Ron Paul - "Deciding [on a 2012 Run] at the Beginning of the Year"

On Sunday’s broadcast of NPR’s "All Things Considered," 2008 Republican presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul, a libertarian favorite, addressed his 2012 prospects. He told NPR’s Guy Raz that a presidential run is still a possibility.

"Well, it’s possible and I haven’t ruled it out, so I’ll probably be deciding at the beginning of the year," Paul said. "And people ask me if I think about it a lot and I do because a lot of people ask me about it."

This time around Ron will win...

not based on how much money we get him to get the word out about who he is - this time Ron will not need our money he will win based on his life - his deeds.

I'm poor as dirt right now,

I'm poor as dirt right now, but heck I'll pitch another $100 if he runs! Run Ron run!!!

If RP runs I'll have to give

If RP runs I'll have to give my old 2008 4x4 yard sign a make-over. It's a tad weather worn and faded but still in their face.

The cool thing about Revolution 1.0 and 2.0 is that they are open source.

Ron Paul January Announcement?

Well, the moment we've all been waiting for is close at hand, I was expecting a March announcement, like he did last run, but the sooner the better, the more time we will have to ramp up and mobilize.

I hope by now, most of us are much more educated in the libertarian philosophy, as I have been fortunate to become. I really believe a consistent ideological philosophy is what makes Ron Paul such an attractive candidate, and is probably what attracted most of us to him, though, in my experience, I've found that many people who flocked to RP's ideas in 2007, haven't taken the time to really understand his ideas by reading many of the books he suggests in "The Revolution: A Manifesto", "Economics in One Lesson" by Henry Hazlitt is the book most of my friends seem to like the most.

Thanks to Daily Paul, we've had a forum to edify each other, and discuss ideas. I'd really encourage you all to take the next step, to find friends in your area that you can meet with on a regular basis, as I have been fortunate enough to find. I was really effected by this paper written by Hans-Hermann Hoppe in his experience with his participation in different societies through the years:

We've used this as a model for our society meetings, partly to entertain, partly to enlighten, though we meet weekly, rather than annually. We've found a great deal of success in this effort: We've organized a public "Peace and Prosperity" rally, an "Awakening 2010" event, an "Opt-Out: LAX" day, we've received press coverage and have been able to invite others into our group, and have greatly influenced their perceptions and ideas as well as our own.

I hope to see how others are preparing for the 2012 run.

Ron Paul officially announced in March 2007. But he formed the exploratory committee to run in January 2007.

which if he did do that

which if he did do that again... he has that new book coming out in April...

I heard that interview yesterday...

I was actually rather impressed. Overall, the interviewer was respectful of RP. They did give a slanted view of the usefulness of the Fed, though...no surprise.

I hope we will get our announcement in January...time is running out.

NPR - Fair to Ron Paul?

I remember on an election day when Ron Paul was seeking the Republican nomination and Ron Paul came in second place, I believe it was in Nevada, I was heading home from some Ron Paul event, sign making day or something, I was in a car full of activists, when the news hit with NPR on the radio, they only mentioned the first place winner for Nevada, but every other state, they mentioned all of the top three winners for both parties.

It was the beginning of a long line of NPR disappointments to me, a media outlet that seemed to me to escape the corporate funding, and yet clearly intentionally ignored such a story as this.

I suppose they can't ignore him anymore.

I have Ron Paul 2012 sign ready to plant in my yard!

I hope he decides Jan 1st! :D
