Las Vegas copyright enforcement company Righthaven LLC has suffered a legal setback, with the newest federal judge in Las Vegas ruling one of the Righthaven defendants may have a meritorious defense in arguing the Las Vegas Review-Journal provides an "implied license" for the online reposting of its stories.

Defendants fight back against Righthaven copyright lawsuits

In what could be a showdown over Righthaven's lawsuit campaign, two attorneys for the San Francisco-based Electronic Frontier Foundation have signed on to represent the Democratic Underground LLC in one of the high-profile Righthaven lawsuits.

to this on the radio.I will be on it.The main point of my call will be that if sites quit linking to RJ it will hurt them much more than the trivial few posts did.Not linking will be a long term loss for their advertisers.

Righthaven victims should stand shoulder to should united now and take Righthaven LLC to the cleaners before he gets too big. Everybody is worrying am I going to be next and using all their energy on defending themselves when they should be taking the bloodsucker to task...make him worry about how he is going to defend his deplorable actions.

I'll keep it in mind.

First, I have yet to be served. I'm in contact with, and have settled upon representation. Next I need to get a legal defense fund set up.

know this is an energy and time eater, that no defense fund can ever truly offset.. and that even victory extracts a huge price...

hoping your counsel sees this as more than a job, and "crusades" on your behalf (I have seen a room of giant legal eagles and big $$ interests slayed by one dedicated and brave solo practitioner)....

I know DP'ers will come out in force when you get that fund set up...
