War Erupts Between North & South Korea

SEOUL, South Korea — North and South Korea exchanged artillery fire on Tuesday after dozens of shells fired from the North struck a South Korean island near the countries’ disputed maritime border, South Korean military officials said. Two South Korean soldiers were killed, 15 were wounded and three civilians were injured, said Kiyheon Kwon, an official at the Defense Ministry.

The South Korean military went to “crisis status,” and fighter planes were put on alert but did not take off.

And this is why ...

Countries with NO central bank.

This is a UN sanction. There is no Korean War.

That is all. That sums up why we are there.

Will Rogers, American Rope Trick Artist & Avid Newspaper Reader, often quipped, "I don't make this stuff up! It is right here on the front page!"

He wondered, "How the heck did Uncle Sam get himself in such a fix? How did he know there was a fight going on way over there in Asia? Do we have scouts out looking for a fight? If we want to pick a fight with China, why don't we just sink one of their laundry boats to the bottom of the Mississippi? Then we can fight them over here during the day, & go home to be with the family in the evenings."

Will Rogers had it pretty well figured; he was very good with rope tricks also.

Maybe neither of THEM fired first...

But what do I know. I just remember the idiots who gave the world's biggest terrorist state a sub last time there were missiles fired.

May not be related, but as best I remember awhile ago these 2 countries were working toward reconciliation and a number of South Koreans wanted the US gone. The US is under the command of... and some people claim the North Korean banking situation may have something to do with it.

I dont know, I am confused lately and thinking out loud.

Get any troops out of there !!!

South Korea obviously has to respond to this, making things even tenser.

Its not worth it, humanitarian can come in again after they potentially end their possible war.

South Korea has that huge minefield and a good military. I think they can handle it imo.

Let Japan bail them out if they want.

U.S. Tactical Nukes May Return to South Korea

If North Korea’s going to flaunt its new uranium-enrichment facility to the world, South Korea isn’t going to sit back and take it. Seoul is considering a request for the U.S. to return tactical nuclear weapons to the Korean peninsula for the first time in 15 years. Remember when President Obama was going to put the world on a “path to zero” nukes?

Over the weekend, a U.S. scientist revealed that North Korea took him on a tour of its new “ultra-modern” uranium-enrichment plant at Yongbyon, ending longstanding doubts about Pyongyang’s home-grown capabilities at turning uranium into nuclear fuel. (Though it’s unclear whether the plant is already enriching uranium.) South Korea’s defense minister quickly cooked up a response, the Korea Herald reports: consider asking the U.S. to bring its nuclear weapons back.

Conspiracy Theory

Could it be the US is provoking this somehow behind the scenes as a way of punishing South Korea for not going along with the latest "free trade" fiasco?

More like South Korea

More like South Korea punishing the United states for reducing its troop and arms commitments and then daring to demand better trade deals.

"Cowards & idiots can come along for the ride but they gotta sit in the back seat!"

Could be

Your guess is as good as mine. No one knows what is going on behind the scenes. I read an article a while back that claimed it was the Japanese that keep North Korea in business, because a united Korea would be a huge economic threat to them. If this region were to integrate it would be very powerful economically.

I am in Seoul right now, have been for the last 5 months. I seem to be more concerned about this than most of the Koreans I talk to. Maybe more worried is a better description. They are angry of course but they do not seem to think anything major will happen. I suppose 50 years of this numbs you to the reality.

I won't tell anyone what to say or how to think, but please... not every military action in the world is some sort of grand conspiracy false flag attack. North Korea uses aggression as a diplomatic tool.

Interesting...must be contagious

Heck, we've exchanged gunfire on our border hundreds of times in the past few years with the Mexican military.

Nobody in Washington even noticed. Well, ALMOST nobody.

Of course, as a result, gold will go straight up this morning, for a little while.

i smell another false flag

remember the South Korean destroyer the North supposedly sank a few months ago?

wars are perfect distractions...

Ireland went belly up so why not create another war to have sheeple focus on it.

This is exactly what I thought

But the law of coincidence seems to pop up a lot in economics and politics. lolool

In this case I would say.

No news is good news.

I haven't seen any new depelopments since I started tracking this story 5 hours ago. The same pictures and headlines are repeated hour after hour.

If all out war had broken out, Seoul probably would have been leveled by now.

Great! ....another war for us ...

Looks like most headlines try to point the finger at N.K.

I am picturing a bunch of folks in North Korea

looking at each other and asking,

"did you launch a bomb? I didn't launch a bomb". "No one here launched a bomb. Who the heck launched a bomb?"

Wonder if another 40 years or so they'll release the documents on this just like the Gulf of Tonkin?
