Daniel Ellsberg Praises Ron Paul on Countdown w/ Keith Olbermann

They play some clips from Ron Paul's speech and then Daniel Ellsberg heaps on the praise. The Ron Paul stuff is from 1:00 to 3:00.

I get tired of

people always qualifying their support of Ron Paul. "I don't agree with ________, but I agree with _____.

No one agrees 100%

with any other person. There are some things I disagree with Ron Paul on, too, but I voted for him, and gladly.

Ellsberg is no hero...

One deed, however significant, does not make a hero in my opinion.

His foreign policy aligns with Dr. Paul but his domestic policy is economic socialism forced by the jack boot of government in order to create some sort of false Utopian society.

Ellsberg wants government force turned inward not outward.

Rush - The Trees
There is unrest in the forest
There is trouble with the trees
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas

The trouble with the maples
(And they're quite convinced they're right)
They say the oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light
But the oaks can't help their feelings
If they like the way they're made
And they wonder why the maples
Can't be happy in their shade

There is trouble in the forest
And the creatures all have fled
As the maples scream 'Oppression!'
And the oaks just shake their heads

So the maples formed a union
And demanded equal rights
'The oaks are just too greedy
We will make them give us light'
Now there's no more oak oppression
For they passed a noble law
And the trees are all kept equal
By hatchet, axe and saw

so?

how much do you want to bet that "Rush" is a liberal band who believes in a similar domestic policy?

Lets see...

Uhh 2112 was mainly written by Peart who acknowledges the album was heavily infuenced by Ayn Rands Anthem and the Fountain Head.

And if you notice the lyrics above were not all that supportive of the "liberal" domestic policy.

And really it doesn't matter much what their politics are, I just felt that those lyrics fit the topic I was discussing.

Dr. Paul forged a coalition with different parties

http://www.dailypaul.com/node/61153

They agreed on several issues:
Foreign Policy, Privacy, National Debt and Auditing the Federal Reserve.

I believe that the Constitution and human decency can strengthen that coalition. I am confident that properly presented and argued, many who have been lost in a century of false paradigm of left and right will appreciate our arguments even if they are not swayed.

There is an antiwar coalition brewing. Justin Raimondo is following up on Murray Rothbard's efforts in the 1960s to forge and alliance between the so-called New Right and New Left.

The biggest difference is that the New Right sees government as the problem. The New Left sees government as a tool to use against the tyranny of corporate interests. (But, corporate interest are grown by the efforts of government efforts creating a conflict of interest. Corporations and Unions have lobbyists, we do not.)

The solution is our Constitution. It allows socialists to be social, and it leaves the rest of us free if we are willing to demand our rights.

Free includes debt-free!

Government IS the problem as its put into Corporate hands...

We have too many nonsense corporations running the show.......

We live in the United States of Nicky "Jamie" Diamond just for starters!!!

So government colluding with corporations is the source of our problems, giving government that power has led to chaos. Government should not limit competition and at the same time, Government needs to be tightly rebuilt by us to fulfill our objectives & prosecute all those involved.

Ellsberg is a commie traitor

We need to stop getting so excited whenever some leftist "praises" Ron Paul to suit his own purposes.

Ellsberg is a disgusting creature who undermined the Viet Nam war effort - causing us to lose the lives of many American troops and millions of Viet Namese boat refugees and cambodian genocide victims.

We should not have went to war...BUT...once we were embroiled in a war against the evil communists, we had a moral obligation to our troops to end it and win. People like Ellsberg, Cronkite, Jane Fonda etc made that impossible.

So pardon me if I dont get too excited about Establishment scumbag Ellsberg praising Ron Paul about his defense of what is really a CIA-Mossad disinfo ploy known as WikiLeaks.

We all praise Ron Paul when it suits our own purposes.

I certainly don't agree with Ron Paul on every issue, but on most I do.

As far as the Viet Nam war and Ellsberg, that war was just an earlier version of the current imperialist foreign policy. We embroiled ourselves in a Civil War of another country. At least then a large portion of the population did not pretend to honor those foolish enough to follow the commands of our government and go kill on their behalf.

The heroes were those who refused to go do the killing for the thugs who controlled the federal government and who did what they could to foil the war effort; people like Cassius Clay, Daniel Ellsberg and the countless others who found ways to refuse and to thwart.

I think those who supported and cooperated in this war of federal aggression were the traitors. Don't you understand that the US federal government was and is just as much an evil, criminal, collectivist enterprise as the evil communist to whom you refer!

"The deepest sin against the human mind is to believe things without evidence." Thomas H. Huxley

Ellsburg did not undermine the war effort.

He exposed the government's duplicity in criminal activities that undermined the troops and their valiant efforts.

Great injustices were done, and the suspects went free. Bit players in this drama were smeared and targeted while the big fish still troll the oceans.

Free includes debt-free!

...

...

you are absolutely clueless

surely, a victim of the propaganda in your time.

a younger version of you would call today's antiwar protesters terrorist sympathizers and traitors for undermining the Afghanistan/Iraq war "effort" to root out evil islamo-fascists.

the gulf of tonkin was a staged incident. vietnam came about because we had a secret agreement with france to control vietnamese. not because some ridiculous notion that commie-bastards were running amok. listen to yourself. you sound like a neocon.

you might want to rent or netflix this movie to help get up to speed: http://www.mostdangerousman.org/

So what would 'we have "won" if these traitors didn't sabotage

Victory?

Do you feel the same way about Afghanistan too?

it should be Daniel Ellsberg not Ellsburg.

On another note Ellsberg and former senator Mike Gravel are calling for a new 9/11 investigation.

Taliban

Loved the part (this could have easily been Ron Paul's 10th question) where he said, and I paraphrase: "I'd like to have a Wikileak which gives the number/strength of the Taliban now vs pre-American military involvement. He said he believes the Taliban actually would be stronger, which begs the question, WHAT the heck are we doing over there??????"

Of course, the neo cons would view this as evidence supporting MORE military expenditure and commitment. Insanity!

What is this, the second time Ron Paul's name has been...

mentioned on Keith Olbermann's show, and the first time Keith Olbermann has been the one mentioning his name.
This is big.

How Soon We Forget

Olbermann defended Ron Paul after the infamous GOP debate with Giuliani--unless I've forgotten...

I couldn't find it, but here's another: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjNUtRYkqxE

When Ron Paul was dropped from the GOP debate, I seem to recall Olbermann defending the voter's right to hear him.
