National Naked Scanner Opt-Out Day, Nov 24, 2010
Submitted by Michael Nystrom on Thu, 11/11/2010 - 09:45Save the date, mark the calendar and spread the word.
November 24th is the day ordinary citizens stand up for their rights, stand up for liberty, and protest the federal government's desire to virtually strip us naked or submit to an "enhanced pat down" that touches people's breasts and genitals. You should never have to explain to your children, "Remember that no stranger can touch or see your private area, unless it's a government employee, then it's OK."
The goal of National Opt Out Day is to send a message to our lawmakers that we demand change. No naked body scanners, no government-approved groping. We have a right to privacy and buying a plane ticket should not mean that we're guilty until proven innocent. This day is needed because many people do not understand what they consent to when choosing to fly.

I am doing my part by opting out of flying entirely.
Me too.

How's It Going In the Airports Out There?
I'm predicting that the people trying to organize the opt-out day aren't those that are actually flying and the response won't be as expected. Flying on Thanksgiving is tough enough already. But I'll bet that there will be a lot of letters from people like me that will refuse to fly after they experience "papers please". Here's my mettle, just sent to 2 airports and 4 airlines.
To whom it may concern,
I am writing to let you know of my deep concern with the intrusive nature of recent security screenings with both high powered xray devices as well as hands on searches. I will no longer be taking my two annual leisure flights in additional to random business trips throughout the year unless these intrusive policies are reversed.
Please reconsider your security policies.
Sincerely,
JJames

Patience my friend.
It will be a LONG holiday for the TSA.
It's not a dud - TSA just tried to make it look like a non-event
by turning off the scanners and the media spun it. See this article by Paul Joseph Watson editor of PrisonPlanet.com: http://www.prisonplanet.com/scandal-tsa-restricts-scanners-t...

My part
Since I did not have to fly today, I still did my part by e-mailing all major airlines and informing them that their actions were treasonous and that I would no longer fly until the TSA backs down or is removed completely.
You can also email resorts and vacations sites like expedia or orbitz and let them know how you feel!

This guy is a hero in our movement - he worked for Ron Paul in NH back in the day:
SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - New airport screening procedures are creating a lot of backlash. One San Diego man took his opposition to full-body scanners and pat-downs to a new level.
Sam Wolanyk was arrested for stripping down to his underwear at Lindbergh Field last week.
The 40-year-old was heading out for a four-day trip to Barbados when he declined to go through a full-body scanner. As a TSA agent explained the pat-down procedure, Wolanyk took off his shirt and jeans and placed them on a table.
"I said 'I'm not refusing the process. I understand that you're supposed to pat down any anomalies that you see in clothing. There are no anomalies here,'" he said.

I think this another example
I think this another example of problem - reaction - solution. The government knew people would make a fuss over the body scanners, so they created this problem intentionally to provoke the angry reactions we're now seeing. Their solution will be to roll out iris and thumbprint scanning machines and passengers can submit biometric data to a national database if they wish to avoid the scans and the grope. The establishment wants us to beg for such a solution so they can pose as our saviors once again. This may also begin a debate over the idea that all travelers should be chipped (RFID) in order to receive a boarding pass (personally, I think that's further down the road after people have been conditioned with biometric scans.)
While I agree that this could
While I agree that this could be part of the motive. I think alot of people will be suspicious because you can't see a bomb through someone's iris.
I doubt it
Nobody seems suspicious of the fact that they are flying along with literally tons of mail, parcels and air cargo that goes unscreened.
We have enhanced pat-down measures on passengers because of a printer ink cartridge on a cargo plane?
You give people WAY too much credit. They feel safer because their neighbor was molested by TSA?
Sure, check grandma for boobie-bombs, but go ahead and load that LD3 container over there without screening it. What threat could it possibly pose?
"Bring on the RFID, Butch Janet. They're ripe for the slaughter."
As long as polls show 51% of
As long as polls show 51% of the people approve of such a change, it won't matter if the other 49% are pointing this out. They know our attention span is short, and they have a massive propaganda planned or they wouldn't have started this mess.

I contacted Philly Intl
I contacted Philly Intl Airport and the Port Authority for the Newark Liberty Intl Airport and told both that me and my family will no longer be flying anywhere as long as TSA is involved.

We have a winner.
A sacrifice, I'm sure. Your commitment to restoring our liberty is appreciated.
Thank you.
National Get Molested Day
Because April 15th just wasn't enough.
I just saw the opt-out website joker on Fox News.
Pretty much encouraging people to take the groping.
What a loser with a failed strategy. How can you possibly suggest that a dad with 3 young girls, should send his daughters off to get molested?
Pathetic logic. I consider this clown to be an enemy of the Republic. We haven't the time for coddling idiots.
Kudos to Dr. Paul for condemning the sexual assaults.
Backfire ...
By all means go to airports and spread leaflets about this, but if you block the lines with slowing things down, YOU and our efforts to get rid of the TSA will take the ire that should go to the TSA and this unconstitutional scanning.
Our bad behaviour will backfire on us, it is not the way to fight this. Educate, but do not become the problem.
Just say no...
...to the Trained Sexual Assailants.
This is much bigger than airport scanners. It's about citizens standing up to the police state and reminding the government who's the boss.

Please join me in spreading the message at the airports.
Paul Craig Roberts just wrote a terrific article:

TSA Agent: Molester, pervert, disgusting, an embarrassment, creep. These are all words I have heard today at work describing me, said in my presence as I patted passengers down. These comments are painful and demoralizing, one day is bad enough, but I have to come back tomorrow, the next day and the day after that to keep hearing these comments. If something doesn’t change in the next two weeks I don’t know how much longer I can withstand this taunting. I go home and I cry.
Keep degrading these fools and they just may quite their jobs. Keep the pressure on!
Call in sick TSA agents
What if TSA agents refused to do their jobs and recognized that it is wrong. Is the job really worth it?
I suggest TSA agents not come to work tomorrow and stay home.
grant
I STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU
I STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU ALLOW THEM TO SEARCH YOU IN PUBLIC RATHER THAN TAKE YOU INTO A PRIVATE ROOM. THEY GIVE YOU THE OPTION OF A PRIVATE ROOM TO HIDE THEIR EVIL DOINGS, NOT BECAUSE THEY CARE ABOUT YOUR PRIVACY. LET EVERYONE SEE EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING!
Sorry for the caps but I think this is VERY important for not only the 24th but for any date.
I think it's interesting how
I think it's interesting how these topics pick up heat and cool down. Are the new TSA policies THAT much more intrusive than before? Why is it now that everyone is up in arms?

Have you ever flown? Yes, they are much more intrusive than before.
I strongly suggest that you don't fly; there are other ways to
get there.

And that
And that solves..........?
Many of us have to frequently travel for our jobs.
"OPT OUT and CLOTHES INSIDE OUT!"
For those not flying, wear your clothes inside out and show solidarity to those who must be fondled to fly. Blue jeans work especially well inside out. Try it, look in the mirror and you'll see why.
