There is no media conspiracy

I don't care if it's popular or not with this group, it's an opinion I hold based on people I know in the business.

It's convenient for us to blame the MSM elite but ask yourselves, was the Campaign working last night to have Ron available for live remote interviews for the morning shows today? Were they in constant contact with the producers, were they doing the technical and scheduling work necessary to make Ron flexibly available for interviews, are they working throughout the day today for Ron to make a splash tonight?

I wrote that on this forum last night, I wrote it to Benton and Snyder, I've done what I can do.

Yesterday presented the biggest pr opportunity of the season. The only people sanctioned to capitalize on it are the campaign officials. Did they email a press release and wait by the phone? That's not how it works.

When there is no grandiose conspiracy

then we will be left with the same limited, biased, narrow-minded, self-interested reporters and producers working desparately hard to get out an *entertainment* product in the next two hours. They will not have the wisdom to *see* the inherent value of Ron Paul enough to risk their reputations as 'serious' to shill for him.

They will continue to think he does not have a chance because he misses all the characteristics of a "serious candidate":
- Wanting to promote big government programs
- Having introduced major new big government programs
- Supported by X Union and Y industry lobbying group
- Having been heard from many times on talking head shows as a "Person of Significance".
- Being someone who the other networks are talking about
- Being a poll leader before he even speaks just by name recognition.

Not only will they ignore him because he does not fit their prior beliefs, but they may well indiividually decide to undermine him because:
- They chose their job because they like big government and they want to be in a position to influence that big government to Do The Right Thing.
- Their job is to interview government -- if government diminishes in power, what happens to their job?
- They receive threatening letters calling them stupid, making them just a bit angry
- They find out that what they consider some rather "dangerous" groups "support" Ron Paul
- Many of Ron Paul's policy suggestions sound just crazy because they were taught that, say, the IRS is necessary ever since they were 6 years old and they're not going to change their mind in 30 secs.

So, even if there were a Vast Corporate Conspiracy, and that VCC could be busted by our awareness and action, IIMO, we would still receive about the same coverage we receive now.

The only way to receive more/better coverage is to go after the real root causes -- ignorance, assumptions, fear, etc.

Paul is punching above his weight mediawise

He needs to use the time more wisely and be a better guest.

He doesn't have to communicate everything at once.

Be a little more receptive to give and take.

His ideas are going to take a while to come through, and he also needs to demonstrate that he can respond to intelligent questions and consider change.

It was true that RP and us were not getting attention. Now we are, so now is the time to take a deep breath and approach people with a more relaxed attitude. Goes for the candidate and his supporters.

Debates

Guess you haven't been watching the Debates.
Or anything else.
Another guy calling the game, from the grandstand.

The Media are Pimps not Reporters

Pimping Huckabee and Hillory and marganilizing real news. Ron Paul has more people and excitement and CNN has been pimping Hukcabee and Hillory.

Fox today at least didn't throw in the marganalizing prefixes like "long shot" ect like CNN and the other talking heads.

After this month I'm returning the cable box.

JP for media campaign manager

Sounds like Dr Paul could use you on the camapaign. He needs someone to politic for him to the Major Media. I see some appearances tommorrow listed on the campaign website, but more could certainly be done. We do tend to rail against the establishment...lets get them to start working for us.
Nice Post

all i have to say..

First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they attack you and then you win.

Who said that? ;)

Who said that? ;)

I love this statement!

I only sarcastically ask

I only sarcastically ask that because it's so overused at this point, it makes me roll my eyes every time I see it now. I'm sure I'll see it a thousand more times before the election.

The media BIAS(not

The media BIAS(not conspiracy as it is out in the open now!) is evident not in the fact of how many interviews the campaign management schedules and all that. Although the original poster is right in hoping they are doing 1145% their job of ensuring Ron gets on television.

The media BIAS is evident by the amount they DONT talk about RP when they have all the reason to. It's the side conversations, so to speak, that occur by media pundits when discussing the news that really gets people thinking about a candidate. They dont discuss Ron Paul's news very much when he has some, and when they do it's almost like it's just canned material!

"He's changing how future campaigns will utilize the 'net"

"Will he run third party?"

"He won't win, but. . ."

They dont take him SERIOUSLY. They have every reason to. When RP was excluded from the Iowa tax debate, then we went on and got him in the very next room right after said debate, and Ron Paul outdrew the tax debate by about 500 people!, there was NO media coverage. None. They were still calling us an internet phenomena then. Remember those days when that phrase was spewed whenever Ron Paul was brought up? They can't say that about him anymore, but they say "Libertarian this and that" "darkhorse" "low in the polls" "isolationaist"

Oh, and about the polls.

The MSM WORSHIPS these BS poll numbers!!!

We all know they are not an accurate representation of people in America, yet they are used to "accurately" gauge a candidates "likability" by most Americans!!! That is the ONLY reason Huckabee is doing well, oh and the potentially tainted Iowa straw poll results. . .

So, no media conspiracy? You're right, it's outright bias.

When the MSM treats RP seriously like all other "top-tier" candidates, then I think everyone on this forum and everywhere else will shut up about this supposed conspiracy.

Really ?

Explain the Couric situation .

Some just don't get it

Why do some waste posting space with absolute worthless points like this? Better yet why are some allowed?

