the warmonger doesn't really have a point or evidence, so if they let him talk more, he eventually hangs himself with his own rope. Then those on the side of reason can calmly step in and explain why everything he just said is nonsense.

I hate reporting with this type of ambush and lack of honest dialogue. I can't help but try formulate a more rational argument for the shouted down NeoCon Warmonger.
The truth is, Saudi Arabia has married itself to the US. Their support, along with Egyptian and Israeli support have given the Western Democracies significant influence over World Energy resources. These resources, like oil are traded strictly in US dollars. A failure in US foreign policy to maintain this influence would jeopardize our national security and economy.
This being said, I don't think war is the great solution. However I do expect Western Democracies, especially the great warrior in our group, the United States to stand steadfastly against encroaching regimes in a region where our continued dominance is key to sustaining our way of life.
It is a reasonable argument to state, China was building Naval bases in Pakistan until Sept 11. and US military buildup has to give China pause about expanding in the area. Though, admittedly, this may not be the wisest course for reasons everyone here knows. It is still a valid argument and intellectual discussion shouldn't be shouted down.
I lament that intellect alone doesn't submarine the Neocon's platform.
I wish we had more Ron Paul's in the world...so much more fun to watch him end a Neocon's career (like Giuliani).
