When a tyrant and fool

like Barry can give himself the authority to "assassinate Americans" without trial, in secret and with no restrictions...what would keep him from silencing a lowly Arizona "sheriff" who is following that "ragged, useless, document called the constitution?" Of course, assassinating Americans isn't the lead story on CNN. Go figure.

Arizona colleges accused

Sheesh ... it never ends ...

Arizona colleges accused of immigrant discrimination in lawsuit
Story by David G. Savage - LA Times | Published: 09/04/2010

Reporting from Washington — Employers who hire illegal immigrants can be fined, but the Obama administration warned this week that they also can be fined for asking legal immigrants to show their green cards before hiring them.

The Justice Department's civil rights division sued the Maricopa County Community Colleges in Arizona, seeking damages from schools for having "intentionally committed document abuse discrimination."

Prior to this year, the local colleges in the Phoenix area asked job applicants who were not U.S. citizens to show a driver's license, a Social Security card and their permanent resident card, commonly called a green card. Read more:

Why is he being sued?

Maybe because he accepted big money from the feds and played into their Homeland Security game. You can't win if you pit the state against the Fed and play both sides.

Unless you live in Arizona

You can have all of the opinions you want but you can't really know what is. Come down here and see what we have to deal with. Anytime anyone stands up and does something that is different than getting along and kissing everyone's butt, they are demonized. He is definitely cut out of a different cloth and may not be doing everything according to the book, but at least he is standing up for something.

You sound like the average citizen in the early thirties. Same argument. Of course, it is different in many respects.

I guess I am slow or uninformed

I am not sure what you are accusing me of. Sheriff Joe keeps getting voted in by his constituents. I am not one of them because I am in Pinal County. However, since he continues to be voted in by those most affected by his policies, I don't believe those who are not the least bit affected by his policies have a right to challenge this. That is what State and Local government is all about and what Ron Paul champions. If those are who in his county want to challenge him, they have a perfect right and should but others need to keep out of it. I don't want to get involved with a county sheriff's activity in Podunk Iowa because it is up to Podunk to do that.

Nothing wrong with your thinking

I can testify that in this case it is reversed.Don't sweat it,Credibility is slowly diminishing.

I find it interesting that you agree with Healthnut4freedom, who
doesn't want to get involved with a county sheriff's activity in
another state because it is up to that state to do that (that is, to be voted in or not by those most affected by his policies), when it wasn't too long ago that you were all up in Connecticut's politics, in your support of a candidate there - while you live in Arizona. You can't have it both ways.

You can have it both ways

Being involved in the political process is perfectly normal. We want to assist like-minded people in their efforts to get elected. However, once they have been elected; if the citizens of their jurisdiction want to keep them there, then that is their choice. You did the best you could in the political process to convince the people otherwise but once it is done, those people elected him.
If their policies affect more than just their constituents (like the wicked witch Pelosi), then you are being directly impacted. In that case, you are justified in wanting to get rid of her.
I don't want somebody in New York City or L.A. telling me how my sheriff should be doing his job. That's the beauty of State's rights. Local governments handle things the way their constituents want it run and that will be very different from one state, county, city to the next.

Ok, thanks. I'll keep that in mind the next time I want to talk out of both sides of my mouth.

You might want to take into consideration something I stated here earlier, which was conveniently ignored. With more and more peaceful civil disobedience being applied against more and more unconstitutional laws, there may be more and more of us inside the jails, in EVERY state. So the harassment and abuse that you seem to be condoning could easily be implemented in your state and in my state, as well.
When due process of the law is applied and taken all the way to the Supreme Court, the policies put in place at that time are then applied in every similar case in every state. We the People have a responsibility to see that the type of abuse we are seeing in Joe Arpaio's county in Arizona doesn't go that far. That is why it is important for us to pay attention to the goings on in other states...
as you said, we want to assist like-minded people - and it follows that we want to prevent actions that arise when the opposite is true. We are either FOR Liberty or we are NOT.

Shakeitup

I see where you are coming from now. I am looking at what is happening to Arpaio as harassment because they don't agree with his methods; not from a legal, constitutional sense but because it does not go along with their liberal program. IF they are really going after him for true civil liberties violations, then that is reasonable. But I believe that is a smokescreen from something else. Does the Federal Government really care about civil liberties? NOT. So, it has to be something more and that is why I am saying what I am saying.

I do understand

and I agree that the Feds have not cared about our civil liberties in a long time. Two wrongs don't make a right though, and I think Joe is wrong, too. It is a quandry, isn't it!

That sheriff is a fascist plain and simple

He is the one who had that old guy tased in theis video.. his department is brutal. The Fedral government has full ahtority over imagration matters constitutionally and legistlativly. States like his are not acting American. I do understand thier frustration but they must work withoint the framework of our laws.

Tim C,Is this the same video from

the other current post? The video you posted is from Marin County and has not a thing to do with Joe.I realise you hate Joe but for you to lie and fraudulently post a deceptive video is very wrong my friend.

Arpaio is no friend of liberty

REASON has done a good job of following the antics of this authoritarian thug:

I'm guessing you're right on...

I don't know all the facts, myself, but according to a comment, Joe has 40,000 outstanding felony warrants sitting on his desk, collecting dust. He doesn't go after those because they don't get him on the news. The man is a media whore, not a "great American patriot"...

Sounds like this cowboy needs a taste of his own (bad) medicine.

State Rights first.

Any enemy of the real enemy is on the side of Liberty.

Terrible attitude

You either believe in liberty or you don't.

Two authoritarians in a pissing match do not help the cause of liberty.

Didnt we already go thourhg the 1860s?

I hate seccessionist scum. Seccession is treason. traitor.

Tim: How is the 10th amendment "treason"?

Did the progressive schools teach you this total crap, and indoctrinate you through fraud?

Tim, do you know our founders were staunch defenders of the 10th amendment and the 2nd?

Joe Arapio may be odd but he has the right idea on State rights. Do you know how bad the Federal Government is yourself?

Have you seen what they have done to people, ie: WACO or the public school slums of New York?

Tim - The Federal Government is not your friend in any form. To believe that is to be a sheep. The State governments have really disliked the Federal Government overstepping its boundaries for years, because the Federal side is often tyrannical.

The States will protect your house, your property when worse comes to worse. Your fellow citizens will make sure everyone has food. The Feds really don't even care, they just "act" like Civil Rights is a priority. Civil Rights is not a priority to the Feds, unless its tax collection. As you have seen with the abomination in the public sector and financial banking industry, the Feds look out for #1 before anybody else in the country. A mafia is not a good family Tim.

Secession is Freedom!

...from the tyranny of the federal government.

I hope to God I meet you on the battlefield.

btw...learn how to spell.

needs to plea the 5th.
