Write your new Congressman - First order of business - Eliminate The Naked Scanners (and then the T.S.A itself)

We need a good old fashion email campaign to all of our new (or maybe not so new) Congresspeople. The first order of business should be to eliminate the naked image scanners from the nations airport.

I've already written my Congressman. I copied the letter below. Feel free to use it as your own.

It'll only take 2 minutes. Everyone get to writing

=================================================================

Congressman _____,

First and foremost -- CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR RECENT VICTORY!!!!

Now, down to business. Congressman, recent and national outrage over the T.S.A. and their absurd policies of sexually assaulting passengers is well warranted and this behavior MUST be reined in as soon as Congress returns.

The employees of the T.S.A. have proven themselves time and time again incapable and too morally deficient to over-see security operations for the nation.

T.S.A. employees are routinely making the news. Regardless if it's a pedophile T.S.A. agent:
http://www.dvorak.org/blog/2010/03/18/boston-tsa-screener-ch...

or a T.S.A. agent who claims that he is God:
http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local-beat/TSA-Security-Ag...

or T.S.A. agents who are so unprofessional as they (1) intimidate others because of the image that appears on the naked scanner AND (2) subsequently gets pulverized by another T.S.A agent for very said jokes:
http://ohmygov.com/blogs/general_news/archive/2010/05/13/TSA...

or even the person who was threatened (by a Federal agent mind you) with a $10,000 fine if he didn't consent to a sexual assault by T.S.A.:
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/11/watch-man-threatened-1000...

This behavior is repugnant and unconstitutional and must be reined in as one of the first orders of business for the new House.

Federal employees can NOT be allowed to violate the 4th amendment of the Constitution all for their own benefit. The Constitution is in place to protect the people from an oppressive Government and we are in need of these protections today.

Ben Franklyn's words must be heard today:

"People willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both."

These untested x-ray machines are not only reported to be unhealthy, but is also widely known do not detect certain types of weapons that are currently in use by terrorists today.

These machines DO NOT make us safer. They only serve to steal the liberties of every day Americans thus subjecting us further to a totalitarian government which routinely listens to phone calls, reads emails and now searches people WITHOUT CAUSE.

What next? Cameras in our house?

Please rid our Country of these evasive machines and once that has been completed I urge to to put forth legislation to eliminate wasteful spending. ELIMINATE THE T.S.A.!

Thank you for your time.

Regard,

They are quite effective and simple to go through.

Start filing criminal and civil complaints on TSA

per section 802 of HR3162 (see http://www.dailypaul.com/node/120108 Jefferson's comment) and for violation of USC Title 18 section 242; DEPRIVATION OF RIGHTS UNDER COLOR OF LAW.
http://www.justice.gov/crt/crim/242fin.php
you may find other offenses TSA and other Government office may be violating in USC Title 18

I'm not sure if being denied

I'm not sure if being denied the right to fly would necessarily deny a person of their constitutional rights.... Is flying a right?

Section 242 of Title 18 makes it a crime for a person acting under color of any law to willfully deprive a person of a right or privilege protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States.

The TSA violating

4th amendment rights " to be secure..."

Agreed

But I'm not sure that 'Title 18 section 242; DEPRIVATION OF RIGHTS UNDER COLOR OF LAW' would apply

Violation of the 4th? For sure!

How about this?

In the U.S., the right to travel is derived from the synthesis of several rights. This was quite well laid out in Kent v. Dulles, 357 U.S. 116 (1958) at 125-126.

"The right to travel is a part of the `liberty' of which the citizen cannot be deprived without due process of law under the Fifth Amendment. . . . Freedom of movement across frontiers in either direction, and inside frontiers as well, was a part of our heritage. Travel abroad, like travel within the country, . . . may be as close to the heart of the individual as the choice of what he eats, or wears, or reads. Freedom of movement is basic in our scheme of values."

Add this to your post.

People need to call their reps immediately and don't let them just give you mumbo-jumbo. Demand answers and action! Our critters need to hear from everyone so they can't go to sleep without thinking about thinking about the TSA. Keep up the pressure, the topic will have to make it's way to the chamber floor for discussion.
