Dr. Ron Paul Press Release on Obama’s Iraq Speech: Mission Not Accomplished
LAKE JACKSON, Texas--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Congressman Ron Paul today released the following statement on President Obama’s speech from the Oval Office last night:
“The President’s announcement that all U.S. combat troops have left Iraq is no more believable than the 'Mission Accomplished' declaration was in 2003.
“Once again, we are being told the mission has been accomplished and our brave men and women are coming back home. Though the people are hopeful they remain skeptical, and rightfully so.
“The biggest problem is that success in Iraq is undefinable since the mission was never defined. The reasons given for the invasion were based on misinformation. Now, the war has cost us hundreds of billions of dollars and this has contributed significantly to our economic woes.

In this press release it's mentioned that
"9000 special ops personnel trained n assassinations" will remain in Iraq along with 50,000 (relabeled) combat-ready troops after this so-called End of Iraqi War speeches and ceremonies.
It is truly gross to claim that USA is ceasing hostile actions when 9000 USA assassins continue to be deployed, making sure that murders and killings do NOT cease in Iraq, presumably to force the Iraqi puppet government to plead for the extension of USA "protection".
Once again, Ron Paul defines the issues, like no one
else can or will.

It's a shame we couldn't get
It's a shame we couldn't get treated to a fancy photo op on an aircraft character by this huckster like we did by the last one.
Barry, we know you're full of shit and we know you're working for them. Why not just come clean and make a speech admitting you're an opportunistic scumbag?
This is why we need a constitutional amendment giving us recall votes on every single federal official.
I am out of touch with most Americans precisely because I am not out of touch with reality.
I want to share a nice picture of Ron

Isn't anyone else concerned
Isn't anyone else concerned by the reference to 'Al Qaeda' and the implication that insurgents are terrorists? Al Qaeda is a figment of the media's imagination as is the notion that bin Laden masterminded 9/11. Or how about Ron's saying that Iran is benefited by a large Shiite population as though Iran is our enemy?
It is even worse to say that it is a bad thing that an individual has gained political power. Why? Because he is not aligned with us and threatens American hegemony of forced Democracy? If he has supporters, is that not a form of democracy? As followers of Ron Paul, we too are considered to be threats by the establishment due to our adherence to a man and the principles for which he stands. Perhaps the rest of us, Ron paul included, would advocate violent action if our country were in the same state as Iraq.
This letter, although informative at points, is very very disappointing.
"The casualty of partisanship is objectivity."
This is the most concise and excellent statement.
I am emailing it to my relatives. Thanks so much for posting. It is a real gem!
Thanks Dr. Paul for never giving up!

How can we bring this RP message to . . .
anti-war (Obm-worshipping) Democrats???
And while we are at it. . . have Glenn Beck pro-military-aggression branch of Teapartiers & Repubs to listen to Fred Branfman interview (@ http://antiwar.com/radio/2010/08/31/fred-branfman-2/) and REALLY think about the folly of conflating Islam & AlQaeda.

...and, I fear, even Iran.
the question I am asking myself is will US go bankrupt before or after an attack on Iran.

I always enjoy Ron Paul's
I always enjoy Ron Paul's speeches. They have so much substance and meat. I am, however, bewildered by his reference to Osama bin Laden. Wasn't he killed in 2004 according to Frost interview with Pakistan's assassinated Benazir Bhutto?
Dead or alive?
What difference does it make, as long as people like Hilary Clinton, General Stanley McChrystal and President Barrack Obama still talk about the need to search for him? As long as there is no body to be found, the issue will remain unresolved, and so must be addressed as if he is still alive.
Thank you, Dr. Paul, for your tenacity in the face of absurdity!

like a fine wine reading his words, it just reads so good.
I was talking to my mom about hopefuls for the 2012 election. She named off some young guys like Jindahl, Rubio, Paul Ryan...
I told her I am hoping somebody else wins. Ron Paul! She was unsure about him(uninformed). But I told her if Ron Paul debated Obama it would be a no contest. He could easily win against Obama in 2012 once people know his message. His principles and character will shine like a bright light against those who don't have it together.
Ron always has it right!
Is there any news/video of troops being diverted to Afghanistan from Iraq? Even the sheeple should be outraged by this....
