Look what they've done to our sons, Moms. Updated.

I am not excusing this soldier. I have taken the very unpopular position that I do not support the troops. They are not doing anything I approve of any more, nothing. That said, Please take the time to read and bump this, "for the troops." You cannot pluck one toy soldier off the bottom of the stack and proclaim him "guilty" and pretend justice has been served.

Look what they've done to our sons, Moms.
Look what they've done to our sons, Moms.
It was the only thing we had to get right
and we let them turn them round all wrong, all wrong, Moms.
Look what they've done to our sons.

And another mother apologizes for what she let happen to her son...

Love won! Deliverance from Tyranny is on the way! Col. 2:13-15

He had the choice...

of going along to get along or take a stand, he made the wrong choice, he failed. It is not always easy to make the right choices.

From what I've read he or his family did report the incidents but I believe it was after the fact.

I think you miss my point

They are breaking or children. Only we can end the wars, but not leaving our children vulnerable to their lies. This thread is about Moms who failed, and what price they pay for that failure. Whether this man is guilty or innocent of framed or the scapegoat, his momma wishes she had done something differently.

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

"moms who failed"

If you think of it, all of society is taking part in creating these problems. And we don't know these mothers; they may have done an extraordinary job with the cards they were dealt but didn't get the outcome we hope for. That's just life.

Children are all born unique, and there is only so much parents can do to mold their chilren. Some children are just natural born fighters and gravitate to the military, seeing it as their calling. Some children sincerely believe they are doing something honorable. They've been brainwashed and lied to.

I just don't want to see the mothers taking all the blame.

I've read all the comments; I read the article--

I am not sure I would be sincere if I said, "thank you" for posting this, but . . .

I would rather know the truth.

It's horrible. I am sad. My heart goes out to this 'child'. He's not old enough to drink in most states.

As for the military, I am torn, deeply. I have NO connections to the military at all, though for a time briefly one of my loved ones 'flirted' with it and got injured before going overseas, and that is when *our* eyes were opened to what is going on, even at boot camp. This person did this without our blessing, and--we hope it will never happen again.

So, sometimes a young person will go 'berserk' and join the military, even a young person who was taught peace his/her entire life, and then what do parents do? We never glorified war; we did not watch war movies; we did not entertain violence in any form--

so what happens to these young people.

A parent can't just turn off, shut off love for a young person when that young person makes such a choice. Recruiters are, in my opinion, monsters.

And often judgement is poor. As an anti-war person (with my spouse) I was completely 'blown away' when this happened. I didn't stop loving my child. My greatest fear was that death or worse would come to my child--

My heart was in my throat, and I prayed non-stop and had bleary eyes from no sleep, and my food tasted like straw--

and then came the news that this young one whom we had taught (home school even), nurtured, warned about war, read the constitution to, fed healthy foods, etc.--

had been assaulted by a fellow soldier, brutally, and had said, "this isn't what I want" when the sargeant defended the aggressor and expected pain killers to take care of the injury--

and, rather than agreeing to continue in the military, slept on a concrete floor for two weeks, while the commanding officer tried to convince our young one to stay in--

at least our young one is stubborn. During that time the sargeant, from too many tours in Iraq, committed suicide, and the unit was in chaos--

a young person coughing up blood who was also told by the army doctor, "pain killers are all you need" was there on the concrete with our child.

I suppose we could have said, "we're disowning you for doing this ridiculous thing", but our young person was feeling desperate economically--

and parental love doesn't stop.

The most beautiful words I ever heard, when it was all over, and our young one was home were, "I didn't want to become a killing machine; I didn't know what it was all about when I went in."

Yes, this is heartbreaking; this is very heartbreaking.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Crimes against humanity

Illegal wars and occupations are destroying the economy while making our society stark raving mad. We killed over 1 million innocent Iraqis over bogus charges but yet, inexplicably, no one is held accountable. No trials - no investgigations - no one cares.

The American people are rabid war dogs that would kill 1 million more if the price of gas at the pump were reduced by $1.

Mothers and fathers don't care about their children as is evidenced by the fact that every new born American comes into the world with over $670,000 worth of debt -debt slavery!

