MLK "Free at last" Money Bomb

Never too early for planning the next money bomb. How about a Martin Luther King Birthday "Free at Last" money bomb. I think this would tie in nicely with the main theme of the campaign "FREEDOM". What do you think??

I think it's a bad idea...

It would muddy the theme of Ron's campaign, which is restoring the rights of all Americans, not just black Americans in particular, which was MLK's focus. I would not want to see Ron sidelined with questions about affirmative action, etc., when he should be talking about the destruction of our liberties under this administration.

stop showing your Racist ignorance!!

MLK was for Freedom and Liberty for ALL People, the same as Ron Paul, if you wanna support Dr Paul leave your Racst Crap at the Door!!! this Revolution is for ALL People!!! Free At Last Money Bomb!!!!!

Feb 29th

far enough away, also leap year 2008, and I believe Mrs. Pauls birthday

MLK day I believe is a bad idea.

I thought Dec. 31 was the next money bomb

Thought I read that someplace.

Not MLK

Several reasons.

It's too soon, MLK is dislike by many Paul supporters, other days are more appropriate.

Sixteenth amendment day is good, so is presidents day. I personally like Reagans birthday. The Pauls anniversary. In my opinion it should be in Feb. Possibly on the 5th since that co incides with the day many primaries are held. It would show support regardless of his showing on that day. Plus since about half of the last money bomb supporters were new that means half were repeats. That means some will need time to raise enough money to donate again. Plus it will be more time to simply have more donors. The down side of doing it on the 5th is that it will be overshadowed by primary results. I personally think that doesn't matter because the press is less and less likely to cover our fundraising anyway. It's results that matter now.

Martin Luther King did alot

Martin Luther King did alot of good, and spouted a lot of memorable rhetoric, but he didn't practice what he preached, in fact what they dont teach you in grade school is that he constantly stepped out on his wife.

Extremism in the defense of Liberty is no vice.

Extremism in the defense of Liberty is no vice.

Huckabee's so called money bomb

i like Dec. 27th it's Huckabee's money bomb and we need to get Paul well over the 20 million mark so he can start the campaign in open primary states like mine in Missouri. let's make it $2 million on dec. 27th and double what Mike is trying to raise. double mike's one day surge and @ the end we will raise 5x's as much as he has in the 4th qtr.

President's Day not MLK day

The next money bomb should not be on MLK day. It is ridiculous to do it on MLK day simply because he is black. I don't think Ron Paul would consider doing something based on one's race or ethnic background, nor should we.

Simply put MLK was a socialist. The exact opposite of Ron Paul.

MLK @ Frogmore, South Carolina, November 14, 1966. Speech in front of his staff -----

"There must be a better distribution of wealth and maybe America must move toward a democratic socialism."

The next day is

presidents day. I saw the ad very nice. Dr. Paul really admired MLK because
he mentions him every once in while. How Dr. King was able to accomplish so much with non violent efforts. It would be nice if Dr. Paul would even give a speech on Dr. Kings birthday would be interesting to hear.

Prepare & Share the Message of Freedom through Positive-Peaceful-Activism.

agreed

A Presidents Day money bomb would be good timing as mid January would be far enough after the holidays for people to have more money to donate and by then alot of new people with fresh money will have seen advertising so the campaign can reload the cash register for Super Tuesday, I like the idea!

At least...

It would dispel any accusations that we are white supremacists! On the other hand, it brings to mind Hillary putting on her fake black accent at a rally not too long ago...

'Cause there's a monster on the loose

I don't think the Black Community would dig it.

Down South they celebrate Robert E. Lee's Bday the same day as MLK day. I don't think they want another white man taking away MLK Day's thunder.

Feb 3: THE SIXTEENTH AMENDMENT!!!

.

Horrible idea

Ron Paul opposes much of the legislation that came out of the Civil rights movement.

He recently voted against celebrating the civil rights act of 1964.

Please my fellow Paul friends, do a little more research on your man.

In my Opinion....

It's not about what came out to the civil rights movement...it's about the character of Dr. King!

Symbolism.....

Great idea.

I have thought of us doing something in mid-January for MLK junior, too. Perhaps have Ron speak about MLK junior or something as well.

Bad idea

Dr. Paul actually opposes alot of the legislation and federal involvement that was enacted in response to the civil rights movement. Forced intergration, etc...

Recently Paul voted against the symbolic act of celebrating the Civil Rights act of 1964.

b-b-bad idea.

I beg to differ, but you may be right

The only way to know. ..... lets ask Ron Paul. Please fire off an email and ask if Ron Paul would have problem with this date.

A side note, he also voted against Rosa Parks getting a mettal of honor ..... but on TV he said it was hard for him because he totally supports the right of Civil Disobedence and protest. Ronald Reagan also did not get his vote for the same reason.... not the job of the Fed govt to spend money like that.

Perhaps its an OPPORTUNITY for Ron Paul to state WHY he likes certain things about the Civil Rights Movement, but disagreed with the part that violates private property rights of business owners. Today the anti smokers are violating business private property rights.....soon we will have the Fat Police in the food busines.

I would like to know what Ron Paul says, Up or Down? Let us know.

The Rosa Parks medal and

The Rosa Parks medal and Symbolic vote to celebrate the Civil rights act of 1964 are apples and oranges.

He opposed the medal, not because he was against Rosa Parks, but because he thought the gov. had no right to take tax payer money for such an item.

He opposed celebrating the Civil rights act of 1964 because he opposes the legislation in principle.

In my Opinion....

I still think it's a good idea because of WHO Dr. King was....
Dr. Paul prolly didn't like a lot of things about Guy Fawkes or the movie "V" either....but it's the symbolism that everyone can get behind!!!

AND..much like "The Boston Tea Party" there isn't much "bad" association that can be linked to Dr. King.

good luck explaining

why he voted against the celebrating the Civil rights act of 1964 in a 10 second sound bite.

I agree...

This is a fantastic idea!!!!!

I think this should be the next big donation day. But I think since we are all prolly getting closer to being maxed out...we should set a small goal...say maybe 2 mill....that way, no matter what, we are good!

Too Close to Super Tuesday?

The symbolism is a great idea.

The campaign needs money for Super Tuesday.

The campaign needs to start broadcasting well ahead of Super Tuesday.

The campaign needs to pay for the ads well ahead of that again.

I'm afraid January 21 could be a bit late.

Any other thoughts?

take a break

I think it is a nice auspicious date, but I also think we should give it a rest. Let's wait for some cues from the campaign over what is needed and when.

Go play in the snow or Christmas shop or something! ;-)

now you're talking!

Yeah! Once the IA & NH push is past, time to publicize elsewhere.

Has anybody uploaded a graphic for a stencil template for Ron Paul R(love)ution which could be printed out on standard printers or plotted out on a standard 36" plotter?

This needs a new thread.

Jan 21st

It's a little too late, let's find another goodwilling moneybomb date.

Too Late??? What do you

Too Late??? What do you mean. Do we need money bombs every week? I don't think so.
