Two economists, Seth B. Carpenter and Selva Demiralp, recently posted a discussion paper on the Federal Reserve Board's website, titled "Money, Reserves, and the Transmission of Monetary Policy: Does the Money Multiplier Exist?"

QE seems to have helped in mergers and acquisitions
The big guys got bigger. Could that have been the real goal? Washington's Blog has another good article mentioning how Bernanke sees things through a banker's eyes, so if the bankers are doing well, then all is good with the country.
It is interesting that Bernanke was a critic of QE before he was an advocate.
Sort of like Greenspan advocating the gold standard before spending a lifetime undermining it.
and like Greenspan's return to the Gold Standard...
almost too predictable.