Rev. Wright was right - God damned America

END the FED before it ENDS US

I don't support the troops

But I realize that an 18 year old does not always make the best life choices, especially in this economy.

I feel sorry for this young man.

A friend of mine has a son who wanted to join the service because he could not get a good job. My friend was able to get him in the Navy. He said the Navy is not involved in these wars.

We are wasting humans and all living things and creatures.

We must engage ourselves in a war against an enemy far more evil and destructive to life on this planet than random terrorism. The war we must win in order to survive long-term on Planet Eden is the “War Against Waste”.

At present we are wasting the future of all generations to follow. We are despoiling Planet Eden and wasting resources which God granted us to last until the end of time.

We are wasting fossil water and fossil fuels which took millions of years to develop. We strip mine and waste iron, aluminum, zinc, copper, lead, and other precious metals. We build beautiful buildings and then bulldoze them down along with the precious lumber with which they were built, on a whim. We leave our lights and heat and air-conditioning running when there is no need. We destroy and waste our forest resources. We pollute and destroy our rivers and oceans. We allow urban sprawl and blight to cover the land, replacing God’s Creation with a grid-locked wasteland.

We must stop the plunder and wage a war against the irresponsible waste of those precious resources which our children, grandchildren and all future generations will need for their very survival.

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

I agree with you but..

my view is even more unpopular; I not only do not support the troops, I refuse to call them soldiers or warriors. They are mercenaries for the US, nothing more. Why would anyone want to let their son or daughter be taken like that. The young man will never be the same, his very soul at 20 years young has been severely damaged, and for what.Scary thing is, he is one among many.

I am with you 100%.

Firstly, as much as I feel compelled to hold each soldier accountable to their 'oaths', they are in effect 'false oaths' b/c if they swear to uphold and defend 'the U.S. Constitution' many of us know it is a 'corporate Constitution' NOT the de jure Constitution that was lawful.

Given the massive dumbing down of the education of our history and law, it is no wonder almost all of them are not 'in their right minds' to discern. With all due respect to each and every soldier. This is not meant to be a put down in any way. It is this that I am outraged about because I have an 18 year old son and I'll be damned if they try to coerce him into their scam.

Therefore, soldiers are truly caught in the worst deception b/c true full disclosure of what they are swearing their allegiance to was never made clear to them re: they are nothing but security guards for the UN and their private banking interests.

I also heard that the oaths were changed in such a way that troops are swearing directly in support of their 'commander in chief, the president', which, if true, is truly egregious.

This is clearly in violation to the original de jure oaths of office and many soldiers may not understand that, and may do as they are told or face court martial.

Therefore, skewing the oaths in this way is truly heinous and murderous not just to the innocent people they violate in those sovereign countries, but once a soldier partakes in any of those heinous orders it is THEY that must forever more be haunted by their deeds they were ordered to do.

It truly takes an extraordinary individual soldier to resist orders or refuse to serve b/c they know they will face court martial in a corporate kangaroo court. Hence, no wonder at the ever escalating suicides by soldiers. Clearly, they find out too late that what they are partaking in is truly evil.

I do NOT support WHAT the troops are made to do because they must take orders, therefore, it would be those who GIVE THE ORDERS from the very top of the chain that I hold absolutely accountable for the highest charge of treason and in contempt of 'the people' b/c they clearly violate all the de jure treaties with other nations, Geneva conventions, Rules of engagement for military purposes, our Declaration of Independence, Constitution/People's Rights!

Grew up with that song you are referring to fishy amongst many other anti war songs from 60's/70's that tried to wake people up and 'think' what they are giving power to.

That is why I have signed my docs with the Republic of the united States of America. I am convinced beyond a doubt that this is the most effective solution to the woes of the people. Because the devils that are giving those orders today are falsely based upon the legal but not lawful 'jurisdiction' that they have esconced their foreign policies without the people knowing what they were in fact doing.

I get so upset about this

I can hardly speak. I have made it VERY clear to my children how I feel about what the military DOES to young men, and I can only hope they can get it across to my grandchildren. Other than that, only prayer helps me find calm and hope amid this evil.
