Forget just marginalizing the Fed.....

I think the Good Dr. Paul needs to talk about introducing a bill that places treason charges against Goldman Sachs!!!!

Goldman Sachs appears to be larger than the Fed...

They are apparently one of the largest banks in the world, proclaimed to be "nation savers" where in reality they got away with the biggest swindle of international mortgage fraud in this country's history. All the nations who were betting, knew Goldman was a god damn liar & yet Goldman sold them anyway to collapse the market.
http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2009/11/01/77791/how-goldman-secr...

How come everybody in the US Treasury, especially Tim Geithner, Hank Paulson, Cheney, Coors and the president of AIG previously held positions in the international banking giant Goldman Sachs?

How come all the official regulators for Wall Street, happen to be Goldman Sachs executives!??

And now - officially members of the Congress. Where is the absolute outrage on this conflict of interest?

Goldman Sachs is so ridiculously large, they should have treason charges read to them on Live camera for selling the entire nation of America down the river.

And of course, it just so happens they bumped up the stock for the Fed.

I agree.

I like what William Greene wrote further down in the blog about "Re-Introducing Competitive Currency by State Adherence to Article I". It should be investigated. In the end, a strategy must be implemented to make it actually happen. The Liberty Dollar was one such competing currency from the bottom-up that was actually making an impact. Of course, it ended up being raided. Incredible timing on when it was raided too, just before all the big banks were bailed out. At any rate, what you and William Greene are saying is true in order for this country to have a chance.

Some cities now have what I think are competing currencies, i.e.

the Ithaca Hours and Berkshire Bucks, amongst many others. These are legal, so can someone tell me what the legalized competing currencies are that the good Doc is talking about as compared with these? I'm lacking some understanding of this. You can buy gold and silver coins now, so they are already being minted somewhere and it's not illegal. Thanks!!

Yes, I do remember that. Thank you beesting.

The Good Doc, Is Talking About This Company That Got Busted.

Liberty dollars, and others like it:

http://coins.about.com/od/coinbuyingadvice/qt/libertydollars...

It was a great idea, but as it grew the Fed got worried and called out the gestopo to destroy it, without due process.

There must be a constructive way around the federal

rules. Like assigning a value other than monetary.

The bill actually has one

The bill actually has one cosponsor. Walter Jones Jr. from NC-3rd district! He also endorsed Ron Paul during the 2008 Presidential Election.

Debbie's picture

Yes, good for Walter Jones! I didn't know there was only one

co-sponsor, that is shameful!) I shall contact my critter immediately about this. Walter Jones is excellent and fortunately he got re-elected!!

The Biggest Way To 'END THE FED'

Is For Everyone To Buy Gold And Silver Coins And Begin Bartering Among Ourselves For Goods And Services..That Will Break The Stranglehold of The FED. Once The FEd Realizes That We Will Not use Their Worthless Federal Reserve Notes They Will RETREAT BACK INTO HELL From Which They Came..

I agree.

Yeah! That's the spirit!

Buy silver, it does SO many good things! All in the "power to the people" kind of mode!

Whatever else I said a minute ago, the last word I want to get in is
LOVE!

Personally i feel that the

Personally i feel that the best way to end the fed, and the control banking institutions have over world policies overall, is to end 'interest'. By making interest illegal, we take away a fictional construct. Nothing is created or earned in order for interest to be charged or accrue, it is simply a ponzi scheme on a gigantic scale. Tax incentives for lending should be sufficient motivation, aside from goodwill towards man that is, for people and institutions to lend money. Enough of these phony derivative funds, shell games and wall street schemes based on nothing but the idea of interest. I was shocked when all these 'cash for checks' and such operations sprung up, as i thought loansharking and usury were crimes, and now the banks do it as well!! enough is enough!

Make every day Spectacular!!

Good call, but good luck.

The good thing about that idea is that it is right in line with the monetary system laid out in the scriptures. I personally have given up all interest, both paying and receiving, and I couldn't be happier, quite a boost for my bottom line. If I can't afford something, I guess I'll just save up 'till I can. Works like a shot.

The bad thing about that idea is that it is right in line with the monetary system laid out in the scriptures. People in this county hate anything to do with the God of the scriptures, especially "religious" people. And I am afraid that we are too far gone to turn to God and use his advice for anything. We will have to go through something truly terrible for that to happen.

My gun control is a steady hand.

The STATES can have competing currencies NOW!

Under the U.S. Constitution (Article I, Section 10), every State is REQUIRED to ONLY use gold and silver in payments to and from the State.

Any State which passes the Constitutional Tender Act would not only nullify federal legal tender laws as they relate to State finances; it would also give the citizens of the State a CHOICE in what they want to use as currency: fiat dollars or real money.

I love Dr. Paul's attack on legal tender laws from the federal level; but we will have even MORE of a chance to nullify them, and END THE FED, from the bottom. See my paper, "Ending the Federal Reserve from the Bottom Up: Re-Introducing Competitive Currency by State Adherence to Article I, Section 10", which I originally presented at the Mises Institute.

Debbie's picture

Great idea - we should do BOTH! Also, the people should be able

to use whatever they want as money. This is already done in some cities, such as the Ithaca Hours and Berkshire Bucks. There are many more. The states themselves can only use gold and silver but amongst us citizens we can use whatever we want.

The video is probably 2009, BUT here's the recent update!

"This bill is in the first step in the legislative process. Introduced bills and resolutions first go to committees that deliberate, investigate, and revise them before they go to general debate. The majority of bills and resolutions never make it out of committee. [Last Updated: Dec 24, 2010 11:41PM]"

I believe it happened on Christmas Eve!

I think this is the most

I think this is the most important issue of our time.

If we can institute a free market in currency around the world, government's will no longer be able to do their crazy shenanigans anymore because they just won't have the money to do so.

Once we put the financial restraints on government by removing a government's/central bank's monopoly control of money and credit, freedom will be nothing but inevitable.

That was awesome

lets hope we can see things happen.
