The DP "signature". What's yours?

A person's perpetual "signature" that they have automatically inscribed at the bottom of each post tells a lot about them and their beliefs.

I thought I would start a list. I've never seen one posted here before but am sure it has been addressed.

Do you know who these people are?

It's not political but I use this in everyday life to help discriminate with those that I treat, and those that I have interactions with-- like police officers (recently evaded a 15mph ticket). Pulled on her heart strings after I saw how vulnerable she was on the inside- she (cop) needed a break from everything too. She felt really good about herself after she gave me the warning instead.

I judge their posture. It gives plenty of information on how a person is doing in the moment and overall.

In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.

I thought this was appropriate. It covers just about everything. The author of this quote was Michael Ellner. The signature is too long to include proper credit.

Mine was

woven out of my love of broccoli, my disdain for the Bush family, Geo HW's refusal to eat broccoli, and a childish sense of humor.

I like broccoli...I must be a terrorist.

Too Uncanny

I went on a huge broccoli diet in early 90's just because the gwb1 said he hated it. Healthiest year of my life I think.

The man's an idiot. He should have tried a squeeze of lemon on his. Obviously too busy drooling all over himself.

Reporting in....

lol. I often contemplate changing mine. Over 3+ years and I still have not. I always reread it and think .... naw ... I'm good with that.

Republicae had a sig at one time I liked a lot. It was something like ... " rags to paper , paper to rags..." lol < well, I just made it sound dumb.... but it was really good ..... I just cant remember it.

and Jefferson .... he gots teh planes man ..... freakin planes :^)

I had to land "the planes".

I got a new laptop, and they just showed up as big boxes going across the bottom of my post. I don't know why it did that. I miss my planes...

I have been wondering when to change mine

A couple of people acted like I was being sneaky by changing my screen name, so my tag is "Practicing fish n chix liberty at www.fishyculture.com (I used to be paul4won but I quit paulitics)"
I wonder if I drop that parenthetical statement how long it will be before I am accused of pretending to be someone else again...

Mine used to be...

We don't know how to mind our own business
'Cause the whole worlds got to be just like us
Now we are fighting a war over there
No matter who's the winner
We can't pay the cost
'Cause there's a monster on the loose

But this was too long so I just use the last sentence. It's from the rock song by Steppenwolf, 1968. I like it because though it was written 40+ years ago, it could have been written in yesterday, and it would still hold true!

'Cause there's a monster on the loose

"The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money."

-Alexis de Tocqueville

Seems appropriate

With the passing of legislation such as the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act the following quote seems appropriate to me:

"Those who would sacrifice freedom for temporary security deserve neither freedom nor security." - Benjamin Franklin

Just my 2 cents...

(The war on terror) is deliberately vague... and non-definable... in order to justify and permit a perpetual war anywhere and under any circumstances. - Dr. Ron Paul http://www.youtube.com/user/paranoidevolution

I gained a lot from EKR...how nice to see her mentioned here.

Thanks

Nice story. I read a lot of EKR about 15 years ago. Very moving stuff.

To bad I

didn't take to heart what Zappa was saying in this song 'I Am the Slime From the Video', back in 75 or so when it came out. It is hard to learn that you have been brainwashed your entire life.

I am gross and perverted, I'm obsessed and deranged, I have existed for years but very little has changed, I'm the tool of the government and industry too. Have you guessed me yet??
