Ron Paul in Line to Head Congressional Sub-Committee Overseeing Fed's Actions Post Election

Thanks to my friend Ed for passing this along via John Taylor's article, A Major Risk Reversal Is Coming Soon, posted at Zero Hedge:

...After the Republican victory things will change. The Fed will be hamstrung, as Ron Paul, a conservative standard-bearer and harsh critic of the Fed, will head the sub-committee overseeing its actions. Liquidity expansion or new programs will probably drop sharply under his watch. Paul would argue that the Fed’s unfettered ability to “debase” the currency is about to come to an end.

Result: The market is headed for a crash.

In just 2 days, this will be

In just 2 days, this will be THE issue regarding Ron Paul. It was much easier to pass over him a few years back. Let's see what Ron suggests.

10-15 million more voters need to believe in non-interventionism (liberty) at home and abroad to change America. Minds changed on Syria. Minds changing on privacy. "Printing money" is part of the dialogue. Win minds through focus, strategy.

Whoa! That would be huge.

I firmly believe that ending the fed is THE most important issue of our day.

Until we change the way money works, we change nothing.

Ben is openly calling for

debasing the currency. That is a capitol offense under the U.S. Coinage Act of 1792 in which the penalty is death for anyone found to be debasing the currency. So? What are we waiting for? Ron should call for Ben's punishment publicly.

it may be muddied

because fed notes are already unconstitutional.  But for most, it is the "coin of the realm"...But the mint still produces constitutional eagles and real coins, which aren't debased.  Just so, so little.

Would they really let him lead a committee?

    How are committee chairs chosen?

    Chairmen are nominated by the

Chairmen are nominated by the party's Steering Committee, and approved by the full party. And no, I do not think they will allow Ron Paul to head the Financial Services Committee, even though he has seniority.

It's not the full banking committee

It's a sub-committee, one which has jurisdiction over Fed issues.

The GOP's been taking a new tone toward Ron Paul and other non-mainstream personalities this year.

Given how the GOP seems to have been scared straight by the Tea Party, to the extent that they even Lamar Alexander came to stump for O'Donnel in Delaware, it seems unlikely that they would want to overstep seniority like that.

Another strong argument for petitioning Congress to make..

Ron Paul Speaker of the House.

    I agree

I agree, the GOP will find some way to keep him off of the sub-commitee chairmanship. They did it before, they will do it again. Don't be surprised if the GOP digs up some old relic on his last term and they put him in charge to rubberstamp the wishes of the GOP leadership and the FED.

Just keep educating them, Dr. Paul, that's all we can hope for.

    Ron Paul 2012!

    rp as chairman

ye... i think the GOP wouldn't let it happen either.

And then the Fed and media will have a nice scapegoat. Just blame it all on Ron Paul.

It is a worry that the corrective crisis

that needs to happen to get the country working, will be on the watch of people doing the right things but misunderstood and blamed by the media and BigGov believers. Since most people understand so little, they could be easily fooled into thinking the correction is the problem rather than the healing crisis.
I hope Dr. Paul and his advisors are thinking this through very carefully and figuring out how to educate the public at the same time as pulling the plug on the Fed's illusion of beneficence.

    A rEVOLution

Or this catapults him into the limelight for doing whats right for America, principally over his party.
