What's the Record to Break?
Submitted by PeterBarker on Sun, 12/16/2007 - 14:49
Does anybody know what the current record is for fundraising in a 24-hour period (pre-Nomination)? Does anybody know what the post-Nomination record is? Are we going to break all records today? :)

5.7 Million, I believe.
5.7 Million, I believe.
I remember hearing that was John Kerry's record during the November 5th drive.
let's get the total donation number to 17.76 Million
let's get the total donation number to 17.76 Million! Then, let's surpass that number too!
A few milestones
$12 million -- Campaign's Official 4th quarter goal ($0.45 million to go) -- 1:11 am Eastern
$15.85 million -- November 5th money bomb ($4.3 million).
$16.85 million -- John Kerry's 2004 one-day record ($5.3 million).
$17.55 million -- My personal expectations/estimate ($6 million).
$17.85 million -- Hillary Clinton's supposed 2008 one-day record ($6.3 million).
$18.05 million -- Mitt Romney's supposed 2008 one-day record ($6.5 million).
$20.15 million -- November 5th money bomb X 2 ($8.6 million).
$21.55 million -- Ultimate Tea Party '07 Goal ($10 million).
Some "hoaxes"
Clinton's claim is completely bogus. Her campaign flat-out lied, and the FEC reports bore that out. My guess is she tried to claim the results of several days of fundraising as one "big day," but when the reports were actually filed with the real dates, it didn't add up.
Romney's claim is hot air. It appears he generated a lot of "pledges" but didn't actually raise the money that day. It doesn't count.
If you go by FEC reports, Paul's Nov. 5 haul is the biggest day in this cycle, and the biggest primary haul in history (though Kerry's one-day record technically was before the convention, I believe, even if only a day before) if you ignore fundraising that technically happened before the convention but after a nominee had been chosen.

Think Hillary's one day total was
6.2 M
No
Clinton's claim to the record was exposed as hollow by Jonathan Bydlak after the November 5 fundraiser.
Paul holds the single-day record for the primaries, as far as I can gather.
The single-day record overall is held by John Kerry, though that may be "pre-nomination" in that I think it happened the day before the Democratic convention (though he was already the presumptive nominee).
I don't know, offhand, the amount of Kerry's big haul.

We just want to blow that out of the water
You are absolutely correct, WCU4Paul. Jonathan presented convincing evidence.
However, the MSM never allows facts to get in the way of their agenda. They are still occasionally referring to her "6.2 Mil day."
So if we can blow away that misinformation, with real hard facts, hopefully it will stick in their TV-addled minds for good, that Ron Paul is the true leader!
I've already donated $400 for the month, $300 just today - and I pledge that if we are within a Million $ of breaking the all-time record, then I'll donate money I don't have (yet) and use my credit card! That's a promise.
I don't think her end of quarter data
actually proved this.
