Time to really put on the thinking caps.
Congrats to everyone who donated yesterday. What an amazing feat.
I scoured the internet all last night and this morning and some newspapers are doing articles and such BUT the OLD MEDIA (CNNCBSMSNBCFOX) seems to be burying the story thus far.
(CNN has a mention on its page but its buried fairly deep)
It seems that it's the "been there done that mentality" taking over
and of course IF Bloomberg throws his hat in the ring as an independent, thats all we'll all hear for hour after droning hour.
It's time for something new. Something that will totally throw them off track. Whether its a national canvassing week as declared by the grassroots or a superbowl ad sponsored by US, something needs to be done to shock the system.
We need some catchy phrases and something brilliant.
e.g. SUPER PAUL'S DAY (Superbowl Ad?)
Give your thoughts.

3K Charity Race Dedicated to Liberty
Setup a 3K run with sponsors for each runner (like the good ol' walk-a-thon) and advertisements for the run.
All proceeds go to [insert charity here] and it would have to be covered by old media. New York, Boston or Philly (or perhaps somewhere warmer during this time of the year)
Also, old media targets people who do not use computers or know how to use them in an effective manner. Could we give out free PCs that are RP branded? Just a couple thoughts...
the last thing we need is another gimmick
The only thing that can really be done at this point is more fundraising and just handing out flyers and that kind of thing. But im sure that half hour ad in Iowa will introduce him to tons of new people. If he were to somehow win in Iowa I would think he would pretty much have the election at that point.
You've all GOT to be kidding about a Superbowl ad!
So, members of the Ron Paul revolution, who are fighting for the very survival of liberty and our Constitution, against the front-line forces of darkness represented by the corporate media, are going to raise millions of dollars for a Superbowl ad, and then hand that money over to the enemy?
We know Dr. Paul will end the drug war, but you guys shouldn't be celebrating already!

Easy-peel stickers - quick, cheap, effective
One of the very best promotional tools I have seen yet is a set of easy-peel stickers offered at www.infiniteronpaul.com. You can print them directly from the site onto Avery labels. They are designed so that you can stick them anywhere - bathroom mirrors, mall doors, bus stop shelters, handrails, airport waiting areas, etc. The message on the stickers is succint and effective, and the stickers are easy peel-off so that people can grab them and take them home, and so that property owners don't get pissed. Perhaps best of all, the stickers direct people back to the infiniteronpaul.com site, so *those* people can start printing and sticking labels as well. It's totally viral.
If we get thousands of people printing and sticking these, we can reach millions and millions of eyeballs. And every set of eyeballs will be a potential new sticker-poster. Let's cover the country in Ron Paul stickers!

It would be far better to
It would be far better to wear a Ron Paul sticker than to stick in on every surface in sight. Don't contribute to pollution, wear the sticker then at least people can ask you questions.

Yea, except... people don't like it
when you do the Sen. Larry Craig thing and talk to them across bathroom stalls... much less asking them if they saw your "pin" or "button."
BUT, you can easily put a "sticker" on the back of the bathroom stall door -- you know, just to give people something to read while they are taking care of business.
And they can stare at it for the 3 or 5 minutes or ...well however long it takes to drill in the Campaign Issue and associate it with RonPaul2008.com!
I saw a Paulite sign waving
I saw a Paulite sign waving , and his sign said "FREEZING FOR FREEDOM"
How about we all freeze for freedom? and get out there and promote Ron Paul. I just gave a slim jim to a kid in store 24. Turns out he likes Ron Paul and that slim jim just helped him like Ron Paul a little bit more.

