John McCain Worries About Rand Paul--Defense Cuts, "Protectionism and Isolationism" in GOP

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) sounded an alarm about some of the Republicans joining him in Congress next year, warning that they could affect the consensus on the war in Afghanistan and might pose challenges to free trade agreements and the defense budget.

"Rand Paul, he's already talked about withdrawals, cuts in defense," said McCain. "I worry a lot about rise of protectionism and isolationism in the Republican Party."

Non-interventionism

McCain is a slow learner. Ron Paul schooled him on the difference between isolationism and non-interventionism in the 2008 debates. Maybe J.D. Hayworth will wipe him out of the Senate in 2012.

Please

Attn John McCain.
Please retire and take Lieberman and Graham with you.

"OH NO! He has a SON?" Neoconservatives and Liberals EVERYWHERE!

Rand Paul 2016

I can't wait to see Rand

I can't wait to see Rand confront old hamster face Mc Amnesty the way he did with Spitzer, ConWay, and Trey. Its not wise to talk about isolationism when you are a Republican that wants to flood the country with illegals. How on earth did that phoney get reelected? I thought his state was sick of him.

Here we go again with

Here we go again with "isolationism": just another smear term without any validity. The proper term, at least the one I subscribe to, is non-interventionist, in regards to foreign policy.

We should bring back "America First" in our lexicon--in regards to foreign policy, not protectionism. I hope Ron Paul runs; in that case, instead of shouting "USA, USA," I will shout "America First, America First."

Also, I think we should have a new, updated version of "The America First Committee," like they did before World War II.

Arizonans, whom otherwise are a band of independent rabble-

rousers, somehow repeatedly fail to realize the cognitive dissonance in a man whom married his MISTRESS, leaving his REAL WIFE who has stayed loyally by him, while he was toiling away at the 'Hanoi Hilton' simply because a car accident marred her face and body so horrifically, she could no longer be a trophy wife for his future political ambitions.

what a douchebag, of the first order.

plus, there's just something ICKY about TWO generations of McCain males MARRYING INTO WEALTHIER females' families. A man who cannot pull his own weight is no man at all. Worse, it's one thing to be single, but wholly another to marry like some bitch-ass gold-digger, is just simply pathetic.

but I suppose he's in good company; TWO generations of Bush whino-bitches also married into richer women's families.

Guaranteed in BOTH cases, these were Political Marriages, ala 14th Century kind, definitely NOT out of 'love.'

P.S. Big Ups to Arizona for passing Medical Marijuana Proposition!

Though, god knows what the chances of getting rid of pot-tax revenue stream, once it's turned on... Gvt certainly ain't gonna let go of this cash cow once they have a taste for it.

of course, in an ideal Constitutional Republic, people should be able to grow, trade, sell, exchange and consume any way they see fit without being taxed, arrested, or killed for it. then again, things are beginning to change, REAL fast, so who knows...

It's too bad all these damned "news" sites

make you sign up to leave comments. I would love to see the string of comments posted below on their site too. All these clever and descriptive comments get seen mainly by us, the ones who already know.

If I were a traitor like 'ol Songbird I'd be worried all the tim

too.

Criminals should always be worried - worried that one day they will be brought to justice.

And our state voted him back in

Makes me SO SICK! I don't know why people can't figure it out.

McCain : SAD

.

McCain is a rotted NEO-CON.

You can't have both a Republic AND an Empire.

McCain never learned this - even though he saw first hand in Vietnam what happens when you go to war unconstituionally.

And this guy swears to UPHOLD the constitution.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

I never understood

Exactly why McCain had the views he did, given his Viet Nam experience. I know Darn few Vietnam vets that agree with him. He must be bought and paid for.

Every Senator

is bought and paid for. United States' "corruption central".

McCain spews more poison...

McCain and his good buddy Giuliani both got schooled big time by Ron during the 2008 campaign on the difference between isolationism and noninterventionism. Back then I was convinced he was simply ignorant on the issue and was committing the equivocation fallacy. Three years later, I have come to realize that he understands the difference perfectly well yet is knowingly trying to lull everybody else into committing this fallacy for political gain. Ultimately McCain is to liberty what McDonald's is to culinary arts...a perversion.

