CNN is skeptical but read between the lines

So CNN doesn't do enough now to recognize the fundraising. They say things like, "Campaign officials for Paul now say they have raised $18 million for their man, but the figures won't be independently confirmed until FEC reports are filed at the end of the year."

THIS IS A GOOD THING! WHY? THINK ABOUT IT!

Ron Paul receives some notice now by CNN, but not enough. Yet once those "FEC reports" are filed, CNN will give Ron Paul attention again for the very same thing. It's like killing two birds with one stone. Even if both birds individually are smaller than the bird we want from the CNN, the two birds combined yield more than that one bird we want.

We must read between the lines of CNN's position. They aren't reporting enough because they are skeptical. Yet other media outlets are. Having every MSM reporter talk about one thing at the same time is not necessarily good. It's diminishing returns. It's better to have staggered reporting.

We've got what we need for the early States. CNN will report again on Ron Paul's successful fundraising once the "FEC reports" have been filed. And such reporting is free press going into Febrary 5, 2008, when half the country is voting. This is a good thing.

The results don't have to be

The results don't have to be reported until January 31. How many primaries are over by then? At the end of the quarter we'll only have voluntary reports. I'm guessing Romney and Giuliani and Thompson won't report until they have to, so as to minimize the impact of Ron's big haul.

5% of people make things happen
10% of people watch things happen
85% say "What happened?"

He's catching on I tell ya

Even the MSM is starting to catch the RP Freedom Virus.

Prediction

If Ron Paul beats the competition in fundraising for this quarter (which he will), I predict that the Old Media will simply ignore it, just like they ignore the straw polls, which used to have an impact in their reporting.

The good news is, though, you have people like Tucker, Cafferty, etc., who manage to leak news like this out, causing other media outlets to follow suite, if only begrudgingly.
