No More Alcohol In My Life!

After many days of looking in depth at my life my lifestyle choices I decided to abandon my drinking ways.

No more organic beer or for that matter any kind of alcohol intake for me.

Thank you Michael Nystrom my wonderful friend for being instrumental in this choice this path I am taking.

I want the whole patriot community on Daily Paul to know how much I love you all.

Each and every one of you.

Keep me in your prayers I need your support and I need to face you every day being sober and strong...

I do not want to be depressed and lethargic because alcohol is flowing in my veins and affects my heart beat and my activism in our sacred struggle for Liberty.

Here I say it out loud -- hope some of you with a similar addiction/s join me.

Love Liberty Peace!

good points

I walk a lot...
this morning for example for 1 hour fast walking...keeps me healthy -- never owned a car btw and I do eat a lot of raw veggies like raw onions daily which in my drinking days and now always do a good job of removing from my body toxins.

Thank you!

To you and all trying to kick

To you and all trying to kick an addiction, cheers to your efforts and best wishes for success in 2011.

10-15 million more voters need to believe in non-interventionism (liberty) at home and abroad to change America. Minds changed on Syria. Minds changing on privacy. "Printing money" is part of the dialogue. Win minds through focus, strategy.

Thank you

Laissez faire cheers to you as well

Great Resolution, LL!

I know you can do it and will feel and be much healthier for it!

I have gone overboard with red wine sometimes..it just goes down too easy and doesn't take much! I have had to give it up! I'll just have to eat more dark chocolate! ;-)

Happy New Year!

Best of luck Legalize - I've been thinking the same thing...

Lately I've been drinking a little too much.

Although I am a fanatic about my diet (no white sugar, no hydrogenated oils, no artificial sweeteners, low saturated fat, good supplements etc), I still drink alcohol.

So I realize I'm fooling myself, but I have found that I am the easiest one to fool of all!

I plan on taking it ONE month at a time starting TOMORROW.

Tonight I have to play drums in a rock band at a big New Year's Eve deal and I will be imbibing!

Have a great New Year's Legalize.
I truly respect your input here on the DailyPaul.

This past August was 3 years for me...and it took several tries to get that done. Hopefully it is just a habit thing for you and you can substitute on thing (or several things) for the drinking. My good vibrations are going your way.

Thank you

Be careful

I don't know your age, how long, how much, or how often you drink, but alcohol is a blood thinner and if you have any arteries that are even slightly blocked, not fully opened going cold turkey can be deadly. I lost my best friend at 38 that way. No one even realized that part of the reason she drank was what seemed to be panic attacks/palpatations were heart problems. She was self medicating and not even realizing it. 3 months sober and a massive heart attack. Of course if she would have continued the way she was drinking she probably would not have been around but so many years anyway.RIP My dear friend Rhonda.13 yrs ago day before yesterday.

Not a reason to keep drinking.

Alcohol is also a liver toxin. When the liver becomes toxic it can no longer produce the enzymes that keep the arteries clean.

Here are some natural and healthy blood thinners.
http://www.ctds.info/natthinners.html

"Curry powder, Cayenne pepper, Ginger, Paprika, Thyme, Cinnamon, Dill, Oregano, Turmeric, Licorice, Peppermint"

They have blood pressure cuffs in many stores, keep and eye on that and eat more blood thinner as need be.

A Cardiac Nurse at the University of Michigan told me that the doctor could tell at the first incision if someone had eaten a proper ratio of Omega oils. Fish oils are easy, just keep them in the freezer.

When at hospital myself a year later, for an Over the counter [OTC] drug induced mini stroke, the ambulance attendant named me a phlebotmist's dream. I am thin and my veins are healthy and visible. They sent sent fresh, young nurses to draw blood and gain confidence. So I concluded, if one is going to be stupid (not following instruction on OTC drugs), it pays to be healthy.

My comment below included several ways to detoxify the liver. Sauna, hot springs, hard work are all ways to sweat out toxins where they can be washed away.

A good doctor can be a blessing. Verify what on-line know-it-alls proclaim.

Thank you

Tom - take that seriously

Can you go see a doctor and have a checkup in the near future?

Chonk, thank you for sharing that. I'm sorry about the loss of your friend.

Thanks Mike

It was a tough loss. She had 7 yr old triplet boys another son and daughter. It was a shock. Everyone was so thrilled she had stopped drinking and it ended up killing her. :(
I am not trying to discourage LL, just to be careful and keep an eye on those withdrawal symptoms.
They were treating her for acid reflux (chest pain)and giving her anti depresant and Xanax for the "anxiety" palpatations. Did they ever check her heart? No ! I kept telling everyone before and after she quit, but everyone always wrote all of her problems off to the drinking. I still get angry that no one listened.
I wish you the best LL and Congrats !

I am also the one that drove her to check in when she wanted to dry out. It haunts me.

Good to hear it

We need you fired up but sober. It takes clear-headed thinking to carry the arguments forward effectively.

Stick to your resolution and you'll make yourself proud.

Thank you Ron

well said -- I can be sober and fired up as well.

Happy 2011 Ron!

If you can't put it down, don't pick it up. Who wants to give away their freedom to a mere chemical chain. That's my son's rule. Lady liberty has many faces first she looks inward then she looks around.

The 12 step program is based on Carl Jung's work. It applies to life in general, we've all been addicted to all manner of things in our lives. They are steps to liberty.

My celebration of Seven: Celebrate 7 seconds, 7 minutes, 7 hours, 7 days, 7 weeks, 7 months, 7 quarter years, 7 years, and 7 decades. There is no failure, just starting over.

Celebrate with a friend, in the sun or in the rain and snow, with a walk in the park, with a poem, with a song, with a prayer, with a steam bath or sauna, in a hot spring or with a hard day of physical labor.

Celebrate the tears that wash the windows of the soul.

Celebrate liberty in all things great and small.

Szczęśliwego Nowego Roku!
