Drudge is the errand-boy for the Republican establishment, and he can't say that Ron Paul flew off the handle, because he had Huckabee's cross ad up there for a day, without explanation, before Ron Paul got asked about it.

When Huckabee released his attack on Bush's "arrogant" foreign policy, he was making a play for Bush the Elder's foreign policy team to come and be his advisors. Drudge obviously has to destroy Huckabee if possible, just as the Wall Street Journal and National Review are trying to destroy him by making him look like a televangelist.

It serves the war machine's interest if Ron Paul and Huckabee get into a pointless pissing match over this ad, but hopefully it will end here. It's always possible that Huckabee will be clueless enough to say this is the war on Christmas, though.

I hope a lot of Iowans were listening. Glad he got to set the record straight there at the end.