You are making me crazy

Newspapers and TV stations are owned by HUMAN BEINGS!

It is not the "media." It is not some THING. They are businesses that are owned and controlled by living, breathing human beings.

PLEASE DO SOME RESEARCH. GOOD GOD!

In the 1970's 34 different companies owned all the US media. If the hose job FCC scum pass the next law, it will be FIVE.

Buffett, Murdoch, Zell etc etc. These are the people you are talking about in your post. There is no mystery here. THEY HAVE THEIR motivations and they have the power. They don't have power for some deep complex unexplainable "conspiracy" reason ...THEY HAVE THE POWER BECAUSE THEY ARE THE F%#$ING BOSS!

You gotta boss? He can fire your ass. You write for a paper? Mr. Zell can send you home whenever he wants.

Understood? Good now do some research.

Mr Zell Gives $2300 to Rudy, Mrs. Zell $2300 to Hillary...go look it up. Mr. Ruppert gives his money to Clinton. The biggest investment bank in the world (Goldman Sachs) gives their money to Hillary...they sell the treasuries at the auctions, and they are the New York Time's investment banker! Look up the person that owns the newspaper or the TV station and see who they want to win. Then the mystery is solved.

I GOT A BIG BLACKOUT NEWS FLASH FOR YA..."THEY" DON'T WANT RON PAUL TO WIN!

What? You need and MBA from freaking Harvard to figure out that the 5 guys who own all the media in the US don't want Dr. Paul to win? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

If my boss tells me NOT to do something and I do it HE FIRES MY ASS!

What we need Einstein here? Sheesh! Take a deep breath or something why don't ya?

We want it more than they do, that is why they are afraid of us.

T

Unify

Down boy. . . Amidst the

Down boy. . .

Amidst the angst-ridden tirade, you are right. They is the boss, and the boss a no likey the Ronnie Paul guy. 'Nuff said, ya dig?

Biased media

Two months or maybe even six weeks ago I might have given your opinion some validity. The past month's msm antics and especiailly today, your article is an insult to my good sense and intelligence. I don't know what Kool-Aid you're drinking, but you oughtta think about changing flavors.

It's blatantly clear in the smears, lieing hit pieces, left out of polls, hostile and corny interviews, negative spin on fact, biased headlines, etc....

The press/media DO get alerts! What are we supposed to do, rent thousand dollar ballrooms and supply catered meals at called press conferences, just to get the media to show up?

With all due respect, your post is ridiculous.

The official campaign needs to market their product better.

That's what you are saying.

She said, dad, dad, they got Ron Paul on finally

hmm, my 15 year old daughter almost fell over when they showed Ron Paul today on the evening news with Katy Couric. She said, dad,, dad, they got Ron Paul on finally, look, there he is.

She has been looking for him in all the polls and she has seen how the media has been censoring him. This is good though, it has finally sunk in that the media is biased.

Even a 15 year old can see what is going on.

exactly total BS

Just think what will happen to most of these special interest people in the media and corporations. Compare it to what happened after Nov 5th...
All the media were surprised and were blasting it all over the place. Now most of them already knew about it and I am more than certain they got their orders from above to keep it as silent as possible.
Do you think they'll be happy if Ron Paul became the next president? Get real! NO wonder this is called REVOLUTION

bull@#%&*

mike huckabee can queef a silent fart and it makes news. yeah, the campaign could use some organization skillls but to say theres no conspiracy is extremely naieve (did i spell that right?) anyways you know what i mean. he is getting way too much attention. i guarantee even if ron paul won iowa they would do everything they can to downplay it. no doubt in my mind

Have you seen the campaign website?

It appears not

Dec 18
1. Ron Paul on Fox & Friends
Fox News Channel
7:15 AM ET
2. Ron Paul on CNN American Morning
CNN
8:15 AM ET
3. Ron Paul on Morning Joe
MSNBC
8:30 AM ET
4. Jan Mickelson interviews Ron Paul
WHO Radio
9:00 AM CT
5. Glenn Beck interviews Ron Paul
CNN Headline News
Check local listings

prime time not

all in the morning when everyone is at work and they save the primetime for glen beck to make him look like a koook or at least attempt to. also when they talk about huck or anyone else on prime time ron paul is rarely mentioned and theyll talk about huck all fricken night thats a fact!

Beck

I don't know about Beck. I am sure he will ask some tough questions, but that is ok, RP usually hits them out of the park.

It is fantastic and I did see it.

But it is all on their terms. It is reactive rather than proactive. Valuable but it depends on their invitations. I, and others, have suggested that the campaign be more proactive in feeding the news to the media.

h-daddy

How do you know?

The campaign could have called and asked to be on, they said they were full tomorrow but the 18th was good.

You could be right. I don't know

at all how it played out. But I do know this mornings news was a fat lady in florida who married 10 illegal immigrants, Hillary Clinton on 3 stations, and Joe Leiberman pimping John McCain. Not a dicky bird about RP and the $6 million. Ball dropped.

h-daddy

You tried

to have an intelligent discussion but too much other "stuff" got in the way. I'm with you on this. But I am hopeful that it will all turn out all right. If come next Nov. RP isn't the next president I am quite certain it is because this campaign was not savvy about gaining exposure. Keep the faith.
