Suggestion for Meetups: "Adopt a Neighborhood" program

I'm sure all of you have seen those signs along the highway that say "Adopt a highway - the next mile was adopted by _______." The purpose of the "Adopt a highway" program is to keep the highway free of litter by letting specific individuals and groups be responsible for cleaning up any trash left by people (or the wind). From what I've seen (in terms of much less trash and litter along "adopted" highways), this program has been a huge success.

So, why couldn't all the meetup groups across the country put this same concept to work for Ron Paul by starting an "Adopt a Neighborhood" program for their members? By dividing up each city and town into managable neighborhoods (say 1 square mile in size) and assigning each available member with the responsibility of saturating that neighborhood with Ron Paul signs, door-to-door visits, etc., we could put in place a very effective mechanism for reaching every potential voter in the country with the wonderful news of Ron Paul's campaign to restore America to its roots of freedom, prosperity, and peace! Perhaps they already have implemented a program like this. But, just in case they haven't, I thought I'd suggest it.

Excellent idea!!!

This is a wonderful plan. I will definitely try to use it with my meetup. Everyone should give it a shot too.

I just talked with a RP supporter who is also working on his own campaign for state rep. (and who has worked on campaigns for years -- including Bush in '04) and he said it is still so essential to do the canvassing work. Even thought this is not a traditional campaign, it is still important to have the face-to-face contact with potential voters.

Let's do it!
