Paul-like words...too..juts like you said he did on the CNN bit).
More people watch CNN, McLaughlin group than look @ Pat's website, I bet( and even on there, it seems a lot of the posters are turning against RP, calling him a Liberal.... go check it out. A post thread turned awful in a hurry over there. Not by Pat, but by regulars who go there. Hmmm. Odd).
Anyhow....
It may be Pat's job... but when he was Given An Opening(not to sound "one sided"), to say Ron Paul, he mentions Romney/McCain, may win, and are good choices for the world stage(World Stage? Odd choice of words from Pat? Maybe it was the topic they talked about. No more McLaughlin Group for me...theyeven mentioned Ron Paul as a candidate... a wideopening for Pat to say something positive, w/o hurting his credentials as a poltical reporter, or whatever... and he passed it by).
Anyhow.... not trying to be offensive to anyone...just seems odd how he's handling "his job" these days, Mr Buchanan. Check out the Mclaughlin Group website.. think they have ipod, etc, for the show. Maybe I misunderstood, but when RR78 mentioned he heard something I heard(2 different shows) sounded 98% exact words, both shows.... seems odd to me.
Just sickens me how they act like Ron Paul is a "moonbat", or bad for the country, whatever.
Have a good week.
Please, dont' attack the messenger/look up McLaughlin group.
go look up the Dec 16 program... see if they have the show online.... and tell them if you disagree with the way the show (and Pat, and others) comments were put out there for Millions of viewers to ponder(and nothing about Ron Paul..except mention he was running... Pat had a H-U-G-E chance to say what he thought, and still come out looking professional, and for whatever reason, he did not. maybe he wants more "Republicans", others, to buy his new Best Seller, and afraid if he mentions Ron Paul, evenin a profession, unbiased manner....= lose sales of new book? Lose job... I doubt that...not the way the question were set up for the panel on McLaughling Group yesterday).
Have a good week.
Pat's sister, Bay, is
Pat's sister, Bay, is working for the Tancredo campaign. So you can see why it would be tough for Pat to endorse Dr. Paul. Maybe when Tancredo folds his tent will Pat become more outspoken in his support of Dr. Paul.
neopaulite
Hmm
I tend to think Pat B should have come out more for Dr. Paul and wonder why he hasn't. Maybe he might not get asked back if he went on shows and touted Dr. Paul every two seconds. A lot of people don't know who RP is (if they did, we'd be leading by 50% in the polls). So it's hard for him to talk about someone nobody knows.
I don't think it's so bad him praising Huckabee for moving away from Bush foreign policy. But Buchanan shouldn't believe for a moment that Huckabee WILL actually move toward a non-interventionist foreign policy but he surely has to praise Huckabribe for saying it.
"What does conservatism today stand for? It stands for war. It stands for power. It stands for spying, jailing without trial, torture, counterfeiting without limit, and lying from morning to night."
Lew Rockwell
Not so bad?
Huckabee has completely flip flopped. He is using Dr. Paul's ideas. The sheep that were on the fence are going to say " Hey, that's a good idea", just like the IRS deal has circulated on the internet. Dr. Paul said abolish the IRS, than Huckabee said abolish the IRS, now there are youtube video's supporting huckabee because he wants to get rid of the IRS. It's pathetic, and weak that Buchanan has clearly crossed the isle. Buchanan has said before that he can't endorse Paul because the media would not have him on, but he pretty much endorsed Huckabee today, and McCain, and anyone else but Dr. Paul. He is done.
Buchanan has been a sell-out all along
The Ron Paul campaign is just exposing the fact to a much wider audience!
;-)
He shoud have endorsed Ron Paul months ago if he really believed what he writes and speaks about. He is part of the establishment and has proved it over and over again.
Well said..
...
Buchanan IS part of the establisment
I never thought about it until you just said it. I guess I really wanted to believe there was people with integrity in the political realm but I guess just like Ron Paul they are very rare.
When Pat's sister endorsed Tancredo (or was it Hunter) I knew something was wrong but now this confirms it.
Dont be mad
Be glad that other politicians are starting to take their cues from Ron Paul. This is a battle of ideas. We are influencing other people to join our cause...its not completely a bad thing is all i'm sayin.
Not mad but...
Ron Paul is the only candidate who means what he says and says what he means. The other candidates will say whatever they think will get them elected. Once elected, they will follow another course. We must work to get Ron Paul elected President. Accept no substitutes - Ron Paul 2008!
most Americans are dumb blind sheep
That's all I have to say...
A Crotchity Ole Spoiler
What none of these other people running understand is that they just don't have a message....They're selling all the same old stuff. I for one have had a gut full and I'm fit to bust...

