PHOENIX – The U.S. Justice Department sued Sheriff Joe Arpaio on Thursday, saying the Arizona lawman refused for more than a year to turn over records in an investigation into allegations his department discriminates against Hispanics.
The lawsuit calls Arpaio and his office's defiance "unprecedented," and said the federal government has been trying since March 2009 to get officials to comply with its probe of alleged discrimination, unconstitutional searches and seizures, and having English-only policies in his jails that discriminate against people with limited English skills.

Maybe Sheriff Joe
needs to sue the DOJ for interference of law enforcement or about anything else that can be thought of.
They can sue the US government for treason & probably win.
That's what many states should do, they should SUE the US Federal Government for treason and overstepping their authority over a period of 100 years.
They would probably win a massive settlement, at least 5 million dollars on budgets; and TV cameras to promote a cause that's worthwhile- State nullification.
I don't agree with Joe at all
And maybe his personality even irks people, who knows.
But I will defend Joe's right to do what he wishes in his own state, until the end.
How much of the phrase "this is a STATE matter" does our government even understand in its vocabulary?
This is a state matter. Stay out of Arizona or Kentucky and let the states handle state matters!!!

Az Courts are very lenient long before they get to Joe's prisons
If you end up in Joe's prison system you truly deserve it,Due to prison populations judges and DA's in Az are very,Very lenient.My son in law had two felony Domestic violence cases dropped to mental health misdemeanors,He tried twice to stab my daughter to death in front of the Grandkids.
How do I know this?My other future son in law works for Joe in the phoenix correctional facility.When you end up there you truly do not belong in society.

I think its about security in the prison. I personally believe in the two line theory.
If all immigrants had a choice between going back to their country of origin for free or paying out of their own pocket to learn the English language which do you think they would choose
