It's intentionally released video to promote a magazine he was being going to be in. He is making fun of himself for crying so easily.

Forbes has an interesting article about the sources of Glenn Beck's income. Interestingly, only $2 million of his $32 million annual salary comes from his Fox News show where he gets most of his publicity. The majority of the money comes from his radio and publishing empire. It could be said that Fox News is the platform from which he hawks the rest of his wares.

Looks like he's doing a comedic response to the beating
he was taking for crying as a way to deflect a bit of the embarrassment. Probably sent a signed 8x10 to Olbermann with a reference to the weeks ratings.

That's extremely telling. Someone who may have actually become emotional would take offense to the mere suggestion of faking it. But you are still right, there's nothing to see. When it comes to Glenn Beck, I personally believe there's NEVER anything to see-- or hear or read.

I cannot know whether or not Beck believes in everything he is saying. I think he does, and I just might - and you might, too - for $30 million per year, but laughing at oneself could be considered a sign of humility.
I think this rally he just did represents his zenith of influence. To me, it wreaked of compassionate conservatism. While many Americans may not really know that term, they know the signs. I have found many people to be so horribly turned off by the God in politics stuff, Christians included, that the smallest whiff makes them angry. People still remember the civil-liberty destroying, war-mongering party of the 00s. Cheney's "you're either with us or against us" quote and Bush forcing us into Iraq; the incredibly incompetent Rumsfeld and Paulson's bailout bill, etc. Whether these things have anything directly to do with Christianity makes no difference as I feel it is what people associate as the outcome of Republican politicians and pundits talking a lot about God.
It may be some time before Beck's numbers clearly stagnate, but I believe he has peaked. Moderates are no longer going to be attracted to him and many will be turned off.

Beck is a scumbag but this was clearly for a photo shoot that wanted to captivate his passion.
Your title is misleading. It should say Beck uses vicks to pose in a photo shoot.
