Catherine Austin Fitts has some great ideas on how to shed our dependency to the powers that be.

She was interviewed by AJ yesterday in the third hour concerning us controlling our food production.

"We at Solari are often asked why we are optimistic about our future. We are far from oblivious to the risks and pain in our environment. Yet, we believe that a peaceful world is possible, and that the path to our collective well-being begins with each of us transforming from the inside out—coming clean. With our prayers, actions, and transactions, we have the power to shift energy away from those who misuse power and move it to ourselves and to those who are worthy stewards of our planet's wealth and our children's future."

Farmers market or foraging market?

This article appears to be about foraging mostly. I wonder what the ramifications are for private property. When our fruit trees started producing fruit some unscrupulous people seemed to regard them as free fruit stands.

If foraging is done on public property there would still be a need for some sort of oversight if the collectors were able to profit from the harvest. Picking stuff on public lands for personal consumption seems ok to me, but selling it is different.

Any other viewpoints on this?

While the website offers information

on foraging, the article linked in the OP is broader, as explained here:
"The SF Underground Market is a venue where you can taste and purchase the food that is being produced in backyards and home kitchens in the Bay Area."