Misrepresentation via intentional equivocation in any form is a malicious form of lying. Doing so as a politician when trying to convince the military to continue spending American treasure and blood on needless wars to the point of national bankruptcy is treason.

Cuimhnigh orm, a Dhia, le haghaidh maith.

There's that word again.

Here we go with another round of "isms" being thrown tossed out there to try and discredit the Paul's.

If men are good, you don't need government; if men are evil or ambivalent, you don't dare have one.

McCain

There is a huge difference between Protectionism and Non-interventionism.

why doesn't he understand?

McCain has good reason to

McCain has good reason to worry. "Free Trade" has cost us millions of jobs. Undeclared wars have cost us untold billions of dollars, thousands of lives, made us less safe as a nation, and been used to justify undermining the Bill of Rights.

The American people are tired of being called "potential terrorists" by our number one terrorist. They are tired of being treated as cattle by the TSA, all supposedly to protect us from terrorism.

And as for "isolationism", maybe the advocates of intervention would like to engage in these unnecessary wars, rather than to send others to fight and die. Probably not.

My Opinion Of John McCain Is:

He's the worst of the worst neo-con war mongers, and only got re-elected by being financed by friends of his rich wife.

John McCain does not speak for Liberty minded Americans !

beesting

Deatheaters clamor for more death.

In Korea, in Vietnam (secretly in Cambodia and Laos), in Afghanistan and in Iraq someone chose to fight ideas with bombs and bullets and occupation. Threats of the Swastika and the Rising Sun were replace by the threat of the Hammer and Sickle to the modern day calls to fear of the Moon and the Bear and the Panda.

You can see the rise in protectionism in the TSA invasions of domestic airline passenger privacy. We are isolated by the fear created by naming so many enemy by the banner they wave or label they are given.

Where are all these so-called terrorists? Who are the one's who have been proven dangerous in an open court held to the highest standards of evidence and disclosure.

Ten years, a trillion dollars later and the only thing to show are hit lists accomplished, two occupied countries and an ongoing invasion into a third.

Ten years later and the government can make no case for any invasions.

Free includes debt-free!

hm weren't there couple trolls on dp still attacking rand on

foreign policy even just last week?

i suppose they were mccain supporters. wrong site?

John McCain

is an imperialistic buffoon. He thinks that to not be at war with everyone on the planet is isolationism. He's part of the political elite class that needs to be thrown out. So sad that I have to listen to him for the next six years. Are there many smart people in Arizona?

Well I'm Worried

About the Republican 2008 fall guy for the New World Order.

It is pretty obvious that McCain was the Bob Dole of 2008. He was a weak candidate who was put there as a placeholder so Obama could win.

They pass the ball back and forth and we never get to catch it. The sheep think they're throwing the bums out, while the game goes on over their head.

As much as I pity John McCain for the years he endured as a prisoner of war, I can't help wondering if those years somehow twisted his mind and made him unfit for leadership.

Anyway, he got his chance to be in the history books as the loser of the perennial race to keep the boobus body politic occupied. He should now retire and shut up.

McCain was a sociopath long before he was captured.

Sociopathy, now called antisocial personality disorder, is a pervasive pattern of disregard for, and violation of the rights of others that begins in childhood or early adolescence and continues into adulthood. It is characterized by an abnormal lack of empathy combined with strong amoral conduct, but masked by an ability to appear outwardly normal.

Sounds to me like McCain and many of the politicians in office today.

"Bend over and grab your ankles" should be etched in stone at the entrance to every government building and every government office.

Clearly....

McCain and that cracker Graham are living in a bubble outside the realm of reality. Really really out of touch. Amazing.

"The earmarks are important,"

"The earmarks are important," said McCain. "We cut out those earmarks, we can save billions."

pathetic.

Protectionism is exactly what he swore to do.

If he doesn't want the job discription get out of the kitchen.

McCain should be

the poster child for planned obselecence.

John McCain is worried?

Oh goodie!!

ditto--

.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

My thoughts exactly...

If McCain is worried we are on the right track.