We Just want Fair Coverage
It's call "Strategery"
GOOD - it's diluting Mitt Romney's vote. B/c if they don't vote for Fluffabee than they will move towards Mitt Romney (the ones that are pro-war/Christians) ... We want the vote diluted b/c we need all the Independents and anti-war vote in IA to go and beat them all in the caucus there and in NH. Buchanan is not a Fluffabee fan ...

I don't know what you guys
I don't know what you guys are talking about, he isn't RP's campaign staff, he's independant person and he talks what he thinks, not what other persons want to hear (i.e. Ron Paul supporters).
Was Huck right? Was. He was also dishonest and flopper, but it doesn't change the point.
Exactly, He has supported Ron Paul's views, and stated them
as his own, and suddenly he is agreeing with Huckabee's views, which are basically the same as Paul's. don't worry
Don't worry, Pat is a Ron Paul guy, he has to be impartial when on these shows. If he came on touting Ron Paul every time, they would stop asking him on and then he would not drive people to his web site or people would stop listening to him.
That is what Tucker has done too, he distances himself every once in a while so he does not sound like a Ron Paul cheerleader. I think we can count on both of there votes, and I bet they might say some good things closer to the primaries.
I think it's time to stop giving these shills so much credit...
If he believes so passionately what he writes and speaks ,he should have endorsed him long ago...a 5th grader could see RPs credibility
I hope you are right...
What you say makes some sense. It is just that I heard him recently on Shawn Hannity's radio program and they were much too chummy for me.
Thanks
Thanks Pizza God, for the words of wisdom. If you look at Pat's site, you won't see 120 articles for any other candidate and Linda his webmaster often posts about Ron Paul. Pat knows the score, and was likely just discussing Huck's positions, which I agree, are often shameless rip-offs. Remember the comment "everyone would like to be Ron Paul" (still can't remember if it was Huck or Hunter who said it at one of the debates)
Isn't it funny how these politicians put their big toe in the water and once they find out what they people want to hear, they MORPH into a creature made up of all the other candidates' best? SHAMELESS.
(I'm on the phone right now with a reporter about this)
Ehh, it's his job...
I'm sure that it's his job to talk about what they want to talk about. He talks up Ron all the time and has a close personal friendship with him. The funny thing is that I wish all journalists were objective like that. It's all about surprise for us, everyone knows that. John Kerry came out of nowhere to win in 04 because he peaked late and surprised. We're in good shape and our message is real. Remember, RP said that he wanted to shift the election season to focus on monetary policy and foreign policy. This is now happening and we are peaking after the Huckster and McCain will be the real worry. (Sorry for comparing us to Kerry in any way, shape, or form)
He mentioned Ron Paul Friday night...
...was interviewed on Los Angeles radio station 870am KRLA by host Kevin James and Pat said Paul was great re his stance against the NAU.
Maybe he's okay with bringing Ron up on a local show, but is nervous about talking about it nationally. Ron is STILL the ONLY candidate he has featured on his website.

His loss
Guess I won't be buying his latest book now...
Are you kidding?
Pat's book is GREAT. Anything Pat writes is great. I worked for Pat in '96 and we won him NH. He agrees with just about everything Ron believes...he was not so heavy into the financial stuff but that's the added bonus with Paul. Please remember that Pat is an honest person and thus, is your friend.
As the poster above said, he's got Ron all over his website, do you see any other candidate so prominently displayed there? Nope.
I am sure the book is great.
I am sure the book is great. The others were.
I realize it is his job to talk politics, however if your job means just going with the flow and following orders are you an ally or a foe? Are you hurting the cause you have otherwise fought so hard for? If he cannot be the real Pat Buchanan, unapologetically, when doing the "talking head" bit, then what is the point? The time is now.
Perhaps my comment was a bit hasty, then again it gets so tiresome seeing people that are "on our side" talk against us or in this case, talk up someone else without mentioning the fact that Huckabee is a lame-duck, particularly on foreign policy, has no intention of following through, and is just trying to tap into more voters by regurgitating someone else's message.
Hopefully the clip will turn up somewhere, because I would like to decide with my own eyes, but as it stands I cannot help but ask those questions as well as consider where I spend my money.
