Hackers take down website of bank that froze WikiLeaks funds - Video

A group of Internet activists calling themselves Operation Payback have taken credit for shutting down the website of a bank that earlier Monday froze funds belonging to WikiLeaks.
Announcing its successful hack on a Twitter account, the group declared, "We will fire at anyone that tries to censor WikiLeaks."
Earlier in the day, Swiss bank PostFinance issued a statement announcing that it had frozen 31,000 euro ($41,000 US) in an account set up as a legal defense fund for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
The bank said it had frozen the account because, in opening it, Assange had claimed residency in Geneva.
"Assange cannot provide proof of residence in Switzerland and thus does not meet the criteria for a customer relationship with PostFinance," the bank said.
As of Monday evening, the PostFinance website was unavailable.
Operation Payback also promised a hack attack on PayPal, the online payment service that last week cut off WikiLeaks, denying the group a major tool for collecting donations from supporters.

While it is almost stomach turning to defend a Zionist stooge such as Assange, it does feel good that, by doing so, I support the "attack dogs" tearing up the censors.
Make 'em bleed, boys, as you seem the only ones with cajones to do so.

Your position is illogical and unsupported
Your support for unjust even criminal activity is irrational. IMO

Unjust, criminal activity is
Unjust, criminal activity is exactly what brought about this country's independence from England.
I disagree
The cost of control destroyed profits making it a worthless investment.
We did not beat the British with violence or vandalism. The battles for the most part were defensive.
Do you know how much it cost the English Crown to pay Cornwallis and his troops to chase Nathaniel Greene through the Southern wilderness. There were other battalions all the way to Canada.
And there was nothing worth looting to pay the bills. Game Over.
The lesser of two injustices is still unjust. How does injustice help build the domain of the free? How does that build freedom?
Free includes debt-free!
I'm wondering just how independent we really are ?

Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow

But these guys are the digital window breakers
Criminal activity cannot bring liberty, no matter how active.
We get liberty if the people demand justice. That's how Adams and Jefferson saw it in 1820s.

What were the People called during the Revolution?
They were called terrorists, no doubt.
What did we call the N. Vietnamese during the Vietnam War?
They were called Viet-Cong Guerrillas.
I understand that it is not right to do, but they deserved it. Computer Hackers know how to get their point across. They made a statement, and no one was killed in the process. They crashed a bank website, and didn't steal a penny.
Thanks Steve
well said.
Besides what if these "hackers" are in fact ET aka angels working from another planet on our side helping us out lol

Any PayPaul's out there?
I'm conflicted about the hacking... deep down, I enjoy it when the establishment and their lackeys take a beating every now and then, but taking down a website does seem a little anti-private property doesn't it?...

Not - everything- is a psyop.
Not - everything- is a psyop. During the late 1700s, one could have argued that the American Revolution was a psyop designed to justify more tyranny from England. Calling everything out as a "psyop" is the lazy path.
Good point. Open mindedness a vigilant research rule.

I believe these guys have ties to 4chan...
...so they are legit and not some government exercise. But lets look at the bigger picture here. Visa and Mastercard just blackballed wiki. According to the m.o. of this group, Visa and Mastercard are now on their enemy hit list. Once they hit an American entity, especially a bank or credit institution - the government is going to get it's panties in a bunch. We already have people like Palin calling for the death of Assange, and we have people like Newt Gingrich calling him (and those working with him) 'enemy combatants' (which means they can be assasinated without trial, even if US citizens).
Bump: for Assange
Operation Payback may be up to something else, now by Assange is in jail.
Doesnt Ring true to me
Just doesnt, there is so much more a group capable to doing as much and remaining invisible without fear could be doing if they suddenly felt the urge to be patriotic.
They could just as well leak destructive info fro many of the criminal organizations like The banks or Haliburton, documenters from the dealing of black water ect ect.
This reaks of a stunt to give reason to seize control of the net and to implement net neutrality and other chokes by force.
