Now is the Time to Make our Voices HeardSubmitted by FSUJAG54 on Fri, 12/10/2010 - 12:39
With the start of the new year approaching, the political world is buzzing with speculation about who will run for the Republican party's Presidential nomination for 2012. It is a foregone conclusion that no single popular figure has emerged from the left, who might challenge Obama. In spite of his unpopular agenda destroying the Democrats' chances in 2010 (and likely 2012), there is no hero waiting in line to dethrone President Santa Claus.
On the Republican side, we do have one good candidate already--former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson. When I asked him personally, last month, whether he plans to run for President he said, "I think that's what all this [speaking tours] is heading toward." As thrilled as I am to have one of the few politicians in recent history, who has actually successfully drastically reduced the size of government, running for POTUS I am still hoping that the good doctor will throw his hat in the ring.
This brings me to the point of this post (and I know some others on here have already been working toward this)--we have to be extremely vocal now. The mainstream media has already begun its blackout/smear campaign.
I propose that we all commit to writing every news station every single time Dr. Paul is mentioned. If he is mentioned positively then we must thank them. If he is smeared or ignored (from polls, etc.) then we must let them know that we are not pleased.
Remember, Dr. Paul does not approve of his supporters behaving in a rude or nasty manner.
Make your point, state your facts, and follow it up with a friendly reminder. The point of all this is to let them know they will not get away with the crap they pulled on us last time. We all know that if the media had merely told the truth about Ron Paul in the last election that he would be our President today. This time around he is much more well-known, this new committee chair will give him a lot more publicity between now and 2012, and the economic and social conditions in this country create the absolute perfect climate for his rise to the position.
Let's make our voices heard now so that he will receive as much positive media attention as possible and the media will think twice about their treatment of him. I want the media to fear our backlash and the only way to do it is if we write/call/fax them EVERY SINGLE TIME his name is mentioned. What say you?