Full page ads in Iowa newspapers
I am bumping this topic because there was a suggestion made that I thought was a really good idea but that I haven't see anyone respond too -- on the previous page of comments, 'Just a guy' suggested that we put full page ads in newspapers, especially smaller ones, all over Iowa. Was I the only one that thought that this was a really good idea?
For added effect, suppose that these ads were all scheduled for the same day, say the Sunday after Christmas (December 30th).
Kick Off
I am researching the possibility today of a Superbowl Ad but I am dusting off some old connections. Perhaps someone can get the answer first?
Perhaps we can work through the Americans United for Liberty PAC (Operation NH)?
I have registered (just in case) ronpaulsuperbowlad.com if AUL PAC or any other diligent folks want to use it.
Please contact me at aarondday@gmail.com for coordination or if I can help in anyway.
Bottom line, if there is a chance that we can buy an ad if we raise X number of dollars by Y date..then we should go for it. If the goal is not reached then the money raised can be spent on NH or IA or SC ads.
(Its amazing what people can do when they are given the chance to engage in voluntary collective action. Congratulations to everyone for every effort so far!)
I don't think this is a good
I don't think this is a good use of money. It's the MOST EXPENSIVE advertising of the year. And, as we know, the most effective Super Bowl ads usually have skantly clad women in them, ala GoDaddy. That's the audience. They are not thinking about politics my friend.
And, as someone said above, why turn over all this money to one television network? Take the Blimp for instance. How many CBS billboards would one have to purchase space on to accomplish what that one blimp is accomplishing? Hundreds? Thousands? And NONE of that money goes to any of the big networks that are doing their best to marginalize Dr. Paul.
I think that we have the fundraising mechanism pretty well set up. We can repeat the bombs monthly until Dr Paul is President. Now we need to focus on PHYSICAL EFFORT. Just what do we have to do to physically get out the vote, as Dr Paul said on CNN today?
I love the Idea of a Superbowl ad
but as far as I can check the time has already been sold. We love to think big but at times I think that it distracts from what little can do. All the money we raise in the end is just a news story for the old media to pick up or not and most times it is to not. I look at youtube and to see the Tea Party's all over the world? How could any free media not take notice of the true Revoluition? The truth is they do not want to take notice and no matter what we do they will not. What can we do? We can change one voters mind. What can we give that is bigger then any supper bowl add, bigger then any money, we can give our time. The day before Christmas and after the malls will be packed. Take advantage of the mass and use it.
Superbowl Ad!
I first started visualizing a Superbowl ad back in June. I'd finance it myself if I could. Maybe I could with the help of others? In the meantime, maybe the campaign or, if it turns into another independent grassroots effort, whoever raises the funds for this could make it into another contest like the new ad for the debate a while back. Either that, or hire someone to make the ad, because if it's shown during the Superbowl if needs to be at least reasonably professional, and we've seen how the campaign ads have been so far. Charming, endearing, but not entirely professional. My qualm with "Fortunate Son" is Superbowl ads usually make their debut during the Superbowl, so we need something never before shown on T.V.
The superbowl would be great!!
They just need like two thirty second ads. "Fortunate son" would have my vote.
You can't take up too much time though; it's costly and would turn many people off.

Guinness Book
December 16, 2007 should get Ron Paul in the Guinness Book of World Records. We can follow this lead in each of the primary states with an attempt to shatter any existing record or create a new one. Recruiting local rp students will be relatively easy. The free publicity will spark more interest in Ron Paul. Later, we can have a 'pass the torch' race from both coasts running to the middle of our country to light an eternal 'liberty flame' like the one at JFK's memorial. At this time we may not have enough supporters to link hands across America. However, if we printed rp signs on rolls of tyvek and then connected the rolls, we could get some serious distances and serious attention state wide. Taking two rolls laid out at 90 degree angles and you could gift wrap a medium size building. More publicity.

really great idea
Really great idea! You should get started on this immediately and be sure to keep us updated as to how it is going! Awesome!
Letter to the Editor
Small thing, but easy to do and free. If we all wrote a "letter to the editor" of our local newspaper I know it would make a difference. We can highlight the issues that people in our area are concerned about, then state how Ron would address those specific concerns. Don't know if all newspapers will accept letters supporting a specific candidate, but the ones in my area do. I'm going to do it!
Ron Paul cured my apathy!
this is a great idea - - I
this is a great idea - - I am preparing to write a lenghty editorial -type letter to two of three local papers describing Paul's stances similar to how he described them on Glenn Beck's show, and I really hope one of the papers is impressed with my writing. I recently got Paul's name into a story about Joe Biden because a reporter asked me some questions and I brought up what I felt like bringing up, but the fact that I'm 21 and into politics really surprises and impresses people. I think the younger supporters here need to utilize this.
We are the future, and we care about politics.
Local newspapers love that stuff

