Next Event-National Cancel Cable Day

Let's hit the media people where it counts-in the wallet. If we all cancel our cable/satelite on the same day it will send a shock wave through cable providers. We don't need their media BS anymore. Not their "news" or other shows. Let's pick a day, advertise the hell out of it, and kiss them good bye. » |

I have lived without cable for over 3 years now!!!
We sometimes watch the networks, but many times, we TURN OFF THE TV AND HAVE A CONVERSATION!!!!!!!!!!

How do you turn your wife onto the idea? I think its a terrific idea but if my wife looses her channels she will flip....any ideas? HELP

Try having her watch some videos that make it clear the media is lying to us [her] and that funding those corporations is supporting their evil deeds and agenda.
If you have children then you can suggest using that time for family time.
If all else fails, try telling her to get a life...maybe using the same psychology the corporate media uses will work. ;-)

If your Internet Connection is Cable that's ok, the Internet is a Useful Tool of Revolution. You can have a Cable Internet Connection without Cable TV. Instead of Feeding Hunderds of Millions of Dollars into the MSM why not use it to fight the Revolution, send it to Ron Paul, this has got to happen!! This way we can have a steady stream of Funds going to the campagin. At somepoint this has got to get SERIOUS, t's not so much about Boycott, it's about Decision Making, is it a good Decision to Fund YOUR own Opression??

It is very self serving. It might make you happy but it does NOTHING to get the message out to the public who are ignorant of the problems and the message.

It may not hurt the Corp media. It can do a lot to help Ron Paul. If nothing else it will free up a lot of spare time to "converse" with others about Ron Paul and provide some cash to do it with.

I don't care how many people go along with the idea
I'm fed up with Dish anyway. Lets see how long we can live without it. We might just surprise ourselves. We might start having real conversations around the house again, you know like when you're on vacation. Should be interesting. If more people want to get on board the freedom train at once all the better.
The saved money is going to the campaign and so is all the saved time.

Another BAD idea
There aren't enough of us for one. There are TWO things Paul needs, Exposure and Money. They wouldn't give a dimes worth of media exposure to people that cut off their cable and it doesn't give Paul a dime. Besides, know your enemy. Watch CNN to see what tactics and lies they are using to smash Paul..........
My Thoughts
I think a complete cancel forever may be a little harsh for some, but if it were a pledge to cancel for a month it would have a big effect. Even if you could only hold out for a week it would still be a huge quake since they won't know if you are gone for a week, a month, or forever. Let them know who owns who in this media world.
I propose Feb. 6, the day after Super Tuesday, for the "Blackout Blowback".

... kill them with kindness. Maybe we need to start advertising their sponsors at every event. The sponsors will want the publicity and pressure the media to be there to cover the story. Maybe i'm way out there... who knows. I just know if I owned Spirit Cola and was a major sponsor of XYZ News Media, and there was going to be Spirit Cola signs at all the events of the Tea Party 07... I would be demanding XYZ cover the event or I would pull my sponsorship. just a thought.

Very bad idea.....
They will receive a massive "cancel cable" day as a 'shot across the bow' that starts wars.
Threatening is fine, it puts pressure on them to give Dr Paul his due. They would like to keep their subscribers of course.
They have no incentive to cater to people who have already cancelled.
We simply have nothing to gain by making a public statement about cutting off cable. But theatening is fine.
A better approach would be for our supporters who cancel cable to always tell them they are cancelling due to the blatant attempt to ignore Paul. They will notice a pattern.
I cancelled last month myself. Reason cited: "I don't feel that we are being told the truth."
Why make enemies unnecessarily? This is the course that the Bush cabal has tragically decided to take. We need friends...not enemies.

In the end it's about media consolidation, censorship, propaganda and not being fair and balanced. How or if you choose to connect that to the Ron Paul Freedom campaign is up to you.
To stop funding the propaganda machine that controls the minds of the majority is a very good idea. Thats newspapers, books, magazines, network and cable TV.
It's a shame some people are so addicted to the mind control tactics that they can't dream of giving up the TV or movies and cable TV for even one day. Once you realise how we are being controlled and lied to it becomes quite easy to BOYCOTT THE MEDIA.

I stopped watching tv...
months ago. After I accidently discovered Ron Paul. I realized what garbage was being spewed from the tube. I turn it on ONLY if Ron Paul is speaking.

I'm going to start posting for the 27th. I don't know if it's a good idea or not for Ron Paul, I just think it's a good idea in general. I'm willing to take the risk.
Frankly, going door to door for Ron Paul is a better use of all of our time.
There are lots of people out there who will cancel cable just to throw their vote for "protest low cut jeans", "or protest formula company advertising", or whatever and maybe they'll notice Ron Paul being slighted while they are at it.
Posting to message boards and spreading the word in Sunday School is what I'm going to do. Someone else can take off with the web site, but too much publicity will mean poor staffing on the cable company telephones next week.