I Truly Love this Ad!
"Fortunate Son"
We need to show this at least twice during the Super Bowl!
I also encourage another 1~2 minute SUPER Commercial. Yes it would be expensive; however, the shear number of viewers just prior to Super Tuesday the 5th of February would be simply ASTOUNDING!!!
I suggest that we ALL support the RP Blimp to make sure that it can fly over and/or near the Super Bowl. Remember, the Super Bowl consist of a WEEK of activities leading up to the game!
There is simply No better way to reach the masses than to put the commercials AND the RP Blimp at the Super Bowl!!
I ask... No Actually I am begging that we all come to an agreement to make this our Next (Money Bomb) Goal.
I have contacted Trevor (from Nov. 5 and the Tea Party) with the idea.
There is NOOO WAYYYY that the MSM (OLD MEDIA) can ignore this... Period!!!
The whole culture of America has revolved around this event for 20++
THIS MUST BE OUR NEXT GOAL!!
1-2 minutes into even
1-2 minutes into even remotely in the ball park.
It cost $2.4 million or so for 30 seconds and I wouldn't expect the RP
campaign or anybody else really to get more airtime than that.
One slick 30 second one would do the trick.
Puppets come and puppets go but the world's stage is getting cluttered.
Ron Paul Donation Centers
How to create a Ron Paul Donation Center:
Step 1, Create a folded sign, 3 x 4, shaped like a letter A. This is very stable sign and requires no posts. You can take it anywhere. Make it out of Plywood. Put two hinges at the joint at the top. You can place 4 or 5 five of them in the trunk of your car. They fold nicely.
Step 2, Paint a professional sign on it that says on both sides,
"Ron Paul for President 2008
Campain Donation HQ /
(Image of the American Flag)
Contribute $$ Today! /
Free Revolution T Shirts!"
Step 3: Place easy to install Real Estate Arrow signs to point directions to find you. These arrows are found at ACE hardware or any Real Estate Sign store. Its just an Arrow pointing. Make sure all arrows point too:
Step 4: Set yourself up outside at Your neigborhood Starbucks. There set up two lap top computers. On one lap top, repeatedly show 3 you tube Videos: NEW HOPE, Our Power Our Responsibility, and Its Big, Really Big Campaign Ad
Step 5: Where Ron Paul shirt and a big Smile. When people approach to watch the video, and they are done watching, ask them, "would you like to make a Campaign Contribution today? I can help you here. With your other lap top on the Ron Paul donate page, take down their name, address, and then turn the computer to them to let them type in their Credit Card number.
Step 6: Give them a Free Ron Paul Revolution T-Shirt for donating... and a big smile. Try to write down their name, address, and phone on a legal pad --- so you can send them more info and remind them to vote on Election Day. Tell them you can help them find their right precinct to vote in. Have some voter Registration forms ready just in case. Have fun for two or three hours after work. Sip a hot chocolate, stay off the coffee -- We patriots are pumped up enough!
Like this idea? Pass it on.... Post it up in other places... make it your own.

Real stuff you can do now. Quit moaning about the MSM not covering RP because they will NEVER COVER him unless their jobs are on the line.
These are three articles that I wrote which may give you some ideas of what you can do now, instead of sucking your thumbs and crying:

What about this
Don't believe what you see on the news
What if we got together and put one vehicle every one half mile on the interstate from the Florida keys to the panhandle that had someone with a sign saying Goggle Ron Paul. It would only take about 15 hundred people, but think what people would think if they were driving up the interstate in FL or any state and every half mile or even mile that someone had a sign that asked who is Ron Paul.
Now that is advertisement that doesn't cost that much.
What do yall think?
Don't believe what you see on the news
Definately an attention getter!
That would definately get some attention! You should begin organizing this ASAP!
How about a series of Burma
How about a series of Burma Shave style ads lining highways everywhere... you remember those? A clever series of billboards that tell a rhyme or story in series.

Another Great one!
That's a great one! As soon as you get 'em up be sure to take some digital pictures and post them online for us to see!
TV ads
I wish there was a way the official ad selection could be more organic. I think the campaign sells the good Dr short. Now I know we cant use most of the internet You Tube stuff because of the copyrights, but I've seen some great ads that we could use. I think the next beg push should be to fund that guy Jeremiah Blacks ads http://www.operationnh.com/ and put them where we want them. The official campaign has more money than they know what to do with. Now I think we are going to have to do it for them.
Ron Paul Fan Book
I like the idea below that WE could write a book about Ron Paul. There is lots of writing talent among us and we could spruce it up with some great photos: the blimp, the tea party, and do you remember that time when people from MIT put up that November 5th sign on one of their buildings?
The book could have several parts: our explaining of issues, our fond memories of campaigning, funny stories, how we learned of Dr Paul etc...
We'd all forego our royalties so it should not be difficult to find a publisher. The proceeds would go to the campaign (or blimp).
